Chapter 930

~6 min read 1,034 words

Those who knew more had almost all become followers of Buddhism.

Thus, the celestial immortals and gods knew nothing of the truth behind the Path of Conversion.

In essence, forcibly using the Path of Conversion as firewood is nearly identical to demonic methods.

If this matter were exposed, it would shake the Three Realms, and Buddhism's reputation would plummet; even if not labeled demonic, it would make all immortals and gods fear it as if it were a tiger, even turning hostile toward Buddhism.

Of course, though the consequences of exposing the Path of Conversion are severe, they mean little to Buddhism today.

The fall of Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin had nearly drained Buddhism's foundational reserves.

Even the best reputation could no longer maintain its former status.

What truly concerned the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha were the two demons who had suddenly appeared, identical in appearance to Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin.

The moment WuFa and WuTian were born, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha felt a foreboding omen.

As expected, the emergence of WuFa and WuTian directly trapped Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin in Sumeru Heaven.

Under these circumstances, Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin had no capacity to come to his aid.

Other immortals and gods might fear him due to his backing by Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin, but Ancestor Minghe and Lady Pingxin would certainly not fear him.

Otherwise, Ancestor Minghe would not have attacked him even after Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin were resurrected.

Boom!

Facing Luo Fu's slow, flesh-slicing attacks, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha could only burn his own magic power, contracting his demonic body as much as possible, barely sustaining the Blood Sea Array.

Having endured the Blood Sea Array's erosion for so long, his own Buddha realm had been entirely consumed; the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha had lost all chance to counterattack.

Now, he could only hope to endure a little longer, until Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin dealt with WuFa and WuTian.

Only if Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin intervened could he have any chance of survival.

As he thought this, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha shifted his perception toward Luo Fu.

Gazing at Luo Fu standing beyond the Heavenly Heavens, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha's eyes flickered with complex emotion.

There was admiration, and also hatred.

He had never imagined that Luo Fu, with nothing more than a Pre-Saint's cultivation, had not only engineered the downfall of Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin into the Chaotic Void, but also triggered the so-called demonic calamity, forcing all of Buddhism into a dead end.

To outmaneuver two Saints and the greatest power in the Three Realms with only a Pre-Saint's strength—and succeed—even as an enemy, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha could not help but feel some admiration.

Of course, if they were not enemies, it would be better.

But since they were enemies, the more one involuntarily admired an enemy, the more deserving of death they were.

Luo Fu seemed to sense the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha's gaze; his own gaze pierced the vast distance and settled upon the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha.

Seeing the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, already at his last breath, Luo Fu subtly stirred his will, adding fuel to the fire.

Killing a peak Pre-Saint was no easy task.

Ancestor Minghe, though a limit-breaking Pre-Saint with overwhelming combat power over peak Pre-Saints, did not specialize in the Path of Destruction; the Blood Sea Path excelled at draining, not in one-shot annihilation.

Thus, to kill the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, Ancestor Minghe had to rely on the Blood Sea Path, slowly wearing down his magic power.

Without exception, anyone who fell into the Blood Sea Array and failed to escape in time would inevitably perish within it—only the time required varied.

That time would be at least one or two days.

One or two days meant nothing to a Pre-Saint—it was but a blink.

Spending such time to kill a peak Pre-Saint was still very worthwhile.

But one or two days was too long for Luo Fu.

He did not wish to wait that long.

With Luo Fu's will, an invisible force of karmic power enveloped the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha.

The aura of the Path of Demonhood suddenly descended upon Gai Jiuyou.

In an instant, vast quantities of demonic energy surged forth from the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha's demonic body.

Worse still, the sins fused into his demonic body erupted all at once.

As the sins surged, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha felt his soul crushed beneath a mountain, countless twisted, evil, mad whispers drilling into his soul from all directions.

Under the corruption of these whispers, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha felt his true spirit and Primordial Spirit tearing apart.

Sins were not something ordinary beings could bear.

The Path of Demonhood was not something anyone could cultivate.

To fall into the demonic path was simple—just release your inner desires.

But to achieve true mastery on the demonic path was far from easy.

The stronger the demon, the more unyielding and cold-hearted their Dao heart must be.

Demons act on whim, but that does not mean their Dao hearts are weak.

In truth, true cultivators of the demonic path often possessed stronger Dao hearts than ordinary cultivators of the same level.

Cultivating the demonic path requires resisting the temptation of unleashed desires and enduring the chaotic emotions brought by karmic sins.

If one cannot resist the temptation of unleashed desires, one becomes a puppet of desire—a pitiful creature driven only by craving.

If one cannot withstand the assault of sins, one will very likely become insane.

To become a true demonic master, the Dao heart is the most crucial.

No—better to say, the Demon heart.

Only by forging a true Demon heart could one advance farther along the Path of Demonhood and become a true peerless great demon.

Due to forcibly converting evil spirits, the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha had absorbed countless sins left behind by those spirits.

To become an evil spirit, one must already carry immense sins.

With countless evil spirits' sins converging, the amount of sin the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha bore was utterly terrifying.

Until now, these sins had remained dormant, slowly worn down and absorbed—or even utilized—by the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha.

It was because the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha had used certain methods to temporarily transfer all the karmic ties of these sins elsewhere.
