Chapter 12: The Mission of the Wu Clan
Having cleared two Earth Veins, Mount Buzhou appeared even more towering and vast.
Carrying the member of the Wu Clan, Tian Yuan dove into the mountain and arrived at that Consciousness Space.
Inside an Earth Vein that had not yet begun to be purified, Tian Yuan casually tossed the Wu Clan member onto the ground.
This member of the Wu Clan had a burly physique, standing three zhang tall; apart from an extra giant arm on his chest, he generally resembled a human.
However, upon closer inspection, Tian Yuan also discovered many strange features.
There were fine scales on both cheeks, shimmering with a greenish-red hue; his feet were circular, each with ten toes, and the tops of his feet were covered in earthy-yellow hair.
Although the Wu Clan was a single ethnic group, their appearances were bizarre and varied; even within the same group, fathers and sons each grew in their own way.
Tian Yuan cast a strand of magic power from his hand, and the Wu person lying on the ground stirred slightly.
Wutie, waking up groggily, instinctively raised a hand to touch the back of his head, but as soon as he lifted his arm, his movements stiffened.
Within his line of sight, he saw that detestable stone man and recalled the scene from just moments ago.
He, a dignified member of the Wu Clan, had actually been knocked unconscious and carried away by this stone man, and in front of the entire tribe, no less.
Roar! With an angry bellow, Wutie shot up and threw a fierce punch the moment he raised his hand.
Regarding this, Tian Yuan was not surprised in the slightest.
The Wu Clan was not like those of the Demon Race; they did not revere Heaven and Earth, and they would not address you as a senior just because your cultivation was high.
Making them submit and obediently clear the Earth Veins was not that easy.
The Wu Clan, simple to the extreme, revered Pangu and were passionate about combat.
Presumably, defeating them in the physical strength they were so proud of would surely make these fellows more obedient.
Facing the angry Wutie as he struck, Tian Yuan did not move; instead, he puffed out his chest.
His physical body was not weak, and he was at the mid-stage of the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm; this fellow was only at the late-stage of the Golden Immortal realm, far inferior to him.
He had also gnawed on quite a few heavenly treasures found on Mount Buzhou.
He would take this opportunity to test just how strong his own physical body really was.
Tian Yuan's contempt sent Wutie's anger soaring, and flames seemed to be spitting from his eyes.
"Roar!" With a heaven-shaking roar, wisps of Malevolent Qi emerged and gathered upon his fist.
Tian Yuan, who was standing still, narrowed his eyes, staring in shock at what was behind Wutie.
There was a tiny piece of debris there, and under Wutie's roar just now, it had actually trembled slightly.
Over these many years, he had cleared and purified Earth Veins, so he was naturally more than familiar with these bits of debris.
There was simply no other way to shake them except by using one's will; yet now, a mere roar from this late-stage Golden Immortal Wutie had caused the debris to tremble.
"Hoo!"
Tian Yuan took a deep breath, his eyes flashing with a brilliant light.
If sound alone could shake the debris, did this mean they could directly eliminate the impurities within the Earth Veins, and perhaps even achieve miraculous results?
The mission of the Wu Clan was truly to clear the Earth Veins. Tian Yuan felt extremely expectant.
Mount Buzhou was his greatest reliance; if this were truly the case, it meant the time required to clear the Earth Veins would be greatly reduced.
Tian Yuan was stirred with excitement, while the oncoming Wutie was already burning with rage.
This detestable stone man not only despised him but had actually become distracted, not taking him seriously at all.
On his massive fist, muscles coiled like horned dragons, and the Malevolent Qi surging upon it grew a layer thicker.
Boom! With a dull thud, Tian Yuan's body shook slightly, and a smile crept onto his honest face.
The opponent's full-force strike hadn't even shaken him, and not even a single chip of stone had been knocked off.
This Wu person was still a bit weak; he should have caught someone at the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm back then.
He remembered that in that small tribe, there seemed to be a member of the Wu Clan at the Taiyi realm. As Tian Yuan pondered this, Wutie, standing before him, was completely dumbfounded.
Although he was only at the late-stage of the Golden Immortal realm, members of the Demon Race at the Golden Immortal realm were no match for him, and even those at the Taiyi realm would not dare to take his full-force punch head-on.
In the Primordial World, when it came to physical strength alone, no one could compare to their Wu Clan.
Yet now, this ordinary stone man had not only taken his punch head-on but had also remained completely motionless.
Wutie looked at Tian Yuan's chest, where Malevolent Qi still remained; he had indeed held nothing back.
How could this be? The things happening before his eyes somewhat exceeded his imagination.
Just as Wutie was feeling bewildered, the stone man before him flashed and darted to the side.
Wutie's expression froze, and his heart filled with joy; this stone man definitely wasn't as calm as he appeared on the surface.
His punch could shatter mountains and rivers and break stars; it was impossible for the opponent to be completely fine.
The stone man must have been injured and was just using some unknown method to cover it up.
Back in the tribe, his brain had always been sharp; it must be like this.
Thinking this, Wutie let out a roar, stepped forward, rushed toward the stone man, and swung another heavy punch.
"Hmm?"
This punch missed; that detestable stone man had dodged it.
Haha, as expected, there was something fishy; this fellow might already be strong on the outside but weak on the inside.
Detestable stone man, once I capture you, I will definitely smash your body to pieces and keep your head to use as a stool.
Wutie felt somewhat excited; he knew that in the Primordial World, no one's physical body could surpass their Wu Clan.
The excited Wutie did not notice that his missed punch had happened to shatter a piece of grey debris.
The debris shattered on the ground, turning into a grey current that attached itself to his fist.
Tian Yuan, who had landed to the side, saw brilliant light erupt in his eyes.
He had dodged this strike just to see if Wutie's attacks had any effect on these foreign objects.
The result before him had already completely exceeded his imagination.
The miscellaneous stones were easily shattered, and they did not disappear in the gray light, but were instead directly absorbed by Wutie.
This undoubtedly further confirmed the guess in his heart: the mission of the Wu Clan is to comb through the Earth Veins of the Primordial World.
The Earth Veins are the meridians and blood vessels of the Primordial World, and the Wu Clan are the immune cells within the blood, eliminating all alien kinds.
Watching Wutie rush up, Tian Yuan's figure dodged once again, and a miscellaneous stone behind him was easily smashed to pieces.
"Hahaha," Tian Yuan felt refreshed in his heart and could not help but look up to the sky and laugh.
His mood was very good, very good indeed, to the point that he even felt this Wu Clan member was cute.
Having been dodged twice, coupled with Tian Yuan's unbridled laughter, Wutie guessed that he might have thought wrong.
This stone man is toying with him!
He is a dignified member of the Wu Clan; how could he be treated like a clown? Wutie glared with gnashing teeth, and Gungun Malevolent Qi spewed from his seven orifices.
With his full chest of rage having nowhere to vent, only Wutie's heaven-shaking roar remained in the Earth Vein.
Except for that very first punch, he had actually never hit the opponent again. Even though the figure was just as burly as his, it was as agile as a monkey.
Tian Yuan dodged repeatedly; almost no miscellaneous stone could withstand a punch from Wutie.
Finally, a Strange Stone attached with ten suction cups did not shatter under Wutie's strike.
Tian Yuan strode forward and discovered that the many suction cups on it were trembling slightly, clearly having loosened quite a bit.
Catching the punch Wutie threw again, Tian Yuan casually tossed him toward the distance.
He is very happy! (End of chapter)
