Chapter 27: The Great Witch Houyi
Watching another tribe in the distance being swept up by Tian Yuan, Kuafu's eyes were filled with fury.
With a roar of unwillingness, the yellow snake hanging from his earlobe suddenly darted out and vanished into the air with a *whoosh*.
Although his own dignity was important, the lives of his clansmen were at stake, and Kuafu had no other choice.
He possessed immense strength, yet he could not catch up, leaving him with nothing but a belly full of rage.
Given his own situation, dragging this out any longer would only implicate more of his clansmen.
Tian Yuan glanced at Kuafu behind him and looked around in confusion. "There are clearly many Great Witches in the Houtu Tribe, so why haven't I encountered any yet?"
He had gained much over the past hundred years or so, sweeping through hundreds of tribes, but none of them had many people.
He had yet to encounter the main force of the Houtu Tribe; at the very least, he had not seen the rumored Houyi.
Tian Yuan remembered that both Kuafu and Houyi were Great Witches of the Houtu Tribe.
While pondering, he could only marvel at the vastness of the Primordial Land.
This was only on one Earth Vein; the East had one hundred and eight Branch Veins, and the Eastern Land itself was this vast, let alone the entire Primordial World.
Shaking his head to cast aside the distracting thoughts, Tian Yuan stopped paying attention to the small tribes on either side and flew straight toward the east.
Tian Yuan estimated that the Wu clansmen of the Houtu Tribe should all be gathered ahead.
Kuafu, who was chasing behind, had not paid much attention at first, but after a while, his expression changed abruptly.
Along the way, he remembered there were many tribes on both sides; with Tian Yuan's perception, he certainly wouldn't have missed them, yet the other party ignored them completely.
"Damn it! Damn it! What exactly is this stone man trying to do?" Kuafu felt an uncontrollable rage in his heart.
The Wu Clan devouring the Demon Race and the Demon Race raiding the Wu Clan was the rule of survival, and there was nothing to say about it, but he could not figure out Tian Yuan's purpose at all.
The direction the other party was heading straight for must be toward the very front of the Wu Clan.
The tribes they had passed along the way were merely cleaning up the battlefield and declaring sovereignty; the main force was still ahead.
Opening his mouth to inhale, he retracted the Nine Heavens Breathing Soil, swept past the small tribe below, and Tian Yuan looked toward the end of his line of sight.
Decades had passed, and the mountain range still had no end in sight, which made Tian Yuan feel very depressed.
No wonder time is not recorded in the Primordial World; just traveling takes thousands or tens of thousands of years.
Glancing at his fully healed right arm, Tian Yuan wondered if he should continue flying forward.
It might take hundreds or thousands of years, which meant the return journey would take the same amount of time, unless he made a breakthrough.
"Forget it, I'll make plans after my Essence Refining Stage breaks through!" After a moment of contemplation, Tian Yuan made his decision.
A target with an unknown specific distance might have a large number of the Wu Clan, but the round trip would also consume time.
The key was that he didn't know how long this would take.
Although the scattered tribes around were all small, accumulating them would be quite beneficial.
After sweeping through the area, once he stepped into the mid-stage of the Great Luo Golden Immortal and captured Kuafu, his speed would be faster, and he could head to even more distant places.
Just as he thought about letting Kuafu temper his left hand as well, Tian Yuan's spirit suddenly trembled, and an inexplicable aura enveloped him.
Without thinking, he dove straight toward the ground. But just as he landed, the space in front of him shattered with a *boom*.
Through the pierced void, Tian Yuan faintly saw a slender figure stepping through the air toward him.
The form was no different from a human, yet it had four eyes and six arms. At this moment, one hand held a bow, the other was raised in the air, and it looked on indifferently.
The Great Witch Houyi!
This name flashed through Tian Yuan's mind instantly, and he flew out in a somewhat disheveled state; fortunately, it was not an Ancestral Witch.
He had tasted Kuafu's fists, so naturally, Houyi's arrows did not hurt him.
"Roar!"
Seeing this, Kuafu, who was chasing from behind, let out an excited howl and then shouted loudly: "Brother, this monster's physical body is comparable to a Great Witch, don't let him get away!"
The yellow snake had been gone for some time, and he had finally waited for Houyi. With his brother's help, he would definitely capture this stone man and smash him to pieces this time.
Houyi, who had crossed the void from afar, narrowed his eyes and also saw the stone man scurrying away nimbly.
He then pinched the bowstring with his right hand and plucked the void five times in succession; the space in front of him broke open, and five invisible arrows shot out.
Tian Yuan, who had escaped into the distance, was just about to take a good look at the approaching Houyi when his expression changed immediately: "Damn! Space Law!"
The Great Witch Houyi was actually practicing the Space Law!
*Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom! * Tian Yuan felt himself being hit from front to back and top to bottom, with terrifying force surging from all directions.
His physical body was fine, but because of this delay, a giant wooden staff fell from above his head.
He had been stalling Kuafu for so long, and this was the first time he had been this disheveled.
Tian Yuan let out a roar as well and swung his right arm, which was glowing with a faint white light.
*Thud! * The space beneath him shattered, and numerous trees and sand turned into nothingness. He blocked the staff Kuafu had swung in anger above his head.
"Force... the Law of Force? Impossible!" Kuafu stared fixedly at Tian Yuan's right arm, his eyes filled with disbelief.
The Law of Force represented the Father God; who else but their Wu Clan could wield it?
Moreover, when he had fought Tian Yuan earlier, he had not discovered that Tian Yuan possessed such means.
"It's just a little Law of Force, why be so surprised!" Tian Yuan raised his head, slammed his left fist heavily onto the wooden staff, and jumped out.
He had not mastered the Law of Force; it was merely the aura remaining on his arm.
Kuafu took a careful look before realizing he had been mistaken, but his expression remained grim; he felt that this arm of Tian Yuan's seemed somewhat different.
Houyi, who had arrived through the air, had already seen Tian Yuan's extraordinary nature and reached for the quiver on his back.
His arrow light and his Big Brother's power were actually unable to harm this stone man.
The arrow was as black as ink, glowing with a chilling, eerie light, and he was still pulling the string with one arm.
He released his hand, and the arrow vanished; Tian Yuan in the distance felt his heart shrink and punched the space in front of him.
The void shattered, and accompanied by a *ding* sound, an arrow glowing with silver light was deflected.
"Hiss! That hurts!" Tian Yuan bared his teeth and retreated at high speed.
Looking down, there was a clear pit on his right fist, three inches deep.
Piercing a surface with a single point, this attack from Houyi was likewise not inferior to Kuafu.
Tian Yuan was surprised in his heart, and the distant Houyi was even more shocked.
This arrow of his was refined by the Ancestral Witch after slaying a Great Luo primordial exotic beast, using its tendons and bones combined with many heavenly treasures, and had been consecrated in Pangu Temple for countless years.
This was the second time he had used it; the first one had directly slain a Great Luo Golden Immortal of the Demon Race.
Looking at that stone man grimacing in pain, it was clearly only a superficial injury.
"Brother! Do not hold back!" Kuafu let out a roar, charging forward while brandishing his wooden staff.
Having accumulated hundreds of years of rage, he wanted to unleash it all today.
Grasping at the void, the arrow returned to his palm, and Houyi reached his other arm toward his quiver, taking out two more arrows.
Together with the one in his palm, he held the bow with both arms and drew the string with both arms.
On the three pitch-black arrows, brilliant silver light flickered, and ink-black thunder snakes slithered back and forth.
Standing in the distance, Tian Yuan clearly felt himself locked onto by a powerful aura.
Is this the power of a Great Witch? Being able to toy with Kuafu the whole way was simply because the other party could not catch up to him.
