Chapter 3: The Shock of Blood Dragon
Boom!
Amidst a tremendous booming sound came a shrill howl.
Blood Dragon felt his head go blank, his entire body slamming into a pile of rubble, his internal organs feeling as if they had been crudely kneaded together.
Dust flew into the air, and the force pressing down on his body made Blood Dragon's eyes split with rage.
The stone man who had leaped down had actually... actually sat on him, pinning him to the ground.
To have his divine ability broken so easily and then be pinned in such a posture—this blatant humiliation far outweighed the impact of the opponent's gravity strike.
Tian Yuan did not have as many thoughts as Blood Dragon; he grinned, his eyes filled with irrepressible joy.
Because Mount Buzhou was of great importance, he had been hiding cautiously on the mountain for so many years and had never fought anyone at all.
Right now, this was his first battle! "It was worth tempering my physical body for so many years; it really is incredibly strong." His cultivation over these years had all gone into his physical body, and today, testing his skills, Tian Yuan was very satisfied.
The fishy wind from just a moment ago had strong corrosive properties, yet it hadn't even scraped a single speck of stone from his body.
Hearing the pained groans of the Blood Dragon beneath him, Tian Yuan rubbed his sturdy chin and slowly stood up.
Who would have thought that just as he left the ground, there was a 'bang,' blood-colored light surged in all directions, and the figure of the Blood Dragon was gone.
Blood mist dispersed, rapidly spreading toward the surroundings of the cave, accompanied by a thick, fishy odor.
Tian Yuan was not surprised; he reached a large hand into the mist, and a somewhat cold body condensed within his palm.
With a flick of his right arm, the long figure of the Blood Dragon was dragged out, and he was carried off toward Mount Buzhou by his tail.
Blood Dragon felt the world spinning, his somewhat muddled head rolling constantly in the air, while his heart felt incomparably aggrieved.
He had been quietly cultivating in his cave dwelling when some guy inexplicably barged in and dragged him away without a word.
The powerful force coming from his tail, along with the situation just now, indicated that the opponent's cultivation was clearly above his own.
Stone men were just very common creatures in the Primordial World; those that were slightly more powerful basically ended up as materials for artifact refining, and even if they were lucky enough to attain the Dao, they would shed their original form—this one before him was too strange.
"Fellow Daoist! We have no grudges or enmity, why capture me?" Blood Dragon asked urgently with a mournful face.
He was not very old, only a few tens of thousands of Great Eras. He was born at the end of the Dragon Han First Tribulation and had not been tainted by too much Calamity Sha; all these years he had focused on quiet cultivation and never made enemies.
The opponent's origin was contrary to his own, so there was no reason to specifically come to take him; Blood Dragon could not figure it out.
"Don't panic! I said I would grant you a great fortune!" Tian Yuan did not look back, hopping and skipping as he picked up speed.
Blood Dragon's mouth twitched, his expression shifting between light and dark. To be dragged along the ground like this—where was the fortune?
He stopped speaking, his mind contemplating a plan to escape.
He was of the Dragon Clan and naturally possessed many methods, but no matter what secret techniques he employed, that large hand gripping him remained motionless.
In a fit of rage, Blood Dragon took advantage of the jolting momentum, straightened his waist, and turned back to bite that arm.
A precise hit!
Crack!
With a crisp sound, Blood Dragon's eyes widened, staring blankly at the eight large teeth that had bounced off before his eyes.
In Dragon Clan battles, biting was essential, and the hardness of their teeth was definitely superior to their physical bodies, yet now they had actually... actually been knocked out.
How terrifying must this stone man's physical body be? No wonder this guy didn't care about his attacks at all; he hadn't taken him seriously from the start.
Realizing this, Blood Dragon was immediately filled with grief and indignation!
Knowing he was powerless to escape, Blood Dragon could only let his body go limp and allow Tian Yuan to do as he pleased; he guessed that there might be someone behind the opponent. Once he saw the direction Tian Yuan was heading, Blood Dragon's thoughts solidified.
Mount Buzhou! He had once traveled to Mount Buzhou to search for treasures, but the might within the mountain was too terrifying, and he had fled in a sorry state after staying for only a few years.
This stone man was heading straight for the Heavenly Pillar, and the person behind him might be a great master on the mountain; otherwise, how could he have grown to such a degree? Just thinking about this, Blood Dragon looked up toward the firmament.
He had heard the Dao sounds not long ago, but the Chaos was terrifying and not a place he could go.
If there was someone behind the stone man, they would surely go to the Chaos Zixiao Palace to listen to the Dao, so why would they come to capture him at this time? Filled with doubts, under the stone man's crude movements, they arrived at Mount Buzhou.
But before Blood Dragon could feel that familiar might, he suddenly saw the scene before him shift, and he appeared on a divine mountain shrouded in endless Mysterious Yellow Qi. The pressure pointing directly at his Primordial Spirit made his heart tremble violently, though it vanished in an instant.
The sky was gray and hazy, and on the distant land, there seemed to be many golden... before he could see clearly, Blood Dragon felt a wild wind whipping against his face, his body swaying violently in the whistling wind.
The stone man leaped down from the divine mountain while carrying him—how crude! A flash of golden light appeared before his eyes, and endless warmth enveloped him; his Primordial Spirit couldn't help but let out a lazy moan.
The injuries in his body were healed in an instant; Blood Dragon ignored this, his gaze staring blankly at his surroundings.
Spiritual Qi, Spiritual Qi flowing visibly to the naked eye, stretching as far as the eye could see. It was like a vast river, meandering past him, radiating a rich golden light.
"Spiritual Vein! It... it actually has such a massive Spiritual Vein." Hanging upside down in the air, Blood Dragon's eyes widened to the size of copper bells.
The Dragon Clan was a former hegemon and naturally possessed many Spiritual Veins, but none were ever this huge.
Moreover, they only used formations to guide Spiritual Qi for absorption; how could one directly enter a Spiritual Vein to cultivate? Doing so might pollute the entire Spiritual Vein.
He opened his mouth wide and could clearly feel the Spiritual Qi entering his body, but it all just flowed past without being absorbed by him.
Yet, it was this very Spiritual Qi flowing past that instantly repaired his injuries and even grew back his eight baby teeth.
Tian Yuan did not speak; he glanced at Blood Dragon and casually tossed him onto the ground.
A Spiritual Vein? This was an Earth Vein!
Earth Veins were the arteries, the main arteries, of the Primordial World; those many Spiritual Veins could only be considered capillaries.
The Primordial World was incomparably vast, and all the various Spiritual Veins were attached to the Earth Veins.
The Eastern Land had countless Spiritual Veins, but there were only three Main Veins and one hundred and eight Branch Veins, a number determined by Heaven.
Spiritual Veins were almost entirely Innate Spiritual Qi, but Earth Veins not only possessed vast Spiritual Qi but also laws, and even the origin.
Earth Veins were both tangible and intangible, and were shrouded by the will of the Primordial World; it was no wonder an ordinary person could see them, and it was normal for Blood Dragon to be ignorant.
Tian Yuan's gaze looked into the distance, where blood-colored light and ghostly light floated from time to time amidst the wisps of golden light, becoming denser the further away they were.
These were the results of the erosion by the wandering will between Heaven and Earth; they not only blocked the Earth Veins but also absorbed energy to grow stronger.
Only by removing these impurities could the Earth Veins be thoroughly cleared and purified.
Blood Dragon crawled up from the ground and couldn't help but secretly gulp; Spiritual Qi surged into his body, but it still autonomously drifted back out.
This Innate Spiritual Qi, which resembled a flowing golden river of stars, was right before his eyes, yet he simply could not absorb it.
Blood Dragon suddenly snapped back to his senses, hurriedly transforming into a young man in black, and turned to bow respectfully to Tian Yuan: "Blood Dragon greets Senior; I wonder what instructions Senior has for me?"
A great fortune, truly a massive fortune.
Occupying such a vast Spiritual Vein, this stone man is definitely a person of great divine ability.
