Chapter 125: Our Role Model

~5 min read 948 words

Sanlipu, Chen Wuji knocked on the gate of the large residence that had a small river in front and a whole row of big willow trees.

This time the one who opened the door was an acquaintance.

"You really came at a good time; the chief is just getting ready to saddle his horse and go to Xishan Village to find you." Duan Yingxiong laughed as he opened the door. After Chen Wuji entered, he turned his head and whispered, "The chief is furious because you didn't come this morning; you'd better have a solution."

"Thank you!" Chen Wuji clasped his hands.

Although I don't know why this scout of the Imperial City Department would show him kindness, I should still thank him for it.

"Don't be polite; you are a role model for us!" Duan Yingxiong squeezed his eyebrows, smiling with deep meaning.

Chen Wuji was momentarily dazed.

The meaning hidden in Duan Yingxiong's gaze was too blatant.

So obvious that a single glance could see through it without further thought.

Duan Yingxiong found out about his affair with Qin Zan Hong…

But Qin Zan Hong shouldn't go telling their subordinates about what happened between the two of them, should he?

Has Duan Yingxiong guessed it?

I also don't know if there will be any trouble; Chen Wuji inevitably felt some worry in his heart.

If Qin Zan Hong's identity were to get out, that would not be good.

"Nowhere, nowhere." Chen Wuji gave a modest, restrained laugh, "Just, sir, you shouldn't say that; I'm afraid I'll end up suffering along with you."

"I understand, I didn't say anything, right?" Duan Yingxiong laughed, patted Chen Wuji's shoulder, "You also know the chief's quarters; go on your own, I won't bring you. By the way, who is outside the door?"

"Two friends, I also have a matter I'd like to trouble Lord Qin with." Chen Wuji said.

In the Imperial City Department's premises, Chen Wuji didn't dare to casually bring Han Chunshen and Xiao Yuji inside; he could only let them wait outside for a moment, first see what Lord Qin intends, then talk.

If that woman is unwilling, then we'll discuss it again.

"In that case, I'll first ask them to wait in the front courtyard." Duan Yingxiong said.

Chen Wuji clasped his hands, "Thank you for the trouble, Lord Duan."

"Just call me Elder Brother Duan; with the chief here, I'm hardly any sort of superior." Duan Yingxiong waved his hand without pretension and went ahead.

Chen Wuji stepped through the Baopingmen gate and entered the courtyard where Lord Qin resided.

Just as he entered, he saw a flash of bright red skirt dancing in the courtyard, like a dazzling startled swan.

Lord Qin was practicing martial arts.

Although she is an extremely alluring and slender woman, she wields twin blades.

The long, slender sabers she wielded flashed only blade-light, no blade-shadow, their cold gleam like fiery trees and silver blossoms.

Before Chen Wuji could steady his steps, that red figure lunged at him like lightning, brushing past and arriving before him in an instant.

Immediately, twin blades were set against Chen Wuji's neck, one on each side, pinning his throat; with this posture, even the slightest movement would draw blood.

Lord Qin's face was cold as frost as he approached Chen Wuji, his demonic eyes fixed on him, and he demanded in a low voice, "When did you say we would meet?"

"Today!"

"Then why didn't you come this morning?"

Chen Wuji felt wronged: "You never specified a time; if you had, I would surely have come this morning. You can't blame me for this trouble."

"But I thought I said from this morning onward," Lord Qin said coldly.

"But I didn't know."

"You should have known." Lord Qin sheathed his blades, shoved Chen Wuji hard, "Still dare to argue? Go inside."

Chen Wuji wanted to say, "How is this quibbling? This is just plain fact."

But reasoning with this hot-headed fellow seemed impossible.

Forget it; let her have her way. Who asked for such a gap in status? As long as she's happy.

Chen Wuji entered Lord Qin's study.

"Take off!"

Lord Qin, gripping that face capable of bewitching all directions, slammed the door shut with a bang.

Chen Wuji genuinely felt what it was like to be a duck.

Reborn, I'm a free-range duck in the era of Da Yu?

Chen Wuji obediently took off his clothes and, as an aside, asked, "Want me to help you?"

Lord Qin snorted, glaring at Chen Wuji with his eyes.

Is this an offer to help or not?

After a moment's hesitation, Chen Wuji stepped forward and untied Lord Qin's belt.

The outer robe fell open to either side, revealing the similarly red undergarment inside.

Lord Qin showed no reaction, merely staring at Chen Wuji.

Seeing this, Chen Wuji proceeded to undo the sash of the undergarment.

The inner doublings were likewise red, only a lighter shade, embroidered with a plum blossom.

This woman actually wore a full set.

Red robe, red skirt, red undergarment, red doublings—red throughout, almost transparent.

Just her face isn't red at all, losing a bit of cuteness.

Chen Wuji's hand slipped into the undergarment.

"What are you dawdling about? How did you do it on the mountain that day? Today are you lacking strength or did an injury soften your bones?" Lord Qin suddenly said displeased.

Chen Wuji raised an eyebrow, "Isn't that what you yourself said?"

"It was my order; I command you to keep doing it now." Lord Qin raised his brows.

"Fine!"

Chen Wuji nodded.

She actually still has such a quirk; this is very easy to handle.
