"The vow of no evil paths in the land; the vow of not falling into evil paths."

"When I become a Buddha, all living beings in the ten directions... who possess the root of virtue and cannot realize non-retrogression in the Buddha-dharma, I shall not take true enlightenment."

They issued a total of Forty-Eight Great Vows!
