Chapter 300: Tongtian's Arrogance, Yuanshi's Displeasure, Chen Ku Secludes Himself Again?!

~14 min read 2,659 words

In this competition, the Buddhist sect can be said to have overwhelmingly suppressed the Daoist orthodoxy of the Three Purities.

Not bad; although only five rounds of sparring, the Buddhist sect's disciples can be said to be all‑talented.

Hiss... Everyone, don't forget, the participants this time are not yet all of the Buddhist sect's disciples.

Moreover, there are not a few who are even stronger.

The sound of beings' discussion never ceased.

Before this, beings only knew that the Buddhist sect's teachings were grand and vast, encompassing all things and embracing all beings.

But only after seeing it with their own eyes did they learn that, in fact, within the Buddhist sect, it could be said that a hundred flowers bloom and myriad Dao resonate.

More importantly.

Beings are well aware that, within the Western Buddhist sect, Dizang has not yet returned.

If he were to appear, he would be an existence capable of standing toe‑to‑toe with an ancient mighty one like Ran Deng.

Furthermore, other disciples such as Dashizhi, Riguang Buddha, and Yueguang Buddha also did not appear.

Needless to say, Chen Ku, the chief disciple of the Buddhist sect, also did not make a move.

In other words, the Western Buddhist sect's foundation and accumulation had not previously been fully revealed.

It is no exaggeration that, after this event, the Buddhist sect's reputation rose like the midday sun, reaching an unprecedented peak that shook the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths.

On the other side.

Hearing the beings' discussion and astonishment, the Three Purities' expressions were also not good.

"Damn it!"

"I never expected that this time it would let the Buddhist sect steal all the limelight."

Yuanshi grit his teeth in secret, feeling indignant, and said thus.

The sparring match was proposed by the Three Purities themselves.

But looking at it now, they actually took the initiative to show up, becoming a stepping stone for the Buddhist sect.

Laozi's expression, meanwhile, was extremely solemn.

"No need to feel down or disheartened!"

"This time, we at least managed to catch a glimpse of the Buddhist sect's foundation."

"In the future, the Three Purities' Daoist orthodoxy should also strive to strengthen, so that one day we may surpass the Buddhist sect again."

The Three Purities, being exalted saints, will naturally not be left dispirited by this minor setback.

On the contrary, after this event, the Three Purities have become even more wary of the West.

At the same time, they have also become more determined, vowing to strengthen the Three Purities' Daoist orthodoxy and properly nurture their respective disciples.

Given time, it is not impossible that they could once again overshadow the Buddhist sect's influence.

Hearing these words, Yuanshi's expression eased slightly, and he nodded in agreement with Tongtian, endorsing what Laozi said.

"All right, this matter is over!"

"We too should return to Kunlun Mountain!"

Passage.

The longer they stay here, the more it will only provoke endless discussion among beings, thereby strengthening the Buddhist sect.

Having spoken, the Three Purities immediately set off, taking their respective disciples and flying away through the sky, disappearing above the high heavens.

Seeing this, beings also bade them farewell in turn.

"This discussion of the Dao has let the Buddhist sect's profound and mysterious teachings open this palace's eyes wide."

"The discussion of the Dao is over; this palace now takes its leave."

After the Three Purities departed, Nüwa also spoke softly thus.

Jieyin, Zhunti, Hongyun, and Chen Ku, among others, likewise responded politely, seeing Nüwa off.

However, before Nüwa left, she also did not forget to take along Lu Ya, who insisted on staying in the Buddhist sect, once again bringing him with her.

This scene made Chen Ku unable to help shaking his head and laughing.

After the Four Saints departed, the immense pressure of the Western heaven and earth, deep as an abyss, also suddenly lessened considerably.

Yet, upon the earth, countless beings stood motionless at this moment, yet they did not also simply disperse in a bustle.

Seeing this, Jieyin, Zhunti, and the others exchanged a glance and also understood what the beings had in mind.

"Beings, if you wish to remain in the West, our Buddhist sect will accept you all!"

"From now on, as long as you abide by the rules of our Western Buddhist sect, that will suffice."

Jieyin spoke, and the Great Dao transmitted sound, thus proclaiming to countless beings.

Upon these words.

The beings' eyes indeed lit up, and they were immensely excited.

"We thank the Saint for his grace!"

"I wish to stay, and in the future return to the West to revere the Buddhist sect!"

"Haha, from now on, this Western heaven and earth shall be my cultivation ground!"

"We will faithfully follow the Saint's edicts and will never violate the Western sect's rules!"

In just an instant, countless beings eagerly declared their willingness to remain in the Western heaven and earth.

Gazing out, shadows flickered, thick and dense.

And the voices, one after another, rang out like exploding thunder, shaking the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, deafening the deaf and awakening the mute.

Boom!

Boom!

In the vague, celestial music resounded.

Chen Ku and the others clearly saw vast amounts of fortune gathering, manifesting above the high heavens, as if substantive.

Thereafter, the fortune poured downward and was also bestowed upon Chen Ku and a few others' bodies.

In an instant, their auras became even more vast, their bodies radiant, profoundly mysterious.

This wave increased the Western fortune by thirty or forty percent.

It can be said that everyone in the Buddhist sect benefited greatly.

Jieyin and Zhunti stood proudly self-satisfied, surveying the surrounding scene.

"Hehe, not bad, not bad......"

"The Sage's Dao lineage, fortune is indeed its greatest foundation."

Jieyin felt this way.

Upon hearing this, Hongyun and Chen Ku also nodded.

"From now on, the cultivation of all beings in the West will achieve twice the result with half the effort."

"And we will also receive even more tremendous feedback, making the difficulty of increasing our strength greatly reduced."

Chen Ku responded thus.

For the Sage's Dao lineage, or for Sage-level experts, the importance of fortune goes without saying.

The stronger the fortune, the stronger their strength, and the speed of improvement also increases!

In short, this time the sages' discussion of the Dao, and granting spiritual fruit to all beings, the West has definitely profited.

Moreover, they have profited immensely.

The Western faction presents a thriving, flourishing scene.

Meanwhile, the Three Pure Ones, who have already returned, appear rather gloomy and sorrowful.

"From today onward, I wish to study that so-called Buddhist Dharma and comprehend the subtlety of Western cultivation."

"Taking strengths to offset weaknesses, perfecting oneself, only then can one be complete and flawless."

Laozi said this, his tone rather heavy.

Obviously, Laozi no longer harbors any slight contempt for the Western Buddhist sect.

Moreover, he openly admits that the Buddhist sect's teachings indeed have worthwhile aspects.

However, Yuanshi still feels some disdain for this, sneering as he replies:

"Elder brother, that Buddhist Dao is ultimately just a minor path."

"Our Three Pure Ones' Dao, if it can prove the Dao and become a sage, is already recognized by heaven and earth."

"In my view, it is still best to wholeheartedly cultivate one's own Dao; that is the proper way!"

Perhaps due to the previous failure to suppress the Buddhist sect, Yuanshi's words now are even sharper, and he does not regard the Buddhist Dao at all.

Upon hearing this, Laozi frowned, seeming somewhat displeased.

"Second brother, you must not be so arrogant!"

"Choosing the good to follow, seeing the worthy and aspiring to be like them, we absolutely must not be overly conceited."

"Otherwise, would it not be self‑isolating, making it hard to perceive the profundity of other Dao lineages?"

Laozi's words already carry a tone of rebuking Yuanshi.

He knows that this second brother of his has always regarded himself as supremely high, with an attitude of looking down upon all beings.

But such a nature often develops into contempt for everything, which ends up harming oneself.

Upon hearing this, Yuanshi, though still somewhat unwilling, gave a cold snort and said no more.

To the side, Tongtian appeared completely indifferent, not taking it to heart.

"Hehe, regardless of whether that Buddhist Dao is profound or not."

"But before our Jie Sect, it still cannot be called invincible in the world."

"When my sect's disciples deploy their formations, they will still have to make those Buddhist disciples bow their heads and admit defeat."

"Arrogant!"

At this moment, Tongtian's face is full of arrogant pride.

After all, in the previous five rounds of sparring, only our Jie Sect's disciples rightfully earned victory.

Moreover, they made the West voluntarily lower their heads and admit defeat.

In such a comparison, within the Three Pure Ones' Dao lineage, the Jie Sect has also become the most prominent branch.

Seeing Tongtian like this, Yuanshi instantly became furious.

"Hmph, winning by formations already carries suspicion of opportunistic trickery."

"Moreover, isn't your Jie Sect's chief disciple also defeated utterly?"

Yuanshi said this, as if a basin of cold water were poured directly over Tongtian's head.

Previously, while in the West, Yuanshi still had reservations, unwilling to show any rift among the Three Pure Ones under the gaze of the multitude.

But now, with no outsiders present, Yuanshi cannot bear to see Tongtian so pleased and oblivious.

A single sentence is also a direct stab at Tongtian's sore point.

Immediately, Tongtian's expression stiffened, also full of indignation.

"Elder brother Yuanshi, how can this be called opportunistic trickery?!"

"The way of formations is originally one of the Great Daos of my Jie Sect's cultivation."

"Furthermore, if it were not for my disciple Yunxiao displaying great divine power, we Three Pure Ones would have been completely suppressed by the Buddhist sect."

Tongtian argued forcefully on principle.

In an instant, Laozi's face darkened, his head full of black lines.

"This fucking......"

These two brothers of mine seem to be about to start another round of argument.

Seeing that Yuanshi still wanted to continue speaking, Laozi sank his face and spoke.

Enough!

Now the Western Buddhist sect is powerful, yet you two still harbor thoughts of internal strife?!

With this time, it would be better to properly impart the Dao to your own disciples, so they can swiftly raise their cultivation and surpass the Buddhist sect's disciples.

Laozi rebuked Yuanshi and Tongtian.

Faced with this dignified and magnificent elder brother, the two finally fell silent, somewhat unwillingly, and stopped the argument.

However, what Laozi said also makes sense.

Having witnessed the omnipotence of the Western disciples and their overwhelming strength, it also aroused the ambition of the Three Pure Ones to teach their own disciples.

No longer speaking further, the Three Pure Ones dispersed here, to propagate the Dao and impart its profound principles to their own disciples.

For a time, amidst Kunlun Mountain, the cultivation atmosphere of the three teachings flourished greatly; immortal light shone brilliantly, illuminating the universe, indescribably miraculous and magnificent.

Speaking of the Western heavens and earth!

This place has already completely restored the ancient tranquility and harmony.

The difference is that, looking far into the distance, the Western sentient beings have grown by thousands of times.

Almost in every region of the Western territories, there are figures of cultivators, deeply contemplating the profound principles of the Buddhist sect.

At the summit of Mount Sumeru.

Only Jieyin, Zhunti, Hongyun, Chen Ku, and Zhenyuanzi, among other top-tier powerhouses, remained.

This seat has thanked all the sages and fellow Daoists!

This discussion of the Dao has given me profound insight and great benefit.

Next, I will enter seclusion and not emerge, to comprehend its profound meaning.

Zhenyuanzi said this solemnly.

His bow was not only to the Three Saints of the Buddhist sect, but also thanks to Chen Ku.

Although Zhenyuanzi said he did not join the Buddhist sect, his dojo is after all in Two Realms Mountain, and his cultivation is in the Western heavens and earth.

Thus, it is also unavoidable to begin comprehending the profound principles of the Buddhist sect.

Yet this gathering of sages discussing the Dao surpasses his tens of thousands of years of bitter cultivation.

In seclusion, digesting it will surely yield astonishing gains.

After bidding farewell to Jieyin, Zhunti, and the others, he hurriedly turned and left, returning to the foot of Two Realms Mountain, to the Five Villa Observatory.

And it's not only Zhenyuanzi preparing to enter seclusion.

Watching his departure, Hongyun also gave a rather emotional smile.

After this matter, this poor Daoist will also enter seclusion!

I suppose that when I emerge from seclusion, my sage cultivation will also be thoroughly consolidated.

Needless to say, Hongyun also gained much in this discussion of the Dao.

The years in which he attained the Dao were ultimately later than those of Jieyin, Zhunti, and the others, and his sage realm is not yet completely stable.

But with the insight gained from this discussion of the Dao, all of this is no problem.

Thus, Hongyun also turned and left.

After a moment, only Jieyin, Zhunti, and Chen Ku remained in the venue.

Jieyin gazed deeply at Chen Ku.

Disciple, in this discussion of the Dao, do you have any insights?!

Jieyin asked thus.

Compared to Zhenyuanzi, Hongyun, and others, Chen Ku is undoubtedly the one that Jieyin is most concerned about.

Upon hearing this, Chen Ku did not directly answer.

After pondering for a moment, he then raised his head to look at Jieyin and Zhunti.

Master, Master Uncle!

The disciple also prepares to temporarily leave the Western heavens and earth to enter seclusion.

Upon these words being spoken.

Jieyin and Zhunti's eyes instantly brightened.

Chen Ku also wants to enter seclusion?!

Moreover, he does not plan to enter seclusion within the Western Buddhist sect?!

They clearly know that Chen Ku cultivates the Primordial Dao.

In that case, could it be that this kid is going to continue breaking through?!

But.... Chen Ku is currently at the peak of the Primordial Golden Immortal; advancing one step further would truly be a Primordial Great Luo Golden Immortal.

Which is equivalent to the existence of a sage-level being.

Disciple, have you indeed sensed some opportunity?!

Jieyin was overjoyed and all the more eager to inquire.

Zhunti also immediately spoke.

Martial nephew, do you require our protection of the Dao?!

Evidently, as long as Chen Ku can break through, in one fell swoop he can prove the Dao as a Primordial Great Luo Golden Immortal.

Then Jieyin and Zhunti, as esteemed sages, would not spare effort to protect Chen Ku's Dao.

All of this is completely worthwhile.

However, regarding Zhunti's good intentions, Chen Ku merely shook his head slightly.

He gave a faint smile and said:

Hehe, I'm just trying it out; there's no need to have too great hopes.

No need for the master and grand-master to accompany me.

After a pause, Chen Ku glanced at the Western beings and continued:

Now, the Western sentient beings have grown much stronger!

The master and grand-master should still guard the Buddhist gate, sort out the qi flow, gather merit, and so on—that is the important matter.

Such an opportunity for a great flourishing of the qi flow is one we must not miss.

Chen Ku's words are also reasonable.

Jieyin and Zhunti merely pondered briefly, then nodded, with no objection.

Moreover, the two also suddenly thought of it.

Our disciple (grand-disciple) does indeed command many miraculous methods.

Just the Myriad Wonderful Gate, once unleashed, besides the Dao Ancestor, other sages might not be able to detain Chen Ku.

Jieyin and Zhunti also need not worry too much.

Thus the matter was decided.

Chen Ku was also decisive and prompt; he immediately set off, heading toward the distant skies.

The vast Western heavens and earth also became completely tranquil.
