Chapter 193: White Tiger Leaves the West

After sending off the many water gods, Di Jun then turned back to stand beside Qi.

Seeing Di Jun now full of confidence, Qi couldn't help but speak critically:

All things in the world, if they are to operate, must have their own laws; placing these laws within a faction becomes the principle of its operation.

Now that you plan to officially appear in the Primordial Wilderness, how should the faction you founded operate? Do you have any ideas at present?

Among the gods, what differences are there in status and responsibility? Everyone is proud and arrogant; can those in higher positions truly be convincing?

For now, we have only just begun; many things still need to be prepared early.

Di Jun put away his earlier self-satisfied expression, intending to ask Qi what he thought, but seeing Qi already turn and leave, his voice came from the night sky:

Although we say status is equal, this is ultimately your undertaking; you must still consider these things yourself, don't fear mistakes—we can bear the cost of trial and error.

If you want to build an astonishing achievement, smooth sailing is impossible; give it proper thought.

I am weary; when you have figured out the structure, come talk to me again.

Having said that, Qi disappeared from Di Jun's field of vision and returned to his dwelling.

Di Jun smiled helplessly, kept the words in mind, and likewise walked toward his room.

Considering this matter requires a clear mind, but his current state is clearly unsuitable; there is no rush, and the matter can wait until he awakens to be considered again.

I'm tired, going to sleep.

Di Jun's voice rang out in the night sky, and Yunmze Marsh fell back into tranquility.

Xifang Dalu.

Shaohao frowned tightly, his heart heavy with worry; although he sat cross-legged on the mat, he felt no sense of entering meditation at all.

After a long while, a sigh finally sounded in the quiet space; only Shaohao's voice echoed in the darkness, saying: "A decision must be made; continuing to wait is merely a slow death."

Shaohao rose from the quiet chamber, walked to the top of the White Tiger Tribe Hall, sat alone in a high place, supported his forehead with his hand, and closed his eyes tightly.

Only when dawn came did a cleaning servant discover Shaohao's whereabouts, hearing him say: "Summon all the tribal elders and leaders; let them come to the hall to hold a meeting and discuss, for now the Tiger Tribe faces a matter of life and death, and we must all consult together on the path forward."

The servant immediately knelt and said: "Yes."

After saying that, Shaohao closed his eyes again, pondering where the Tiger Tribe should go in the future.

The servant then immediately turned and left, seeking the tribal elders to inform them of Shaohao's order and have them notify the others.

The Tiger Tribe is widely dispersed; over ten thousand years, they have barely managed to gather most of the elders, while those who failed to arrive are mostly living in remote borderlands or have pressing affairs.

Shaohao, seeing that all who could arrive had done so, then spoke: "Everyone, the Tiger Tribe already suffered great loss in the Great Calamity, and Xifang Dalu has also endured disaster, making it long unsuitable for continued survival."

"Even the land where the royal family resides has lost all its Sharp Metal Qi; therefore I have gathered you all solely for this matter: where should the Tiger Tribe go from here?"

"I have already decided to leave Xifang Dalu and seek a suitable place for the tribe's survival."

"However, I have not yet firmly decided which continent to migrate to in order to provide living space for the majority of the tribe."

Upon hearing Shaohao's words, after a moment of silence in the hall, an uproar erupted, with everyone finding it hard to accept.

One person stepped forward and said: "Chief, must we truly relocate? Abandoning our ancestral land and the environment of our past lives—is it worth it?"

Shaohao raised his brows to look, seeing that the person was already old and frail, feeling a twinge of reluctance, yet he still spoke:

"It must be so; the west now is utterly unsuitable for the Tiger Tribe's survival. Look—yellow earth fills the sky, ravines crisscross the shattered mountains and rivers, living beings are scarce; can the tribe truly still live here?"

"Our Tiger Tribe excels at conquest but not at management; moreover, the current state of the western heavens and earth cannot be restored by a single tribe's power."

"With no vitality left, the red soil stretches for millions of li; the west is no longer the fertile land it once was, making survival difficult for the tribe."

"You should know that since the Great Calamity, the tribe's numbers have not increased for a long time."

Shaohao likewise did not wish to leave this place where he had lived long, to go to unknown lands to open new hunting grounds, but he truly could see no hope of recovery for the west.

The current situation in the west is far worse than that of the north after the past Beastly Calamity.

Although the northern continent was damaged back then, at least the three tribes participated, patching gaps everywhere, purifying heaven and earth, and after countless aeons, it only slightly improved.

But who now will step forward to salvage the western continent?

The three tribes have gone into seclusion, or rather have been diminished by the reckoning of the Primordial Wilderness' beings; they are already powerless to change the present state, let alone come to repair the western continent.

Likewise, the northern continent saw the final great war between the Dragon Clan and the Qilin Clan, which nearly returned the three tribes' efforts in the north to square one.

The earth veins are likewise shattered, heavenly calamity qi spreads, living beings suffer bitterly, and poverty is extreme.

Its condition is only slightly better than the west's, but the north is a bitterly cold land, full of hardships; nevertheless, the northern beings have long grown accustomed, and through joint effort, the hope of recovery is somewhat greater than that of the west.

"Next, we will vote by show of hands: the northern continent, the southern continent, and the eastern continent—between us there must be a choice."

"Or we could split into three groups, each heading elsewhere, but in any case, the western continent cannot be retained any longer."

"As chief of the Tiger Tribe, I must bear responsibility for the people and open a path of survival for them."

"Rather than clinging to this so-called ancestral land and letting the tribe perish slowly along with the continent!"

The crowd fell silent; seeing no one speak, Shaohao directly said:

"Since none of you have objections, let us begin the vote: those in favor of the east, raise your hands."

About half of those present raised their hands.

"Those in favor of the south, raise your hands."

"Those in favor of the north, raise your hands."

Shaohao's expression darkened; regardless, some raised their hands in vote, while others abstained.

Scanning the crowd, Shaohao added: "Those in favor of splitting the forces, raise your left hand; those in favor of going together as one, raise your right hand; a vote must be taken."

The vast majority favored splitting the forces; seeing this, Shaohao later said: "Since the majority has decided to split, you may each decide which continent to go to; in the near future I will visit the innate divine sages on the three continents, hoping they can show us a way."

"When I return, I hope you have already chosen your goals, each returning to your tribes, gathering the people, and making preparations for migration; then we may disband."

As his words fell, Shaohao was the first to leave the hall, leaving the crowd to continue communicating, trying to find like-minded individuals to go together.
