242. Chapter 242: Rumors and Stance

West Kunlun

Profound Yin Great Dao

Lord of West Kunlun

Supreme Innate Spiritual Treasure Kunlun Mirror

Donghuang Taiyi

Only regarding innate talent—I may consider myself fairly talented, but compared to the many heroes of the Primordial Wasteland today, I can only be deemed not foolish.

the Wilderness

the Heavenly Court

Five Sovereigns

Three Pure Ones

Hongyun Zhenyuanzi

Minghe

As for establishing a way to prove the Dao, that is even more out of reach; with my present cultivation, even entertaining such a notion would only invite ridicule.

Gouhui

Luwu

Honored One

Your Excellency need not undervalue yourself; your talent and intellect are certainly not inferior to others, and your innate talent is exceptionally high, making even us hesitate to approach.

Not displaying one's reputation now is merely a temporary difficulty; a hidden dragon in the abyss does not contend for immediate gain, but plans for the day it will soar to the heavens.

Now that Your Excellency understands my resolve, I, Luwu, will first retreat; knowing my shallow foundation for this lecture, I will not attend—Your Excellency would do better to set out early.

As for the affairs of Western Kunlun, Your Excellency need not worry; I, Luwu, will personally guard the home gate, and no external evil will disturb it.

Gouhui fell silent, wanting to persuade him to go together, yet did not know how to speak.

During the previous second lecture, Luwu had already found it rather taxing; what he gained from the last lecture had not been fully digested, and now going to receive even more profound knowledge would undoubtedly only hinder himself.

Although this lecture is extremely important, facing such clear-minded and self-possessed Luwu, Gouhui ultimately could only choose to go to Chaos alone.

the Sea of Blood

Twelve-grade Karmic Fire Red Lotus

Yuantou A Bi Twin Swords

Beneath his feet, the innate twelfth-grade karmic-fire red lotus emitted a scarlet radiance, dim yet brimming with killing intent; paired with the Yuan-tian Abyss Twin Swords tightly gripped in his hand, it was utterly murderous.

Minghe's expression was cold and stern; though he appeared youthful, the killing intent and blood qi permeating his escape light caused many innate deities who saw him to keep their distance.

Although they had never seen him, they also slapped on him the label of being hard to provoke, a ferocious and evil demon.

Especially after seeing the twin swords tightly gripped in his hand, most believed that his journey was not to attend the lecture, but to go to Chaos to slaughter his enemies.

For this, many innate deities who saw his escape light could hardly avoid him; moreover, observing his qi as complete, it was evident he was not far from the Primordial Unity Dao, his cultivation far surpassing that of his peers.

Even compared to the Three Pure Ones, he was not lacking in the slightest; it was only his murderous aura that made everyone feel he was not someone to be easily dealt with.

The only thing that puzzled them was how such a murderous person could have never been seen by them before.

Sea of Blood

Minghe the Old Ancestor

Moreover, his conduct was said to be mysterious; whenever outsiders caught sight of him, they were usually enveloped in a murderous aura, likely having accrued much killing karma.

This also led to the fact that, although no one had ever seen Ancestor Minghe make a move, and despite his extreme seclusion, he had forged a formidable murderous reputation.

Moreover, everyone observed that his body bore no karmic entanglements, and with the karmic-fire red lotus upon him, being free of karmic burden, some called him one whose strike would surely annihilate all, leaving no karmic trace.

Yuantou A Bi Twin Swords

As for the true circumstances, outsiders cannot know; Minghe rarely ventures out, never offers an explanation, and has no friends or rivals, so outside rumors are left to spread unchecked.

Minghe moves through the Chaos currents, invisible to the probing gazes of the outside world, only his murderous qi spreading more intensely around him.

He also knows his reputation is not good now, but he is also pleased with it, for at least this reputation means few in the Primordial Wasteland dare to scheme against him.

Not to mention scheming, even when encountering the same opportunity, none dare to compete with him; most merely retreat after a single glance from him, sensing the futility.

Moreover, although outsiders mostly speculate and rumors spread, they have actually guessed a couple of truths: the Yuantian Abyss Twin Swords indeed kill without accruing karma.

Great Beast Calamity

Yet his prestige has continued to be transmitted to the present, even showing a trend of growing stronger; the Sea of Blood has likewise become a place in the Primordial Wasteland where few outsiders dare to set foot.

This discovery also caused the already life‑cherishing Minghe to care even less about his reputation, letting outsiders malign him to the point of becoming somewhat demonic.

Even because outsiders have said it for so long, he himself almost came to believe he was truly that ferocious a person; were it not for the countless lingering souls in the Sea of Blood constantly reminding him, he might well have gone out to indulge in violence.

Profound Gate

the the Zixiao Palace

Three Thousand Red Dust Guests

Minghe muttered to himself, having not attended the previous two lectures, feeling that Grandmaster Hongjun's lecture had little relevance to him, and thus he simply did not bother to go.

Grand Primordial Great Dao

However, having missed those two occasions, Minghe worried whether he might have offended Grandmaster Hongjun, causing the latter to deliberately conceal himself and refuse acceptance.

If that were truly the case, Minghe could only accept defeat, returning to the Sea of Blood to close himself off for secluded cultivation.

However, Minghe also had his own considerations; Grandmaster Hongjun's lecture would surely have a tremendous impact on the Primordial Wasteland.

Heavenly Court

Heavenly Court

Grand Primordial Dao

To help them cope with the forthcoming changes, so as to secure for himself a means to prove the Dao.

Of course, the premise is that the Heavenly Court truly possesses such means; otherwise, a trip to the Heavenly Court would merely be a visit to celebrate its majesty.

After merely listening to this lecture and polishing it a bit, they would then enter together into the state of qi, their three ways mutually verifying, filling gaps and making up deficiencies, so that their progress would be swift and stable, with few in the Primordial Wasteland able to compare.

In Qi's view, although he and Taiyi et al. have taken a step ahead for now, the Three Pure Ones will certainly be companions on the path in the future.

Heavenly Court

King's title

"Three Daoist friends, your timely arrival has us still guessing who would come."

Di Jun

Three Pure Ones

Qi et al.

The Morality (Yuanshi, Lingbao) has greeted all Your Majesties.

No need for excessive courtesy; now that we have arrived here, you and I can be considered fellow disciples, with no difference in status, and we may simply address each other as Dao friends.

Di Jun's face was full of smiles, his generous treatment of the three evident without doubt, his words showing much closeness.

The Three Pure Ones naturally understood the Heavenly Court's deep affection for them; Di Jun's desire to draw them into the Heavenly Court was not something that could be accomplished in a short time.

However, since they had no intention of participating, it was naturally difficult for them to bear such great favor.

Furthermore, Di Jun's friendly words, suggesting they address each other as Dao friends, while acceptable, inevitably carried a hint of self-importance; the three, being wise, would not act so.

Only the Primordial spoke first in response:

"Your Majesty the Heavenly Emperor's generous treatment is understood by me, the Primordial, but we are not ignorant of right and wrong, and having received the Heavenly Court's ennoblement, to do so would be rude."

Upon hearing the Primordial's words, Di Jun did not show it on his face, but undoubtedly felt some disappointment; the other party treated him with courtesy and rejected his closeness.

The Great One did not like this atmosphere, although he knew it was necessary; regarding recruitment, he preferred to invite by force, just as he had done with Bai Ze before.

Although there were some contradictions at first sight, are they not now mainstays of the Heavenly Court? As long as they endure the initial awkwardness, the ensuing tide of fortune will cause them to actively uphold the Heavenly Court's interests.

But he also knew the Three Pure Ones held a special status, having received the legacy of the Great God Pangu, making it improper to forcefully invite them, so he held little hope for their joining.

Fuxi naturally knew what Di Jun had in mind; seeing the atmosphere somewhat awkward, he voluntarily spoke to ease it:

"Esteemed Dao friends, having traveled far, you had best take your seats and rest awhile; we have long been acquainted, so there is no need for such empty courtesy."

"Many thanks, Your Majesty Fuxi."

Fuxi stretched out his hand to invite the three to be seated, and his words likewise enlivened the atmosphere, the previous awkwardness vanishing.

Hardly had they taken their seats when the Numinous Treasure Daoist curiously inquired:

"Usually, when giving lectures, Your Majesties are not late, yet they have never arrived this early; I surmise that what was said at Haotian Jade Pool before was precisely regarding the time of meeting Your Majesties."

The Great One and the Numinous Treasure Daoist were on good terms; there was nothing to hide about why they had come so quickly, so he explained:

"Exactly so; the words spoken at Haotian Jade Pool were precisely when we first met, occasionally arriving early, yet we never expected to encounter this."

"As for why we suddenly arrived early, it is nothing other than because of the Wu Clan's migration to the West."

The Numinous Treasure Daoist timely asked: "Oh? There is still such a matter? Regulating the three categories is originally a great plan of the Heavenly Court; now that the West is withering, the Wu Clan's inclusion therein is also a good thing—how could it cause Your Majesties such difficulty?"

The Great One hesitated slightly, not knowing how to explain, for the reasons were many and full of calculation; he could only glance toward Qi.

Qi, seeing this, laughed: "Those two in the West are favored by fortune; their dispositions, you Dao friends know, and when it was first decided to supplement the remaining three continents with the West, much wrangling already arose."

"Just for this matter, those two have come to the Heavenly Court seeking us many times; now this early arrival at the the the Zixiao Palace is merely because they had previously been pestered by him and found it hard to refuse, so they chose to avoid him."

"One never thinks that the Heavenly Court's schemes, extending across all realms, that even a slight fluctuation concerns billions of beings; a single character's difference, heaven knows how many complications it could provoke."

"Such profound considerations mean that every move is pondered by countless attentive souls; given the vastness of the Primordial Wilderness, those who rebel against superiors are slain without end."

"The rebels' hearts of disorder against my Heavenly Court never die; for such a vitally important matter, they refuse to cooperate and instead rashly seek to interfere."

"To imagine that the Heavenly Court's orders could be changed from morning to evening—do they not realize the immense manpower and material resources involved, their number incalculable as the stars, and how could it be made to comply?"

"Furthermore, some even wish to take the opportunity to disturb the cosmic order, to engage in profiteering, disturbing the hard-won clear and bright situation of today."

"Such foolish, dull-witted people—if they had not yet violated heavenly law, how could they be tolerated to this day?"

"We have treated them with such leniency, cherishing their good intentions, yet they repay us thus; Three Pure Ones Dao friends, what do you say of such people?"

Qi briefly explained the reasons for this, and in his words planted some subtle thoughts, wishing to learn the stance of the Three Pure Ones and the like.

Whether they lean toward the Heavenly Court, or simply have no other feelings?

Upon hearing this, the Three Pure Ones' eyes flickered with some difficulty; yet they had witnessed the Heavenly Court's deeds, which, established to this day, could be said to have devoted their utmost to the Primordial Wilderness.

However, over seventy aeons have brought an influence upon the Primordial Wilderness far deeper than during the time of the three clans.

Moreover, spanning the four realms, when they took over, the sight was one of utter devastation; now they have restored considerable vital energy, so that evil demons dare not show their faces.

These are things the three clans never accomplished during their rule; furthermore, they established heavenly laws and statutes to regulate the customs of the Primordial Wilderness, and so on.

Although not widely spread throughout the world, these have all entered the eyes of these innate divinities; while their handling of the West may be somewhat biased, for these Eastern newcomers among the heavenly divinities, it is just right.

To make them conceal their intentions and not display the Heavenly Court's achievements as their own stance undoubtedly constitutes a denial of the merits of the five sovereigns.

Furthermore, they too have received the Heavenly Court's ennoblement and generally appreciate its conduct; yet as ascetics, they also find it improper to openly show support.

Now the five Heavenly Emperors all cast their gazes upon them, and in this moment the Three Pure Ones felt an immense weight of pressure.

At this moment, the Three Pure Ones began to resent the Numinous Treasure Daoist (themselves) for speaking too much.
