Chapter 50: Rebuking Fuxi
Fuxi rushed to Yunmeng Ze, discovering that many tribes around were organizing a market, trading various supplies.
He suddenly felt interested, went to the wilderness and hunted two wild beasts, also joining in.
Constantly buying and selling, in over ten years he actually became a famous wealthy merchant of Yunmeng Ze.
Only when bumped into by Bai Ling did his wealthy merchant career end.
"Great god, why did you come to Yunmeng Ze to trade? My master has been out of seclusion for many days and is still thinking of coming to find you."
Listening to Bai Ling's words, Fuxi felt as if he had been caught doing something wrong.
"Seeing Yunmeng Ze extraordinarily lively, I suddenly felt interested and gave it a try."
Fuxi still explained.
In the Lotus Pond Pavilion, Qi and Fuxi sat opposite each other playing chess.
"How could you bear to leave Nüwa alone and come out?"
Qi was a little curious.
In his view, Taiyi and Di Jun, Nüwa and Fuxi as two pairs, are inseparable all day long.
"I have to go out; if I don't come out for a walk, I won't be able to stay on Phoenix Perch Mountain."
Fuxi gave a bitter smile.
Seeing Qi doubtful, he explained again:
"You also know that Nüwa has deep blessings and many spiritual treasures, but you don't know that Nüwa has always been exceptionally talented, without any setbacks."
"During the previous trip to the North, in the midst of the great calamity, the fact that we could not change gave her some stimulation, and she has devoted herself to secluded practice ever since."
"But we are ultimately not northern beings; a temporary stimulation can be empathized with, but cannot be maintained forever."
"She is also not like the Taiyi Dao friend, who likewise has supreme talent, deep blessings, but an extraordinarily resolute heart for seeking the Dao."
Qi, upon hearing this, also sighed:
"The Taiyi Dao friend's steadfast Dao heart is rare in the world."
Taiyi is the only one among several people who has never slackened from beginning to end.
Qi then hurriedly asked:
"What does that have to do with you coming out? You even went to Yunmeng Ze to sell fish for over ten years, becoming a famous merchant there."
Fuxi, seeing this, could neither laugh nor cry.
"It was just a passing interest of mine; a little carelessness, and I ended up giving you something to talk about."
It seems his merchant business won't be over soon, but it's no big deal; at most it's just a few jokes among friends.
He also explained to Qi:
"If I don't come out again, seeing me idle, I'm afraid Nüwa won't be able to hold her temper and will actively pull me to come find you."
"By then I would probably be unwilling to refuse; it would be better for me to come out early, saving this matter and letting her cultivate in peace, for I have indeed spoiled her too much before."
Qi nodded in agreement.
"You say you spoil Nüwa too much, yet you have abandoned yourself completely; Nüwa's heart for seeking the Dao, while not strong, at least exists."
"Fuxi, you are too lax in your pursuit of the Dao."
Qi, with a solemn expression, admonished Fuxi.
Hearing these words, Fuxi froze for a moment, "Me? Too lax in the Dao?"
Looking at Qi before him, Fuxi thought of Di Jun, Taiyi, and them, each of whose pursuit of the Dao seemed never-ending.
Seeing Fuxi still dazed, Qi then said:
"In the Ferocious Beast Calamity, everyone's feeling of helplessness is still before our eyes; I left seclusion because, for the coming period, closed-door cultivation would be meaningless for me."
"What I currently lack is the accumulation of life cultivation; on the Dao I am already complete, and in a short time my realm cannot advance—I have reached the limit of what I can achieve so far."
"What remains can only be polished by time; why did you leave seclusion?"
"I observe that your breath has not yet been perfected; your talent and foundation are extraordinary, and you possess only a top-grade innate spiritual treasure, the Fuxi Qin, with your mind and spirit still ample."
"You also know that Nüwa has many spiritual treasures; given her mind and spirit, she cannot possibly refine them all completely, so even if half were given to you, refining them all would be extremely difficult."
"Don't you think this is too wasteful, not having considered sharing some? Even as an Innate Divine Sage, so many spiritual treasures cannot be used at will."
"This is not only a waste of resources, but the meaning of spiritual treasures has changed from protecting the Dao to becoming a burden."
"Do you really practice closed-door cultivation? As an Innate Divine Sage, don't you feel you are wasting your own talent too much?"
"You really have closed-door cultivation? As an innate divine being, don't you feel it's too wasteful of your talent?"
Qi turned and walked toward the mountain gate, then suddenly turned back and said to Fuxi:
"If you want to practice closed-door cultivation, there's still an empty space beneath the Lotus Pond."
Fuxi sat in the pavilion for a day, lowered his head to glance at the chessboard, and scoffed:
"If you want to run away, just say so directly; why give me a lecture?"
With a solemn expression, he picked up the chess pieces one by one, then sighed:
"Yes, Fuxi, you are also too lax in the Dao; your fellow travelers are all firm-hearted seekers of the Dao—where do you get the capital to be lax?"
He turned and walked into the Lotus Pond.
Looking at Qi's secluded chamber, the pond bottom is dark without sky, as if back when time was undetermined, forever a hazy gray expanse.
Looking at Qi's closed-door cultivation chamber, the pool's bottom is dark and sunless, as if, like before when the time was not yet set, forever a expanse of gray mist.
"It really is a good place."
He sat cross-legged and began closed-door cultivation!
After a hundred years, Di Jun finally arrived at Yunmeng Ze.
"So you, as the esteemed Water God of Yunmeng Ze, now running to the market to sell goods, is it to give Fuxi the Dao Chang for closed-door cultivation?"
So you, a mighty Water God of Cloud Dream Marsh, are now hawking wares at the market— is it to have Fuxi vacate the Dao Chang for closed-door cultivation?
Di Jun found it somewhat hard to accept.
A top-tier innate divine being, the water god of Yunmze Marsh, wearing a straw hat and plain clothes, was selling goods in the market?
Qi looked embarrassed.
He now understood the mindset Fuxi had when Bai Ling recognized him.
He had come out to experience life in the human world, only to be recognized by an acquaintance, and at the moment he was recognized, he was bargaining with someone.
At that moment, Qi felt as if he had done something shameful.
Upon returning to the Dao Chang, Qi finally noticed that Di Jun's aura was perfected, and he too had reached the extent he could currently attain.
After setting up the banquet, the two sat down and talked.
"So you came here on purpose just to get beaten."
Qi gave a serious summary.
Di Jun's originally handsome face instantly darkened, and he said through gritted teeth:
"What does 'coming here on purpose just to get beaten' mean? Our realms are not far apart; it's just a spar, and the outcome is still uncertain!"
Di Jun also knew he was no match for Qi, but he didn't expect Qi's words to be so unpleasant to hear.
Even though he knew Qi was saying that on purpose to provoke him, he still let Qi succeed.
"By the way, did Fuxi really leave seclusion before his Dao was perfected?"
Di Jun asked curiously.
"Hmm."
Qi nodded slightly.
"Nice scolding, sitting on a treasure mountain and unaware of it, Qi—if I ever have that day, I'll also bother you to scold me then."
Although those words, Di Jun also felt they were a bit too harsh, but as a friend, Qi was right—this indeed deserved a scolding.
"With Taiyi watching you, I'm afraid it won't be my turn."
Qi replied with a smile.
"No, if that time really comes, Taiyi will probably be the same as me."
Di Jun took this very seriously; if they truly went astray without realizing it, perhaps only Qi could awaken them.
PS: Working overtime, after finishing work I still have a meeting, sorry everyone, it's a bit late.
But I'm still shamelessly asking for votes.
