Chapter 179: Survival in the Natural Disaster System (8)

This is a sharpened dagger.

Through the photo of the dagger sent by the other party using the camera function built into the Communication Channel, Xie Yang identified it at a glance.

She immediately replied with an "ok" and sent 7 pieces of Wood over.

After receiving the sharp, cold-glinting dagger, Xie Yang thought for a moment, added the other party as a friend, and sent him some more supplies:

A 3-jin cotton quilt for spring and autumn, a pin-buckle leather belt, a jar of peanut butter with only half left, a lemon, and a fruit knife.

【My belt is very long; you can wrap the quilt around your body and fasten it with the belt to barely use it as a winter coat. PS: I don't have much food either, so please don't mind.】

How could Fu Zhangzheng mind!

He was too grateful to even express it.

Upon receiving it, he wrapped the quilt around his body and used the women's pin-buckle belt to secure it so the quilt wouldn't slide down.

Although his pants were still thin, it was much warmer than before.

And the peanut butter—to him, who had been hungry for an entire day and could only grab two handfuls of snow to stave off hunger, it was simply the most blissful food in the world; it was so fragrant and delicious!

He didn't understand what the lemon and the fruit knife were for; perhaps it was to have him cut some lemon to supplement vitamins and prevent scurvy?

Fu Zhangzheng secretly engraved Xie Yang's ID in his heart, hoping for a chance to repay her kindness for providing help in his time of need.

Xie Yang actually just wanted to return a knife to him.

She really liked the dagger he sent, and upon learning he had other self-defense weapons, she accepted it without standing on ceremony.

As for the lemon, it was purely because she still had quite a few, so she gave it away as a convenience.

After Xie Yang finished trading with Fu Zhangzheng, she received another private message.

The excellent teacher Feng Hongmei's ID was GY00333, and she sent Xie Yang a message:

【Hello, I am still 3 pieces of Wood short of upgrading, but my Gold Coins are already used up. Besides half a bottle of Mineral Water and a Small Bread, all I have left to trade is a Mineral Distribution Map of Nameless Island.】

【I know the importance of this map, so I didn't go to the World Channel to trade. You and I are both from Dragon Country, so I am willing to trade it to you. It's just that I checked, and Nameless Island belongs to a dungeon; it requires a Dungeon Secret Key to teleport there. And I don't know when the key will appear.】

【Thank you for your trust!】 Xie Yang replied to her, 【I will send you the Wood for the upgrade first. Is there anything else you need? I'll see if I can scrape it together.】

Feng Hongmei was in urgent need of sanitary pads.

Things happened suddenly last night; when she learned she would be captured into the game, she forgot that her period was coming soon. She had dressed neatly in clothes and shoes, but she was the only one who forgot to bring sanitary pads.

And the Extreme Cold weather caused her period to arrive early; she sat by the fireplace, clutching her lower abdomen in discomfort, not knowing what to do.

The 3 pieces of Wood Xie Yang sent allowed her to upgrade successfully, and with the fireplace, she felt warm all of a sudden.

Then she received a pack of overnight sanitary pads, so she didn't have to worry about leaking even with a heavy flow.

Feng Hongmei was overjoyed: 【Thank you, Big Boss! If I open any good things in the future, I will share them with you!】

Excluding Xie Yang, more than half of the other 32 Dragon Country players came to Xie Yang to trade for Wood one after another.

It didn't matter if they couldn't provide tradeable supplies for the time being; Xie Yang sent the Wood over first, letting the other party hurry to upgrade.

She always felt that once the Novice Protection Period ended, a blizzard would arrive that a Level 0 Wooden House could not withstand.

When no one else private-messaged her to trade for Wood, Xie Yang had also returned to the Wooden House.

After washing up, she sat in front of the fireplace to open the Blind Box Treasure Chest.

【Congratulations to player GY for obtaining Gold Coin*20, Iron Ore*5; they have been added to the player's backpack】

Although she didn't open an axe, opening Iron Ore was also quite good!

She could continue to craft Iron Nails!

Xie Yang embedded the Iron Ore into the slot of the Tool Bench and listened to it clanking as it began to craft Iron Nails.

The mini Iron Ore previously gifted by the Tool Bench could craft 20 Iron Nails, but the Iron Ore opened this time was in larger chunks; one piece could craft 50 Iron Nails.

5 pieces of Iron Ore meant 250 Iron Nails.

She could upgrade again!

【Shelter is upgrading, please wait!】

【Shelter upgrade successful! Reward: 100 points, 3 Attribute Points. Attribute Points can be distributed freely!】

【Congratulations to player GY for being the first to upgrade to a Level 2 Shelter! Reward: Player Blind Box Treasure Chest*1, Dungeon Secret Key*1!】

Hearing the four words "Dungeon Secret Key," Xie Yang instantly perked up.

It really was a case of getting exactly what she wanted!

She had just obtained a Mineral Distribution Map of Nameless Island this afternoon, which said a key was needed to teleport to Nameless Island; she was just worrying about where to get a key, and now it had been delivered to her!

Xie Yang picked up the key and examined it carefully.

【This is a magical key leading to Nameless Island! After activation, you can land on Nameless Island for 24 hours; once the time is up, you will be instantly teleported back to your original location. Do you wish to activate it now?】

It was getting dark, so Xie Yang planned to go tomorrow.

She put away the key and continued to look at the other rewards.

The 3 free Attribute Points must all be added to Luck Value!

After adding them, her Luck Value was 13, exceeding the player average; she hoped to open up some good luck!

She specifically went to wash her hands and sprayed some orange-scented perfume that attracts good luck onto her wrists before piously opening the Blind Box Treasure Chest.

【Congratulations to player GY for obtaining Gold Coin*50, Steel Forged Axe*1, Steel Forged Pickaxe*1; they have been added to the player's backpack】

Hey!

Her luck was not bad!

Not only did the number of Gold Coins increase and the axe get upgraded, but she also got an extra Cross Pickaxe.

The Steel Forged Axe was harder and more durable than the Cast Iron Axe and could be used 200 times.

Based on her record of felling a tree in one go, this Steel Forged Axe could help her fell 200 trees.

As for the Cross Pickaxe, that was a great tool for mining!

She had originally been wondering: if she went to the Nameless Island dungeon tomorrow and found the Iron Ore she wanted according to the Mineral Distribution Map, how would she dig it up?

Now it's great, she has a tool!

This is exactly like having a pillow handed to her when she's sleepy!

It goes to show that the Luck Value attribute wasn't added for nothing!

It was worth all her hard work chopping Wood and actively leveling up!

Xie Yang happily stroked the Steel Forged Pickaxe and admired it for a while, only remembering after a good long moment that the Wooden House had been upgraded.

Upgraded Shelter:

【Name: Comfortable and Livable Large Wooden House】

【Level: Level 2】

【Attributes: Resists blizzards below level 10, withstands low temperatures of -30℃ and above】

【Next upgrade requirements: Wood*, Iron Nail*, Volcanic Rock 1000, Red Clay*1000】

Are the requirements for the next upgrade this high?

Not only have the amounts of Wood and Iron Nail increased significantly, but Volcanic Rock and Red Clay have also been added.

The Level 2 Wooden House has greatly improved its ability to resist blizzards and cold, so she should be able to survive for quite a long time.

Although she can't gather the tens of thousands of Wood and Iron Nail needed for a while, and has no clue about the Volcanic Rock and Red Clay, it's not enough to make her feel anxious or restless.

Xie Yang looked up to examine the upgraded Wooden House; no wonder it was defined as "Comfortable and Livable"—not only had the area expanded significantly, visually reaching over a hundred square meters, but it had also upgraded from one room and one bathroom to one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, and one bathroom.

The bedroom and living room are both very spacious:

The bed in the bedroom is even larger, a full two meters wide, so she doesn't have to worry about falling off while rolling around or practicing yoga on it.

By the window, there is now an additional vanity and vanity stool;

The window has become a floor-to-ceiling window, and it also has floor-to-ceiling curtains.

Not bad, not bad; she won't have to worry about the light being too strong when she wants to sleep in in the morning.
