Chapter 712: Universal Mining System (3)

Wait!

Is there a place to bathe in the mine?

"May I ask if the tents are for our daily living? What about bathing and using the restroom?"

As luck would have it, someone asked the exact same question she had in mind.

However, before the person in charge could answer, the ring of light enveloping them suddenly emitted a blinding radiance.

【Teleportation Ring!】

The Main System shrieked in her sea of consciousness:

【It's actually teleportation equipment from the Jump Administration! No wonder it had to be recovered. This guy actually dared to steal equipment from the Jump Administration!】

Xie Yang: "..."

Good grief! The target for recovery this time really knows how to play! Not only did it boldly bind an entire planet, but it is also suspected of "theft."

"Tell me, don't you systems in the System Realm have any normal ones?" Xie Yang couldn't help but ask.

In any case, among the systems she had encountered so far, she felt not a single one was normal.

【We do! How could we not!】 the Main System said shyly, 【System is a normal system!】

Xie Yang: "..."

She shouldn't have opened her mouth to ask that.

The light emitted by the teleportation ring grew increasingly blinding, forcing everyone to close their eyes involuntarily.

When they opened them again, they found it pitch black before them.

"We've entered the Mining Star already? It's so dark! We aren't already inside the mine, are we?"

Xie Yang stood in place for a moment until she adjusted to the darkness, then carefully reached out to probe, discovering she was currently standing in a narrow passageway.

Following the passage forward for about seventy or eighty meters, a glimmer of light appeared before her, and her field of vision suddenly opened up.

A small, cramped room appeared before her, about twenty square meters in size; a lit exploration lamp hung on one wall, while a Cross Pickaxe and a crude burlap sack leaned against the corner of the other wall.

This must be the place where she would work and live for the next three years.

A Cross Pickaxe plus a burlap sack are her Mining Tools?

So crude? Nothing else?

Xie Yang set down the supply pack she was carrying on her back, felt along the walls, and tapped and knocked for a while, discovering that every wall was solid; there were no hollow secret doors.

So, there really is no place to bathe or use the restroom?

【Dear miner, today is your first day deep in the mine. The Task requirements are relatively simple, and the workload is quite light. Digging five pieces of Silver Ore or one piece of Gold Ore will allow you to rest. Any excess can be exchanged for living supplies, including but not limited to the Automated Water-Bubbling Bath Tub and the 'Flush and Clean' toilet you need.】

The Mining System began to issue the Task.

Xie Yang raised an eyebrow; so the equipment to solve the three urgent needs requires extra exchange?

And if one can't finish, one has to hold it in for the day?

No wonder the first batch of Star Citizens who returned from mining had such constipated expressions when asked about their daily life in the mine regarding eating, drinking, and relieving themselves.

They probably didn't do little in the way of relieving themselves right here in this tiny room, did they?

Xie Yang rubbed her forehead.

She did have a bath tub filled with hot spring water in her Storage Space, but how could she solve the problem of the dirty water after bathing and the waste disposal?

Her current Storage Space was full; there was no room to hold them.

She picked up the Cross Pickaxe and gave it a try.

【Congratulations to miner Xie Yang, first dig successful! Obtained Copper Ore*1】

"..."

【Congratulations to miner Xie Yang, obtained Copper Ore*1】

【Congratulations to miner Xie Yang, obtained Copper Ore*1】

After digging for several strokes in a row, she only obtained Copper Ore.

Xie Yang stopped to think and summoned the Main System: If I take gold nuggets from my own Storage Space and pass them off as Gold Ore, can I fool it?

Main System: 【... Why not try?】

If you're going to try, you might as well try; the worst that happens is it gets confiscated.

Xie Yang picked out a gold nugget from the Aircraft Cargo Hold specifically for storing gold—one the size of an adult's fist that hadn't yet been pressed into a gold bar by a Mining Robot.

【Congratulations to miner Xie Yang, obtained Gold... Huh? Why does this Gold Ore look so strange?】

Xie Yang asked back without changing her expression: "What's strange about it?"

The Mining System couldn't answer immediately; it just felt this Gold Ore was different from the ones it had received before.

It probably didn't expect someone to pass off their own stock as freshly dug Gold Ore and hand it over.

【... Congratulations to miner Xie Yang, completed today's quota Task. Choose to rest or continue mining?】

Xie Yang: "Continue."

She hadn't gotten the bath tub and toilet yet.

After digging up a string of Copper Ore and two or three pieces of Silver Ore, she once again "luckily dug up" a piece of Gold Ore, successfully exchanging it for the self-purifying Constant Temperature Bath Tub and the "Flush and Gone" toilet.

【Choose to rest or continue mining?】

This time, Xie Yang chose to rest.

The Mining System seemed somewhat regretful: 【Alright, then have a good rest. Looking forward to your performance tomorrow!】

Xie Yang smiled without a word.

Of course she would perform well tomorrow; if she didn't dig up some extra Gold Ore, how could she justify the two gold nuggets from her stock that she gave away!

However, the most pressing matter was to take the Physical Fitness Potion first.

The original body was a rather homebody young girl, and since the Garbage Star truly had no entertainment activities—unlike other inhabited stars where various themed sports were held regularly, or people would pilot private Flying Vehicles to roam between planets—she was quite sedentary.

The greatest entertainment for the Star Citizens of Garbage Star is to stay home, leech off the agonizingly slow internet speed, and surf the Star Net.

Sure enough, after digging for only a short while, her arms were so sore and aching she couldn't lift them, and her calves were trembling from exhaustion.

If she hadn't often helped her father move and lift mechanical scrap, she probably wouldn't even be able to raise the Cross Pickaxe.

In order to complete the Task and incidentally fleece the Sub-system, Xie Yang decisively bought a Physical Fitness Potion.

After buying the potion, she set up her tent right there on the spot.

The tents of the Interstellar Plane are still quite different from the ones she used before:

This tent is compact and lightweight when folded, but unexpectedly, it turns out to be a two-bedroom, one-living-room layout when opened.

She put her sleeping bag in the bedroom and placed the exchanged bathtub and toilet in the room on the other side of the living room to serve as a bathroom.

Once prepared, she blocked the Main System, drank the Physical Fitness Potion in one gulp, and sat into the bathtub.

This fully automatic bathtub purifies the water quality at all times, so there is no need to be like before—changing several buckets of water just to scrub oneself clean.

After soaking for half an hour, she stood up; her body was clean, and the water was basically purified as well.

How truly magical!

Xie Yang felt a bit covetous of this good item.

It is a pity that the living supplies exchanged through the mining system, except for consumables, cannot be taken away upon departure—items like the bathtub and toilet; the only things she can take are the surplus ores.

The Main System felt a bit aggrieved: 【Host, the System's Mall also has this fully automatic bathtub. It is not unique to the Sub-system. Host, you can spend points to exchange for it at any time.】

Xie Yang then asked how many points a bathtub costs.

【It's not expensive, just 20,000.】

Xie Yang: "..."

What the hell do you mean, not expensive!

To think that after she labored and toiled for an entire plane, the point reward she received was a mere few tens of thousands.

A single bathtub costs her 20,000? That's highway robbery!
