Chapter 1102: Gentle Neighbor's Drama Queen Sweetheart 30
When Zhongyu Yu woke up, the bedroom only had him.
He yawned, rolled around in bed holding the blanket, purely out of habit, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by soft things.
After rolling, he realized this wasn't his bedroom, then sat up in a daze.
Jin Chen?
As soon as he had that thought, he smelled porridge at his nostrils; Zhongyu Yu blinked lightly and hurried to the bathroom to wash up.
When he reached the kitchen door, Zhongyu Yu's face still had wet marks not wiped away.
Jin Chen heard the sound, turned back, and said helplessly, "Why aren't you wearing shoes?"
He had long noticed Zhongyu Yu's habit, but here it's not like the opposite side—there's no carpet laid.
Zhongyu Yu's lips curved; he lightly brushed his hair back, took a few steps forward, stepped into Jin Chen's slippers, tiptoed, and wrapped his arms around his neck.
"Put them on."
His morning voice was slightly hoarse, especially alluring.
Then he rubbed the water marks off his chest, dried off, lifted his head, and smiled at him.
Jin Chen set down his cutlery, embraced the person in his arms' waist, and kissed their cheek, saying, "You're so clingy."
Hey, what a sweet burden.
Jin Chen felt especially comfortable early in the morning; before breakfast was ready, he hugged his wife and kissed her to his heart's content.
After more than ten minutes, the slightly swollen-lipped Zhongyu Yu pitter-pattered back to the living room and flopped onto the sofa to wait for breakfast.
Just after sitting down, he couldn't help glancing toward the kitchen, hugging the fluffy cushion and rolling it about, delighted beyond measure.
He couldn't stay still; after lounging a while, he went into the dining room and leisurely brewed two cups of coffee.
The coffee aroma gradually filled the room; Zhongyu Yu held the cup, took a small sip, then ran to the kitchen to give Jin Chen a drink.
"How does it taste?" Zhongyu Yu's eyes sparkled, eagerly awaiting his evaluation.
"As expected of a Special Blend Master, making coffee is also superb."
Jin Chen gave it very high praise, wiping the milk foam from his lips with his fingertip, saying, "That coffee machine has finally found an owner who truly understands it."
Zhongyu Yu loved that evaluation, humming a tune as he returned to the dining room, thinking of moving the other Special Blend Machines over later to make a full set.
"Alright, alright, a great Special Blend Specialist must henceforth bear the trust of loyal fans, needing to produce tasty drinks every day."
Zhongyu Yu muttered to himself, then swayed back to the opposite side to change out of his pajamas.
By the time he came back, breakfast was already set out in the dining room.
Egg toast stacked on a white porcelain plate, surrounded by a few sliced strawberries and a handful of nut crumbs, while the corn porridge bubbled and steamed.
Zhongyu Yu also added a baked cake on his side; the cake base was very beautiful.
"How abundant!" Zhongyu Yu exclaimed, without hesitation grabbing the cake and taking a bite.
His mouth was filled with the sweet, soft, dense texture; eating the cake was practically the happiest thing upon waking in the morning.
Moreover, a trembling sweetness surged up from his heart endlessly.
I really like it.
Zhongyu Yu finished the cake full of happiness, secretly glanced at Jin Chen, propping his chin.
Then his forehead was lightly tapped.
"That's it, eat breakfast."
Jin Chen couldn't see Zhongyu Yu's thoughts; meeting those beautiful, pitiful eyes, he felt helpless yet amused, saying, "Alright, then prepare two tomorrow morning."
When facing his wife, he really has no sense of principle!
Zhongyu Yu chuckled, pushed the plate to the opposite side, then went around the table to sit beside Jin Chen.
Even while eating breakfast, they need to be close.
He drank the most corn porridge, which perfectly suited Zhongyu Yu's sweet tooth; as he sipped, he recalled yesterday's confusion, lifted his head from the bowl, and looked at Jin Chen.
"Were you drunk last night?"
Jin Chen admitted, "Last night that bunch drank mixed liquor; long ago we didn't even know the alcohol content."
"But when you're drunk, you seem different from others."
Zhongyu Yu finished the last mouthful of corn porridge, then clung to the toast, looking puzzled, "I thought everyone who gets drunk would… become terrifying."
It's really because his childhood psychological shadow was too huge; afterward he hardly ever saw anyone drunk, and the few times he did, they resembled his terrifying father in memory, so this idea became deeply ingrained.
Even if Jin Chen got drunk, he still remembered what happened last night, clearly recalling Zhongyu Yu's hidden fear; the oddness at the banquet thus found an explanation.
His heart went soft and sore; he pulled the person into his embrace and kissed again and again before relenting.
"I'm drunk, but not crazy—how could I dare to be fierce toward my wife?"
Their foreheads pressed together; Jin Chen's spoken tone was warm and moist, just enough to soothe the little heart that had been slightly frightened the night before.
Zhongyu Yu pursed his lips, buried himself in his embrace, and they held each other tightly.
He didn't even want to eat the toast; he just wanted to linger in that person's arms, which felt like the happiest place in the whole world.
Such a good, good person could delicately sense each of his unhappy points, then fill them with love and affection, making him forget the pain of past hurts.
Jin Chen gently stroked the long hair of the person in his arms, loving the feel and unable to let go, also feeling utterly tranquil.
"Want to move in together?" Jin Chen asked him, his low voice brushing past his ear.
"The opposite side is all decorated as a filming set, with more space."
As a lovestruck couple, they naturally don't want to be apart even for a moment; now Zhongyu Yu, who constantly wants to be close, is no exception—he agreed without much thought.
Then he smiled and said, "You once waived half a year's rent for me outright; now I'm living at your place—do I still need to pay double?"
Jin Chen chuckled, "Paying that much seems like you want to give me private pocket money."
Zhongyu Yu sat on him, legs swinging, his tone not lacking shyness, "What… I won't manage money."
After breakfast, Jin Chen ought to go to the club.
Before leaving, they embraced again, breaths entwining. Zhongyu Yu hesitated for two seconds over the possibility that if she appeared on camera today her swollen lips would be noticed, then brushed it aside; even though the kiss left her limp, she still had to respond slowly.
Before parting, Jin Chen kissed her brow lightly, like a dragonfly touching water, and gently rubbed her scalp.
Zhongyu Yu lay on the sofa, watched Jin Chen leave the door, then rolled around hugging the blanket, her face flushed hot, unable to stop smiling.
