Chapter 1126: Ancient Academy Records, Lots of Fun 13

~7 min read 1,310 words

Xie Yuancheng couldn't swallow the anger of being repeatedly bullied by Jin Chen; he lunged over, kicking and punching, and if he couldn't win, he resorted to dirty tricks.

Jin Chen, meanwhile, still looked oddly happy, the smile at the corner of his mouth never fading.

"You're still laughing! No laughing!"

Xie Yuancheng pouted, then grabbed Jin Chen's face and pulled it sideways, stretching his handsome face out of shape before he felt satisfied; the next second his waist was encircled and his whole body toppled into Jin Chen's arms.

"Let go." Xie Yuancheng scrunched his little face, fierce.

Jin Chen, his face being pulled, couldn't speak; he responded by tightening his embrace a bit more, his fingertips mischievously lightly stroking the acupressure points on his spine.

This made Xie Yuancheng break out in goosebumps all over, feeling like a piece of meat on a chopping block.

He hurriedly released his grip, his tone urgent as he twisted in the embrace, "Don't press acupressure points—that's un martial!"

Only then did Jin Chen release him, in a good mood patting Xie Yuancheng's head, "Today's meal was very enjoyable—thanks to the Little Crown Prince for cooking a special dish."

Xie Yuancheng was about to retort when he heard a scream from outside the small kitchen.

"Ahhh—"

The two were slightly startled, then quickly walked out.

This courtyard is very remote; usually Xie Yuancheng could guarantee no one would come.

Who would have thought they'd still run into this sort of thing today.

Just as they stepped out, they saw a tall and a short male disciple bullying a female disciple, their words utterly obscene.

The scream obviously came from the female disciple forced into the corner.

"What are you doing!"

Xie Yuancheng shouted angrily, flinging a flying knife from his sleeve.

The two flying knives brushed past the male disciples' eyes, startling them so they couldn't dodge in time and fell flat on their backs.

"Who dares! Actually dares to disturb Young Master's good business!"

The short one, furious and embarrassed, crawled up from the ground, only able to watch helplessly as the duck he had in hand ran off, unable to catch it.

He could only direct his resentment at the two who had suddenly appeared.

"Do you know who Young Master is!" The short one had extremely distinctive features: a round face with a pair of sinister slanted eyes, freckles densely scattered, utterly ugly.

The tall one stood behind him, obviously a lackey, equally fierce and evil-looking.

Xie Yuancheng, huffing with anger, "No matter who you are, you can't bully a young lady!"

"Pah! I, Young Master, am an inner disciple of the Divine Pavilion! Who would look down on a broken academy!"

The short one snorted coldly, grinning with a twisted mouth, "Scared yet? Then hurry up and kowtow and apologize to Young Master!"

Xie Yuancheng: "Divine Pavilion... disciple?"

He slightly raised his eyebrows, slowly turning his head to look at Jin Chen.

Jin Chen: "Damn."

Previously, when he was the Young Master of the Demonic Sect, he had to take the blame; now even as a person of the Divine Pavilion he still has to take the blame!

"He's not one of them; I've seen all these inner disciples before."

Who would have thought that this sentence would make the short one laugh uncontrollably, his slanted eyes crinkling into a line, "Ay yoyo, who are you! You claim to have seen all the inner disciples? You're lying without even drafting a lie!"

Jin Chen felt around in his bosom and produced the Young Master's token.

The short one gave a dismissive snort, "What nonsense! That broken jade plaque can't possibly let you impersonate a Divine Pavilion person!"

Jin Chen: "..."

He sighed, then put the token back.

"Or maybe we should just give them a beating."

"Don't rush."

Xie Yuancheng really didn't want to fight them; if the instructor found out, it wouldn't matter who started it.

"Hmph, you're not in a hurry, but I, Young Master, am! Beat them!" The short one gave the order; the tall one behind him immediately charged forward.

"Just beat that one pretending to be a Divine Pavilion disciple! Young Master sees he's also delicate-skinned, prone to attracting attention." The short one stroked his chin, his eyes flashing with lecherous light.

Jin Chen frowned, stepped to stand behind Xie Yuancheng, his lazy voice somehow revealing a hint of grievance.

"They're insulting me."

Xie Yuancheng's anger rose inexplicably, he could barely endure it, and he produced the Crown Prince's token.

"You're utterly insolent!"

The tall one saw the golden dragon on the token, his legs went weak, he fell to his knees with a thud, "Your Highness, the Crown Prince!"

"Crown..."

The short one panicked, only then remembering that nowadays imperial offspring all train within the academy.

He hurriedly followed suit and knelt, his arms limp, his heart filled with panic.

How coincidental! And they even ran into the Crown Prince!

This was Xie Yuancheng's first time using the Crown Prince's token within the academy; he was so angry his chest felt tight, his noble visage strained, his aura inadvertently making people feel terrified.

"You lot, openly harassing fellow students in the academy and impersonating Divine Pavilion disciples, are truly hateful!"

Listening to Xie Yuancheng's reprimand, Jin Chen's eyes held a smile, feeling rather favored as if backed by someone.

But this person's mouth... really is annoying.

He glanced at the short one trembling on his knees, his peach-blossom eyes slightly narrowed.

The short one, already trembling from the reprimand, suddenly felt a hint of killing intent, scared nearly to collapse, cold sweat pouring.

"Your Highness, the Crown Prince... I know my wrong, I know my wrong! I won't do it again! Please spare me!"

Xie Yuancheng sneered, "You're not a Divine Pavilion disciple, yet you're so afraid of my punishment?"

"I... I."

The short guy wasn't any Divine Pavilion disciple—he just had a cousin who did menial work there. The academy, far from Jianghu in the imperial city, assumed no one would find out.

He stammered, panicking inside.

"Don't make excuses; from now on, I don't want to see you here either."

Xie Yuancheng pressed his lips, displeased: "Get out of the academy yourself, and you too."

"Yes yes yes..."

Not being punished is already lenient; being expelled from the academy is already merciful—how could the short guy dare say more?

As he stood up, he furtively glanced at Jin Chen, and suddenly realized.

No wonder the Crown Prince Your Highness suddenly flew into such a rage; it's certainly not because of a powerless female disciple—it must be because of this male favorite.

Jin Chen saw the contempt in his eyes, lowered his lids to hide the sarcasm, and flicked his fingertip.

"Ah—!"

The short guy had just stepped out of the courtyard when his head suddenly ached, as if being gnawed, pain so intense he collapsed straight to the ground.

"What's wrong with you?" the tall guy thought, finding it strange.

"I... I ahhh!"

The short guy was in so much pain he couldn't speak, only clutching his head and rolling on the ground; as soon as he opened his mouth he suddenly spat out blood, and within a few breaths he died, eyes staring, head askew.

The tall guy stared, stunned, his trembling hand reaching to check his breath.

"Take the corpse and get out."

A voice from inside again frightened him into crawling away, thinking it was the Crown Prince's warning; he hoisted the corpse and ran outward, daring not to pause.

Jin Chen withdrew his attention from outside, raised his eyes and curled his lips, making a casual bow, "Thanks, Crown Prince Your Highness, for speaking up for a commoner like me."

Xie Yuancheng frowned oddly, gave him a punch on the shoulder without using any force.

"Weird."
