Chapter 1170: Little Angel and Psycho 12
Xi Er didn't want to contact strangers, just glanced back and withdrew his gaze, continuing to silently observe the peacock.
However, the peacock walked towards the man in the suit, quite familiar, and spread its tail again.
"This is my peacock; I happened to put it here for display."
Yu ao smiled at him, "Thank you for liking it."
Xi Er felt a little embarrassed, gave a slight nod, was about to leave when he heard him say, "My shop is right next door, not far—it's an exotic pet store, and there's also a blue peacock. Want to take a look?"
Xi Er's eyes lit up slightly; he lowered his head to check his watch—there was still time before Jin Chen would send someone to pick him up—so he nodded.
"Thank you."
To avoid showing his poor language skills, Xi Er spoke in two‑character bursts, which actually made him seem much more aloof.
Three bodyguards followed at a distance—not too close, not too far—ready to appear instantly if Xi Er encountered danger.
For now, this person seems to be just an ordinary peddler.
Actually, this wasn't the first time Yu ao had seen Xi Er.
Earlier that day outside the hotel, he personally saw Xi Er, who had blue wings, appear out of thin air in the garden—like an angel descending, enchanting the heart.
Unfortunately, just as he stepped out of the elevator, he saw the angel had already been taken away.
Now that he's met him today, he won't let him go no matter what.
The smile on Yu ao's face deepened as he already thought about which cage at home to lock this human‑disguised angel into.
By the way, he'd deal with a few of those lovers in the basement to free up space and time.
Yu ao thought it through thoroughly, never doubting he wouldn't succeed.
Anything that enters his shop as prey won't even think about leaving unharmed.
Bringing Xi Er into the shop, Yu ao set down the white peacock he was holding; sure enough, there was a blue peacock in the corner, and all the creatures in the shop looked beautiful.
Xi Er's eyes sparkled; he crouched to observe the blue peacock, then shortly after was drawn to the blue, semi‑transparent fish in the clear tank.
At the hospital at that moment.
Jin Chen arrived at the top floor; the Dean and the team dedicated to serving him were waiting outside the elevator.
His attending physician was especially attentive, caring more about Jin Chen's mental state than Jin Chen himself.
Before the routine checkup could begin, Jin Chen entered the suite and said he wanted to change doctors.
The attending physician was utterly baffled, becoming even more agitated under the doubtful gazes of the Dean and the team.
"Mr. Jin, I've always been the one in charge of you; I know your condition best."
Before he finished speaking, Jin Chen's assistant Jie xi flung a document into his lap.
"You don't need a corrupt attending physician; if you're a member of the Jin Family Head, how could you possibly devote yourself to serving Mr. Jin?"
Having said that, Jie xi turned his gaze to the Dean, eyes pressing, "Get a new attending physician."
The doctor looked at the words on the document, growing more alarmed, his legs going weak as he leaned against the wall.
"Impossible..."
We've kept this hidden for years; the family head clearly said something about the treatment, yet Jin Chen never asked further—how did it just get uncovered now?
Although this hospital is under the Jin Family's name, everyone knows who actually controls it; the Dean was terrified, never expecting this to happen.
The Dean was an old hand; he quickly thought of another angle—first telling the attending physician to scram, then probing.
"Do you already have your own choice, sir? Just say the word, and I'll arrange someone to be your attending physician."
"Laolunsi."
Hearing that name from Jin Chen, what else could the Dean not understand?
No wonder Doctor Laolunsi transferred to their hospital—he just finished admission this morning, and by morning Jin Chen had already appointed him; it's obvious he's just here to go through the motions.
"I'll call him over right away; please wait a moment."
The assistant opened the signal fluctuation device, confirmed the suite was safe, then nodded to Jin Chen.
Jin Chen flipped through the attending physician's past reports on the original host's treatment, becoming ever more certain that the death in the original plot was due to the original host overlooking this doctor.
The more treatment, the worse it got; they needed to switch to their own people for treatment ASAP.
A few minutes later, a Western man in a white coat appeared, blond hair wild and unrestrained, the corner of his mouth perpetually curled in a rakish smile.
"Long time no see."
Jin Chen gave him a sideways glance, "It's been a year, and you're still as flamboyant as ever."
Laolunsi is the psychiatrist Jin Chen met while vacationing in the Mother Nation Capital; coincidentally, Laolunsi's father used to be the private physician of Jin Chen's mother, the duchess.
After Laolunsi's father, eyes brimming with hot tears, saw Jin Chen, Laolunsi unfortunately became Jin Chen's personal physician.
Laolunsi covered his ears, "I don't want to hear you talk—shut up."
He walked straight over, opened the brainwave detector, patted the bed to signal Jin Chen to lie down.
"How have you been feeling lately? How frequent are the episodes?"
The cold contact pads were placed on his head and forehead; Jin Chen frowned slightly, feeling uncomfortable, his voice turning cold.
"The frequency isn't high, but other symptoms have worsened."
Amazingly, even after swapping souls the symptoms weren't cured; although being a madman feels great, Jin Chen doesn't really want to become an uncontrollably emotional lunatic.
Several times he almost scared his wife.
Laolunsi looked at the readout, asked a few more questions, and while listening sensed something was off.
"Have you had any recent developments?"
He sounded suspicious, "Why does everything you say sound gentler than usual?"
Jin Chen spoke solemnly.
"How come, you don't have a wife?"
He even lifted his head to look at Laolunsi, his gloomy gaze revealing sincerity, "I do."
Laolunsi: "……"
You have… you have it! Why do you still want to show off, do you have no shame!
Jin Chen sneered.
Laolunsi slowly raised the scalpel, saying, "Since you won't restrain yourself, I also have two blades."
Alright, get up, it's not a big problem, just the same old issue.
Laolunsi doesn't bother with pleasantries, speaking bluntly: "But you should still rein in your temper a bit; anger is hard to control once it flares, and if you get angry too often you could drive yourself away."
Jin Chen rubbed his brow, instructing: "From now on, stay at the residence for treatment; don't say these things in front of Xi Er."
Xi Er… ah, you're his wife, right? Okay.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, not good, Host!
0731 sent a frontline battle report.
Xiao Tian Shi ran into that pervert from the original plot again at the mall!
Jin Chen's rubbing motion paused slightly, he wiped off the conductive fluid and got up out of bed.
Jie xi, return to the mall.
"Yes, sir." Jie xi immediately pushed over the wheelchair.
Hey, wait for me a moment!
Laolunsi hurriedly caught up with the two of them, not knowing why Jin Chen was in such a rush.
