Chapter 1715: Beiping Old Dream: Handsome Actor Overpowers the Big Shot 30

~7 min read 1,256 words

Each game had three rounds, and Pei Yinnian lost every round.

The dealer cheated blatantly, and Chu San's deputy showed no intention of hiding it, plainly aiming to have Pei Yinnian sign the agreement before it would be over.

But the deputy didn't immediately force him to sign; instead, it seemed he was waiting for something.

But after the three rounds, Pei Yinnian showed no signs of poisoning, so relaxed he had drunk half a glass of red wine.

The deputy and Sun Fu stared at each other for a while, even patting their pockets to confirm the deadly powder given by the foreign devil had all been scattered.

But now there was no time for that, as the final auction item was about to come up; without the disturbance caused by Pei Yinnian's death, the VIPs on the fourth floor would still be hard to please regarding the auction items.

The deputy clenched his teeth, privately reached a conclusion, gestured for the soldiers to place the agreement before Pei Yinnian, and with a strong, oppressive voice said, "Mr. Pei, losers pay up."

Pei Yinnian took the agreement and glanced at it; it concerned the Beiping Chamber of Commerce. If he, as chairman, agreed to sign, the chamber would completely fall under military administration, and Chu San would likely get a share, but the decision remained in the hands of the British garrison.

He lifted his eyelids to glance at the deputy, picked up a pen, wrote a line beneath the agreement, stood, walked over, and handed it to him.

The deputy was surprised by his cooperation, also thinking the so-called Mr. Pei was nothing special, and, in a praising tone, took the agreement, saying, "You're quite…"

Before the words of praise could leave his mouth, the deputy's face turned ashen instantly.

What signature? At the end of the agreement was only a glaring line of text.

Fawning and servile, selling out the country for glory.

"You motherfucker!"

Pei Yinnian raised his gun, pressing it to the deputy's forehead, his aura suddenly turning icy, he curled his lip and spoke softly: "Deputy, calm down."

The deputy stiffened, hastily pressing down on the hand of the soldier holding the gun: "Nobody move!"

"How the hell do you still have a gun!" the deputy exclaimed, shock deepening in his eyes, "Didn't we just search you?!"

Pei Yinnian spoke with a smile, quite politely: "Thanks to Vice President Sun."

Sun Fu: "?"

"You're full of shit!"

Sun Fu suddenly felt something was off, rose to run, but the tense atmosphere by the gambling table wouldn't let him flee alone; the soldiers aimed their guns at him, already treating him as Pei Yinnian's accomplice.

"Fine, you're playing double‑agent with me!" the deputy gritted his teeth, tried to struggle but was shoved back by the gun's force, forced to sit obediently, his eyes still glaring hatefully at Sun Fu.

"No wonder Pei Yinnian didn't get poisoned!"

"Thank you, Vice President Sun." Pei Yinnian said solemnly, "Thanks to the information you provided."

Sun Fu: "……"

Sun Fu was at a loss for words, and had no idea what nonsense Pei Yinnian was spouting.

Pei Yinnian glanced at the five soldiers with a smile, calmly saying, "You dare use the foreign devil's poison? Don't you know this powder is indiscriminate?"

The soldiers' and deputy's faces changed; Sun Fu panicked, hastily reaching to claw at his throat, his breathing disrupted.

Reason told them this man before them was near‑demoniacally clever, his words utterly untrustworthy.

Yet they couldn't help but feel a fear of death.

"Make them all leave, you take me to see Chu San." Pei Yinnian grabbed the deputy's collar, forcing him to stand, his eyes full of cold intent.

"Impossible! Master San doesn't even have time…"

A gunshot rang out; the deputy didn't even have time to utter another word before the bullet pierced his brow and exited.

"That's really a shame."

Pei Yinnian said softly, "In the end they're all going to die—whether by poison or bullet makes no difference."

"Don't you dare speak! Shut up and drop your gun!" the soldiers shouted hoarsely upon seeing the deputy dead.

"Don't you want an antidote?" Pei Yinnian narrowed his eyes, then aimed at the dealer standing in the middle of the gambling table and fired another shot.

"Damn it, don't move! Hear me? Otherwise I'll shoot!"

Watching Pei Yinnian kill two people in a row, the lead soldier almost howled hysterically, but his mind kept fixating on the poisoning, making it impossible to stay rational.

Five people angrily closed in, driving Pei Yinnian back against the wall, while Sun Fu still on the ground strained to claw at his throat, the vomiting sounds making the soldiers lose even more courage.

Pei Yinnian held a faint smile, his pupils shifting a few inches away from them.

"All right, my real backup has arrived; the deception is over."

As those words landed, Jin Chen fired several bullets in succession.

Sun Fu's expression froze; he blankly watched the five soldiers collapse one after another, a hint of fear in his eyes as he slowly turned and met Jin Chen's cold, gorgeous smile.

"No… don't kill me!" his voice trembled uncontrollably.

"Request denied."

Jin Chen fired the last shot, closed the door, and walked toward Pei Yinnian.

Pei Yinnian lifted his gaze to the doorway, then suddenly narrowed his eyes as he was embraced at the waist and pushed back against the wall before withdrawing his look, his head resting on Jin Chen's shoulder, inhaling his sandalwood scent, only then daring to exhale.

"Brother, you're amazing." Jin Chen soothed Pei Yinnian's lower back with his hand, then kissed him amid the room's bloody smell.

Pei Yinnian's long lashes flickered, he glanced behind him once more, and did not refuse.

Xu Nanchun stood at the doorway, his pale face still showing a hint of loss, instinctively gripping his coat and silently facing all danger.

"President! President, are you still in there?!"

Shouts of urgency came from outside; Xu Nanchun snapped to attention, stood by the door unsure whether to open it, until Jin Chen reminded him to pull the handle.

The middle‑aged man who had handed Pei Yinnian his gun hurriedly glanced at the interior, relaxed yet quickly shut the door, gulping hard: "President, they say the Young Master feigned illness to send the chamber's people out for news; Master Chu Five will likely arrive soon—I'll first escort you out of here!"

"No, there's no time."

Pei Yinnian lifted his wrist to check his watch, saying solemnly, "First go find the Gold Thread Clothing."

"But if the gunfire gets out, Chu San and the foreign devil will notice, you…"

"I have a way." Jin Chen pulled a walkie‑talkie from the deputy's coat pocket, compared it to Red Beard's, and adjusted the frequency.

The middle‑aged man was about to ask what he could do, but Pei Yinnian stopped him, saying, "Trust him."

After a few crackles, the other end of the walkie‑talkie carried Chu San's voice: "What's going on over there? Where did the gunfire downstairs come from? Has Xiao Bo Feng died yet?!"

Chu San was on the fourth floor.

Jin Chen narrowed his eyes, having never heard the adjutant's voice, he casually said: "Too bad, your people are all dead, see you on the second floor."

How the hell is it you again… hey!

Chu San, furious, smashed the intercom, just about to take his team to the second floor, but then felt something was wrong.
