Chapter 2001: In the Zerg Race, Being Pampered by My Wife – Day 34
Rupert Star Belt, the rest room of the main control spaceship.
The military doctor followed into the rest room, waited a few minutes, then came out dazed, shaking their head at the worried officials.
Kaiwen was shocked, almost crushing the table, "What are you shaking your head for? Is Ze Nuo Er seriously injured?"
Actually one could guess, the high-frequency radiation brought by the Corpse Bone Rift Abyss Beast's self-destruction is almost lethal, let alone Ze Nuo Er facing the danger head‑on with no escape.
Outside the rest room, all female soldiers tensed their faces, fearing to hear even a hint of bad news.
"No… not that, Major General Ze Nuo Er is fine." The military doctor shook their head again, still dazed, not knowing why they had come, "He has no injuries at all, Your Excellency Jin Chen is keeping him company inside, and I couldn't help."
Kaiwen paused, muttering, "I saw Your Excellency Jin Chen holding Ze Nuo Er when he came back, covered in blood."
An Bo thought of that miraculous golden restorative fluid and immediately exclaimed, "I get it… forget it, you don't need to handle this, go check on the wounded brothers and the Third Prince—he must not come to harm."
The military doctor was asked to leave again.
Facing Kaiwen's doubts, An Bo casually explained a couple of sentences, and they all agreed to conceal the matter.
Afterwards they all sighed, feeling that Your Excellency Jin Chen's secrets were perhaps a bit too many.
Not long after, Jin Chen came out of the rest room, gently closed the door, and met the gazes of Kaiwen and An Bo.
"Ze Nuo Er is sleeping."
This really means he's fine.
Kaiwen still wanted to ask a few more questions, but saw Jin Chen heading straight to the contact room, saying, "Beast eggs can suppress virus growth; contact the Royal Laboratory of the Main Star for a meeting."
"... Alright." Kaiwen immediately stood up, feeling that Your Excellency Jin Chen was inexplicably anxious.
As if he were rushing to do something.
"Your Excellency, why don't you rest a bit? Let us handle this." An Bo advised.
Jin Chen's steps paused for a moment, then continued as if nothing: "No need, you come with me."
An Bo and Kaiwen exchanged a glance, followed him, and said nothing more.
They guessed that before Ze Nuo Er woke up, Your Excellency Jin Chen would remain in this state, thinking, "Originally, the love of a male insect for his female lord could really be this deep."
In the past, those female soldiers wounded on the battlefield, after returning to the Main Star, faced either dismissal or utter contempt, living worse than female slaves—something they had seen often, but this was truly a first.
——
Ze Nuo Er woke up amidst faint clamor.
The moment his thoughts returned, Ze Nuo Er instinctively went to find Jin Chen, only then hearing the voices outside.
His male lord was right outside.
Not a dream.
Ze Nuo Er dazedly glanced at his hand; the torn wounds had all healed, leaving him only fatigued, with no other pain.
Yet he still felt uneasy, because he had gone back on his word, and feared Jin Chen would be too angry.
This unease was like ink dropped on paper, the spots gradually spreading, growing deeper, beyond his control, breeding panic.
Ze Nuo Er propped himself up, slowly put on his clothes, then opened the door.
The discussion outside halted the instant the door opened.
The experimenter opposite the screen was purely startled, thinking they had disturbed Major General Ze Nuo Er's rest.
Outside, there was only surprise and then a silence of complete relief.
Kaiwen and An Bo sensibly stayed silent, then exchanged a glance toward Jin Chen.
Jin Chen rose, walked over, lifted Ze Nuo Er's face to examine it, and asked, "How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine." Ze Nuo Er shook his head, glanced at his subordinate and friend, pulled Jin Chen back a few steps until the rest room door closed.
Ze Nuo Er practically lunged into Jin Chen's arms at once.
"Male lord… sorry."
He nearly greedily inhaled the pheromone's scent, as if trying to prove he was still alive, that this was not a dream.
Jin Chen let out a soft hum, held Ze Nuo Er and ruffled his hair, beginning to complain, "Scared me to death, what's with all the sorry."
"Seeing the valley about to collapse yet you still went digging in there—why didn't you think of me then?"
"Major General Ze Nuo Er, do you forget that I'm still at home when you go into battle?"
Jin Chen kept muttering in Ze Nuo Er's ear.
Ze Nuo Er patiently listened to each sentence, waited for the sound by his ear to stop, then went to look at Jin Chen's expression.
Indeed he felt very wronged.
Ze Nuo Er's heart felt sore and weak, unable to grasp the waist encircling Jin Chen, he tilted his head up to kiss his lips, tears moistening them.
"Sorry… it's my fault, I really regret it."
"I regret it too." Jin Chen grew a bit angry, gripping Ze Nuo Er's waist tighter, "If I'd known you'd be so reckless, I wouldn't have listened to you staying behind no matter what."
Inside the forest a region shift would occur; Jin Chen truly hadn't expected that what was once foolproof would turn into a hair's breadth mistake, Ze Nuo Er even ending up more injured than in the original plot.
Even though he himself had cried, Jin Chen's reddened eye corners still made Ze Nuo Er's heart tremble, the lingering burning pain flowing along his blood vessels into his heart chamber.
Ze Nuo Er pursed his lips, held his breath, and gently rubbed against Jin Chen's neck, lips and pulse separated only by a thin layer of flesh, a tender soothing.
"There won't be a next time, okay? Please don't be angry." Ze Nuo Er spoke softly, his wet golden eyes gazing at Jin Chen in the lamplight, then raised a hand to trace his brow contour, "It's good, I can still see you."

【Detected Villain Blackening Value –5, total 40!】
"Let me sleep with you for a while." Jin Chen held him, rubbing a bit, feeling somewhat tired.
As for whether he had cooled down, Ze Nuo Er wasn't unaware of how hard it is to soothe a male lord; once in bed he lay quietly in his embrace, lightly rubbing Jin Chen's back.
He lowered his gaze, long lashes shielding the welling heartache and regret in his eyes, drawing closer to Jin Chen, their breaths intertwining ambiguously.
Ze Nuo Er accompanied Jin Chen in sleep; when he woke again, Jin Chen still wasn't awake, but outside reports came several times.
Ze Nuo Er carefully got up, after changing clothes he looked back at the sleeping male lord on the bed, then left the rest room.
「Ze Nuoer! 」
An Bo finally managed to rush over and hug Ze Nuoer, sighing: 「You're too impulsive, can't stop it, good thing Lord Jin Chen arrived in time. 」
Thinking back to the situation then, Ze Nuoer exhaled briefly, and Ze Nuoer's heart ached again.
Ze Nuoer didn't expect to see Lord Jin Chen outside.
Ze Nuoer has never felt so much heartache and regret in their life as today.
「I'm fine. 」 Ze Nuoer adjusted their state, 「What's the situation now? Have the travelers and wounded been evacuated? 」
「Eh...... 」
An Bo hurried over to report work.
