Chapter 2322: S-Rank Guide's Forced Love 07

~7 min read 1,250 words

At the same time, his mental power output slowed, guiding the chaotic, violent force within Youzan's body, like combing a raging river, letting it rush and discharge within its set channel.

The process remained painful, but the places in Youzan's mental landscape where violence had blocked the depths were forcibly cleared.

Agony of destruction and rebirth intertwined.

After an unknown time, the magma storm in the mental landscape gradually subsided, and the exhausted black sable cat curled up on the white wolf's back.

Jin Chen cut off the mental power input, and the light on his helmet faded.

He deftly unfastened the helmet's clasp and lifted it off Youzan's head.

"It's over." Jin Chen said softly.

Youzan felt as if all his bones had been pulled out; his body went limp and he collapsed forward.

Jin Chen steadied him in his embrace; Youzan was soaked in cold sweat, as if just fished from water, his lips even bitten through, bleeding.

Youzan's gaze was unfocused, he gasped heavily, as if he'd just survived a life‑or‑death ordeal, lacking even the strength to glare at Jin Chen.

Holding him, Jin Chen clearly felt the limpness and uncontrollable trembling in Youzan's body, so he adjusted his pose to let Youzan lean more comfortably.

Then he picked up the prepared water cup from beside him and brought it to Youzan's cracked lips.

Youzan instinctively resisted, but his thirst drove him to open his mouth, gulping down the warm water from Jin Chen's hand.

After giving him water, Jin Chen took the new identity badge from his pocket.

His gaze fell on Youzan's pale yet strikingly handsome face; after a moment, he gently placed the badge in Youzan's sweat‑damp palm, his fingertip brushing the other's cool skin.

"I said I'd bring you a gift." Jin Chen said, "But you insist on making a fuss."

Youzan's unfocused gaze settled on the cold metal badge in his palm.

He jerked his head up, his pale face full of shock and disbelief, his wet black hair sticking to his forehead.

"Why?" His voice hoarse, a blunt confusion he'd never felt before.

"What exactly do you want me to do?"

Jin Chen lowered his eyes, wiping the water and blood from Youzan's lip, "Just obey me; the rest we'll discuss when you're better."

——

Youzan lay on his back on the newly changed, overly soft bed.

The red marks chafed into his wrists by the chains were strikingly visible; he unconsciously pressed his fingertips against that circle, the pain sharp and clear, yet it made him feel truly alive.

Treatment was painful; each mental guidance forcibly stripped away and froze his out‑of‑control power.

The ordeal was so agonizing he wanted to tear everything apart, including the Guide who had forced all this upon him.

But the effect was undeniable: though still weak, at least his chaotic thoughts were no longer a violent vortex but fragments he could barely grasp.

Youzan clearly knew he would not die for the time being.

This life of his had been hauled out of a rotting mire by that parachuted Guide, whose thirst for control was outrageous.

Jin Chen……

That name rolled silently on Youzan's tongue.

Just who is he?

He had never seen a Guide like this—overwhelmingly powerful, and his conduct utterly unrestrained.

Parachuting in to establish authority, killing people in public, even… forcibly taking over him, the mad dog everyone deemed trash.

Just then, the door slid open soundlessly, and Jin Chen walked in.

He went straight to the bedside, ignoring Youzan's sudden wary gaze, and bent to undo the chains binding his wrists.

Youzan moved his newly freed wrists, the numbness from restraint mixing with the sting of friction.

He watched Jin Chen turn and take a nutrition meal from the insulated cabinet beside him.

Jin Chen set the tray on the bedside table, gesturing for him to eat.

Youzan stared at the plate, his throat twitching, but he snorted, laced with lingering spite.

"How come? Weren't you supposed not to give me food?"

Hearing that, Jin Chen's brows rose slightly, the corner of his mouth curling in an inexplicably amused arc.

"Still think not enough people are tormenting you?"

Youzan: "……"

Left speechless by the retort.

He had indeed been tormented enough.

Jin Chen's methods may be harsh, but at least he provides genuine treatment and food.

He silently picked up the spoon and began eating mechanically.

Jin Chen didn't leave; he walked to the side armchair, sat down, and quietly watched Youzan eat.

"This afternoon I'll have the Medical Department come over for a full physical check‑up." Jin Chen broke the silence.

Youzan's motion jerked to a halt, his spoon clinking sharply against the bowl's rim.

He snapped his eyes up; resistance flared instantly, and the black sable cat behind him flicked its tail in agitation.

Jin Chen keenly caught Youzan's instant bristling reaction and added, "It's a doctor from the Senior Medical Department; you won't see anyone you don't want to."

Youzan relaxed a little then, but his wariness did not fully fade.

He lowered his head and continued eating in silence, his pace slowing.

Jin Chen watched his restrained yet stubborn demeanor, then rose from the armchair, took a few steps to the bedside, leaned slightly, and closed the distance between them.

The icy Guide aura about him instantly enveloped them, its presence too strong; his gaze fell on Youzan's lowered side profile.

"But I'm more curious," Jin Chen lowered his voice, "about you and that Ye Jun……"

"Go die."

Youzan jerked his head up, disgust plain on his face, "Do you have to nauseate me while I'm eating?!"

Unexpectedly, Jin Chen wasn't angered; instead, he seemed pleased with the answer, pinching You Zan's sensitive ear tip.

"Very good," Jin Chen said, "otherwise I'd get jealous."

You Zan: "……"

An indescribable heat surged up his ears, not from embarrassment but purely from being stimulated by those absurd words.

He stared at Jin Chen like he was looking at a madman, making his scalp tingle more than any threat, feeling utterly stifled by this meal.

This pent-up frustration with nowhere to vent made him irritable, and he lifted his leg to kick Jin Chen.

This kick had no form; it was purely an emotional outburst.

Jin Chen caught his kicking ankle and, taking advantage of the motion, scooped up the black serval that had appeared due to his emotional fluctuation into his arms.

The black serval stiffened momentarily; under Jin Chen's soothing cat-petting, the feline's instinctive threat growl gradually turned into… a soft, comfortable purr, and it even unconsciously rubbed its head against Jin Chen's wrist.

You Zan:!!!

He abruptly turned his head, glaring fiercely at the wall, refusing to look at the treacherous scene, only feeling a mysterious evil fire surging through his five viscera and six bowels.

So embarrassing, too embarrassing!

After barely managing to force the last few bites of food into his mouth, You Zan set down his spoon, feeling as if he'd just fought a hard battle.

He stared at Jin Chen, and the question he'd held back for so long still burst out.

"Are you really a guide?"

Jin Chen's cat-petting motions finally stopped.

He lifted his head, looked at You Zan, and let out a light hum of laughter.

"Was it a ghost that pulled you back from the brink of fury when you entered the mental landscape earlier?"

You Zan: "……"

Damn it.
