A pitch-black cage appeared.

Jin Chen stood behind Samuel, slipped his hand into his outer robe, wrapped around Samuel's waist, possessively rubbing, chin resting on his head, voice low.

"Look, you want to see."

Inside the cage, Zephyros struggled to sit up.

His golden robes were torn to shreds, his face bruised and bloody, hair disheveled, no longer bearing the majesty of the Light God, only embarrassment and stubborn perseverance.

He saw Samuel wrapped in Jin Chen's black robe, and instantly gained a luster.

Samuel looked astonished at Zephyros inside the cage.

Samuel's body trembled, startled awake from the Dazed.

He looked at Zephyros for a while longer, shook his head, without hesitation turned and buried himself in Jin Chen's embrace, cheek affectionately rubbing against his warm neck.

"No, I just wanted to prove… that I haven't mistaken my faith." He lifted his wet eyes, gazing at Jin Chen's blood-red pupils.

"Father God, I do not believe in him."

"I don't like him at all."

Such an obedient appearance, like the most docile cat expressing loyalty to its master.

Inside the cage, Zephyros stared wide-eyed in disbelief, frantically pounding the barrier, voicelessly howling.

Yet Samuel didn't even give him a glance.

Jin Chen stared deeply at Samuel, as if trying to pierce his soul, to see every word he spoke clearly, whether it came from the heart.

He lingered no longer, embracing Samuel as he left, leaving only Zephyros voicelessly roaring in the desperate cage.

Returning to the warm bedroom, Jin Chen placed Samuel beside the bed.

He still wasn't entirely sure, his blood-red eyes locked on Samuel, "What you just said… is it true? No other thoughts?"

Samuel nodded firmly.

He gently removed the large black outer robe he wore.

His lustrous white jade-like body was fully exposed before Jin Chen, barefoot, he actively slipped into Jin Chen's chilly embrace.

Samuel took Jin Chen's hand, guiding it to caress the clear markings, his eyes welling with watery light, his voice soft and aggrieved.

The moon curtain hung low, cold silver light shining through the window lattice.

With his other hand he lifted the lantern at the table's corner, the door hinge turned, and it closed again behind him.

The corridor was deep and secluded.

Samuel's steps were soundless, the lantern's halo dispelling a small patch of darkness ahead, he quietly walked toward the depths of the temple.

A huge cage loomed in the shadows, its outline revealed.

Zephyros leaned against the cold railing, and when the lantern's light finally illuminated the newcomer's face, he startled to his feet.

Samuel stopped before the energy barrier that separated inside and outside, reached out, his fair fingertips lightly touching the barrier's surface, stirring a tiny ripple.

Then he took out Jin Chen's ring, pressed it against the barrier, and the solid energy instantly faded.

He stepped inside, the lantern's light illuminating the lingering shock on Zephyros's face.

"Light God."

Samuel's voice was soft, merely pushing the crystal ball in his hand forward a bit.

Inside the crystal ball was recorded Jin Chen drinking that cup of wine without any guard, then collapsing helplessly.

Zephyros's eyes locked onto the crystal ball, a look of mixed triumph and contempt appearing.

As expected… he had known.

When this devout believer learned that the object of his faith was actually false,

and when he knew Jin Chen was not the Light God, how could that fervent faith not collapse?

"What do you want me to do?" Samuel asked.

Zephyros hesitated not at all, "Kill Jin Chen that false god!"

"With your hands, completely end him."

Samuel furrowed his brows slightly, quite troubled, "But I can't kill him. He… seems also unable to kill you, right?"

His gaze swept over the chains on Zefeiluosi's body.

"Not bad." Zefeiluosi admitted, "We are bound by the ancient laws, unable to slaughter each other. But you can! You're different; as long as you break these damned chains!"

He leaned forward eagerly, the chains clattered, "Break it, my remaining strength is enough to suppress his dark origin; then, that will be your chance to strike!"
