Chapter 2508: My Wife Is a Pirate 38
Good fellows, how come there's still internal strife?
Jin Chen's brow twitched slightly; he casually picked up a small stone from the ground and flicked it with his fingertip.
【Whoosh—Bang!】 Ling Gun Gun made the sound with his mouth.
The stone struck Hai Sanshiyi's wrist, which was holding the knife, with precision.
He cried out in pain, the steel knife clanged to the ground, and he was staggered back several steps by the force.
Bu Zhangji had already leapt off the ship, shielding the terrified old man in front of him.
What else could Hai Shisan and the others not understand?
He immediately raised his hand and shouted sternly, "Draw your weapons! On guard!"
Bu Zhangji stared at Hai Sanshiyi, whose face was twisted in pain, his voice icy.
"Sanshiyi! You've gone crazy!"
Hai Sanshiyi clutched his wrist, his eyes darting, yet he forced a tough tone: "This, this is our boss's order!"
Bu Zhangji was furious: "You're full of shit! When did I ever let you…"
"Oh dear, Boss Bu, I'm afraid the 'boss' they're referring to now is me."
A rough, somewhat triumphant voice came from the boat closest to and largest by the shore.
Immediately, a tall, scar-faced pirate led dozens of weapon-wielding pirates off the ship, quickly forming a semi-surround that trapped Bu Zhangji and his group on the shore, blades flashing with cold light.
Obviously, if Jin Chen hadn't been alert in advance, Bu Zhangji and his crew would have walked into an ambush the moment they disembarked.
Bu Zhangji narrowed his eyes coldly, his gaze filled with suppressed anger: "Old Eight, I left you here to protect the fishermen! Is this how you protect them?"
"Hah! Bu Zhangji, cut the pretentious talk with me here!"
Hai Ba snorted, his tone full of contempt and mockery: "It's not because you're stupid! You brothers risked your lives to haul back all that gold and silver, yet you don't think of giving the brothers a bigger share to live well—instead you want to hand it all over for free to these half-dead crippled worms who have one foot in the coffin! What gives you the right?!"
He pointed his sword at Bu Zhangji, openly provoking: "What are the brothers following you for? Just to sip northwest wind? Well then, I'll take your place today! Hiss… you'd better scram, Boss Bu!"
Bu Zhangji's chest heaved with rage at his ungrateful, black‑white‑reversing tirade; he turned and grabbed Jin Chen's sleeve to complain, his voice both fierce and aggrieved.
"My lord, he provoked me and even called me stupid!"
Hai Ba and those mutinous pirates then turned their gaze to the calmly standing Jin Chen beside Bu Zhangji.
Hai Ba sized him up from head to toe; seeing that although he was tall, he wore ordinary clothes and carried no weapon, he couldn't help but sneer.
"Where did this pretty‑boy face come from? I say, Boss Bu, your taste is terrible—you've found a lover who's far too weak! Looks like trash only attracts trash…"
He hadn't finished speaking when Hai Shisan and the others behind Bu Zhangji all sucked in a breath of cold air and instinctively stepped back half a step.
They looked at Hai Ba with eyes full of near‑pity.
"Brother, you're still the brave one, huh."
"Don't end up crying too miserably later."
Jin Chen raised his brow slightly, too lazy to waste words, and moved straight into action.
He was swift; facing the several blades slashing at him from all sides, he sidestepped to block and seize, and Hai Ba didn't even see how he got right in front of him.
When he came to, an irresistible force struck him, landing two heavy punches on his face that made him see stars and left half his face instantly numb.
His whole world spun, leaving him powerless to fight back.
Jin Chen seized him and, offhand, fished something from the sea.
He hauled up a fine treasure.
Next, Hai Sanshiyi felt a chill at his neck as a wet, slick thing was slipped over him.
Everyone took a close look, and their scalps went numb.
It turned out to be a black‑and‑white banded sea snake, obviously extremely venomous, its icy body coiled around Hai Ba's neck.
Hai Ba was so terrified his soul fled, and he let out a piercing shriek.
"Ah! What are you standing there for? Quick! Grab him and kill him!"
However, before his words even faded, Jin Chen, like a magician, produced another two similarly patterned sea snakes from somewhere and swiftly flung and wrapped them around Hai Ba.
He then tied them into a bow.
"Get lost."
Jin Chen kicked him in the butt, sending Hai Sanshiyi stumbling; he almost let the snake slip into his mouth.
The icy, slick sensation of the snake's body sliding over his skin terrified Hai Ba to the brink of collapse.
One bite from this thing brings excruciating pain—your life hangs by a thread.
Meanwhile, the mutinous pirates who had tried to rush in to help were quickly subdued by Bu Zhangji and his lackeys; in a few moves they were knocked down with blades at their throats, groaning for mercy.
Many shouted desperately, "Boss, spare us! Boss, spare us! We were forced! If we don't obey Eighth Master, our families will be killed by him! Now the whole Iron Cable Gully is under his control!"
At that moment, amidst the surrounding fishing boats, a bold fisherman finally poked his head out cautiously.
They were one by one even darker, thinner, and more wan than before, their faces bloodless, their eyes filled with fear and repressed anger.
They pointed trembling fingers at Hai Ba, accusing him of his atrocities.
Bu Zhangji listened, his eyes growing colder, and he snarled through clenched teeth.
"Beast."
Jin Chen watched Hai Ba, wrapped in several sea snakes, shivering with fear and in agony, and did not let the snakes bite.
He waited a moment, letting fear fully erode Hai Ba's will, until Hai Ba's spirit was nearly broken, then he stirred his intention slightly.
Those several sea snakes snapped open their mouths, and their fangs instantly pierced Hai Ba's flesh.
Hai Ba let out an inhuman, piercing wail, his whole body convulsing violently, and soon he breathed his last in extreme agony.
The rebel leader fell, and the remaining pirates dropped to their knees begging for mercy.
The fishermen were greeted by the pirates' lackeys and together helped move the cargo aboard the ships.
Someone looked at Jin Chen, feeling both grateful and amazed, and quietly asked Bu Zhangji, "Boss Bu, who… who is this mighty warrior? Where does he hail from, and why is he willing to help us like this?"
In this desolate iron‑rope ravine, I have never seen anyone with such extraordinary bearing and such terrifying skill.
Bu Changji immediately puffed out his chest, his voice loud and proud, as if announcing something tremendous.
He is my husband!
Jin Chen heard this, turned his head to glance at him, and a smile appeared in his eyes.
