Chapter 2573: Dear Detective Mr. 25
One knock, two knocks, three knocks……
On the third knock, there was still no response from inside the door.
An inexplicable feeling of anxiety grew tighter and tighter, making A'erruike unable to stop his thoughts from racing.
Xilier's sleep is also very light; even the slightest movement when sleeping together can easily wake him, making it impossible for him to sleep so deeply.
There are only two reasons why the door wasn't opened.
Xilier hasn't come back at all, or…… something unexpected happened to him in the room.
This thought made A'erruike's face sink, and without hesitation he shoved forward with force.
Just as he exerted force, the door lock made a soft click from inside and was opened.
A'erruike couldn't stop his momentum in time, his body staggered forward a step with the force of pushing the door, and he stumbled straight into a warm embrace that still carried the fresh scent after a bath.
The young man inside seemed to have just finished showering, wearing a thin silk robe, the tips of his golden hair still damp with moisture; the sudden impact made him retreat half a step to steady himself, and he instinctively embraced the person who had crashed in.
He was bewildered and surprised, his blue eyes in the dim light seeming to be veiled by water mist.
"A'erruike? What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Jin Chen lowered his head slightly, looking concerned at the person in his arms.
A'erruike's nose pressed against the slightly open collar of Jin Chen's sleepwear, like a wary hound, he rudely grabbed the collar of Jin Chen's robe and sniffed carefully.
There was not a trace of the black market's distinctive gunpowder haze.
He lifted his head, his green eyes sharply scrutinizing Jin Chen's innocent, puzzled face.
The absurd suspicion that had tormented him all along finally settled in his heart.
He kissed the corner of Jin Chen's lips, his narrowed eyes still holding danger, "Why did it take so long to open the door?"
Jin Chen relaxed his body, lazily leaning back against the door panel, lowering his gaze to A'erruike, "I need to dry my hair and put on clothes before opening the door, right? A'erruike, what's wrong with you?"
A'erruike ignored his explanation, his gaze sweeping past Jin Chen's shoulder to land on the dark morning robe hanging on the room's coat rack.
He released his grip on the collar, reaching out to feel the cuffs and hem of that morning robe.
These small movements were naturally impossible to hide from A'erruike; he turned around, his face turning completely cold.
"You went out again tonight, Xilier."
Jin Chen looked at his step-by-step pressing demeanor and instead let out a low laugh.
He straightened up, opening his arms toward A'erruike, defenseless, submitting to inspection, even tilting his head slightly, his blue eyes holding a hint of teasing.
"Yes, I went to Aojia Zhuang Yuan."
A'erruike's face grew even stranger, a mix of irritation and an indescribable sourness welling up, prompting him to blurt out, "You went to see John Aojia again!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the jealousy was so obvious it embarrassed even himself.
Hearing that, Jin Chen shifted from teasing to helpless laughter, quickly waving his hands, "No, A'erruike, how could you think that?"
He kept his arms open, his voice softening, "I was just going to investigate a case."
A'erruike stared at him for a few seconds, muttered something unintelligible, then stepped forward and forcefully pulled him into his embrace, feeling his back.
"Damn," he buried his face in Jin Chen's still-damp neck hollow, "Why did you run off to Aojia Zhuang Yuan alone in the middle of the night? What were you doing there? It's not safe there at night."
Jin Chen yielded to the embrace, his fingers lightly combing through A'erruike's hair at the nape of his neck, calmly explaining, "I followed the butler Aidega and discovered many new clues."
Hearing that he went to investigate a case rather than a private meeting, A'erruike breathed a sigh of relief, then immediately realized how close to losing control his questioning and jealousy had been.
This left him feeling strange and embarrassed.
Before, he would never have had the desire to constantly monitor someone's movements and interfere with their freedom.
"From now on…… don't go out alone at night again."
A'erruike still said those words, his tone firm, but if you listened closely, underneath lay a careful worry of being disliked and driven away.
Jin Chen, however, good-naturedly nodded, raising no objection.
He curled his knuckles and gently brushed against A'erruike's cheek.
"So, A'erruike," he shifted his tone, his voice carrying just the right amount of neglected loss, "Why did you come looking for me so late? Judging by your attire…"
His gaze swept downward, taking in the suit A'erruike hadn't had time to change out of, "You seem to have just returned as well—did you go see someone? Is there… something urgent?"
A'erruike: "……"
Could it be that he should say it was because a mysterious black-clad figure had left him unsettled, even absurdly suspecting Xilier?
That's why he rushed over to verify?
Good heavens, if Xilier heard that he would surely cry.
A'erruike lowered his head, somewhat impatiently pressing his lips to Jin Chen's.
A near-greedy, demanding kiss.
A'erruike had an almost obsessive dependence on Jin Chen's scent—a clean, warm fragrance with a unique allure that could soothe the killing frenzy and restless agitation he'd just brought back from the black market, transforming it into another kind of excitement that was more comforting and indulgent.
Jin Chen appeared to submit passively to the eager, possessive kiss, his arms encircling the neck, his fingertips soothingly stroking the back and tight waistline.
While responding, he guided A'erruike slowly backward until they hit the edge of the bed, lost balance, and fell together onto the soft bedding.
It wasn't clear who accidentally knocked over the small oil lamp on the bedside table, the glass shade emitting a faint clink.
The light source went out, plunging the room into darkness; only the cold moonlight filtered hazily, casting the overlapping silhouettes on the bed.
This was absolutely not a rational choice.
A'erruike knew deep down that he was still in a nighttime state prone to losing control, his vigilance and self-restraint far weaker than in daylight.
But bodily desire overrode everything.
He gradually indulged, even actively responding to Jin Chen's gentle yet irresistible caresses and kisses, unable to stop himself from becoming immersed.
His body grew soft and hot, his soul seemingly trembling as well; those eyes that held a cold green gleam darkened in the night with heavy lust, almost ready to spill all his love and desire.
Until Jin Chen's warm kiss landed on his tense abdomen.
A'erruike's body tensed for an instant, a vague sense of danger prompting him to snap awake.
He subconsciously grabbed Jin Chen's wrist, his voice hoarse from emotion.
"Xi Li Er……"
Jin Chen's movement stalled; he lifted his head to look at him.
Under the moonlight, his azure eyes seemed to hold a pool of rippling spring water, gazing over wetly, and then he went to kiss the corner of his mouth.
"A'Er Rui Ke……Can't I?"
A'Er Rui Ke fell silent for a moment.
It's not that he couldn't; every inch of his skin was shouting with desire.
But……this feeling is too unfamiliar, too overwhelming……
A'Er Rui Ke slightly turned his head, avoiding those tender eyes, pulled the person back into his embrace and held them tight, his voice hoarse in compromise: "……Come."
Thus, he missed the smile hidden in Jin Chen's eyes in the darkness.
And the ensuing kiss, even more surging and deep.
In the Dazed moment of sensory impact, A'Er Rui Ke's deep consciousness once again uncontrollably surfaced with the illusion of overlaying the gentle, pure-hearted Cyril with the powerful, dangerous Chen.
But of course, it was also different; the experience with Cyril was even more wonderful, even more enthralling……
