Chapter 2791

~8 min read 1,552 words

The long, intense kiss lasted until Cheng Lang was practically short of breath before it reluctantly ended.

His lips were slightly swollen from the kiss; he held Jin Chen, steadying his breathing, lightly inhaling his scent—the scent of longing, familiar—feeling the warmth of his heartbeat.

The embrace that had been empty for over ten days was finally filled; the sense of steadiness and satisfaction made Cheng Lang unable to help but let out a sigh.

Cheng Lang regained his composure, took out the slippers he had prepared for Jin Chen from the shoe cabinet.

"Hurry and change your shoes, it's cold outside." Cheng Lang's voice was slightly hoarse, gentle and delicate.

Jin Chen changed into the slippers, and Cheng Lang helped him take off his coat, hung it up, and folded the scarf neatly to the side.

After doing that, Cheng Lang took Jin Chen's hand and led him to the living room, then pulled him into his embrace again.

Jin Chen let Cheng Lang have his way, his body sliding down to lazily lean against Cheng Lang's embrace, his fingers intermittently playing with the pajama buttons, his nose brushing the skin on Cheng Lang's neck.

"Are your uncle and aunt not home?"

"They went to visit relatives." Cheng Lang embraced him, then lowered his head to kiss the hair whorl, his fingertips twining a strand of hair, "I guessed you might come these few days, so I didn't go with them."

Cheng Lang thought of how Jin Chen had hurried back early just to see him, his heart softening and swelling; he couldn't help but tilt his head again, lightly biting Jin Chen's lower lip, "Let's have a meal with my parents tomorrow, then we'll head back to the apartment, okay?"

"Okay." Jin Chen readily agreed, tilted his face up and pressed their lips together, rubbing them, his tongue tip sliding over.

Their breaths intertwined again, the space on the sofa becoming cramped.

The doorbell suddenly rang sharply, accompanied by several youths shouting in unison, full of energy.

"Lang ge! Are you home, Lang ge? We promised yesterday to play games together! We've come to find you!"

"Lang ge! Open the door! We brought snacks and drinks!"

"Cheng Lang gege!"

Jin Chen raised an eyebrow, covering his mouth with the back of his hand to stop Cheng Lang from kissing him, his tone teasing.

"Just how many good younger brothers do you have?"

Cheng Lang clicked his tongue in annoyance, forehead pressed against Jin Chen's, his breathing still a little unsteady, "I forgot… When you weren't here, I got bored at home, so a few days ago I promised my relatives' younger cousins that I'd take them to play games today…"

Jin Chen let out a low chuckle, reached out to rub Cheng Lang's waist, soothingly patting him, "Let them come in; it'll be nice to have everyone together."

Cheng Lang, however, was reluctant; after finally getting some alone time, their intimacy hadn't been enough before a bunch of brats came to disturb them.

But it was the New Year holiday, so it wouldn't do to leave them outside; he sighed, gave Jin Chen a hard kiss, then got up to open the door.

As the door opened, four teenage boys and girls surged in, dressed fashionably, their eyes sparkling.

"Lang ge, you finally opened the door! We thought you had gone out…"

The tallest boy, who was leading, had his sentence cut off when he saw a handsome guy on the sofa; the words he was about to say got stuck, "Huh? Lang ge, did you bring a friend over?"

The other three also turned to look; the little female cousin exclaimed, "Handsome guy!"

Jin Chen tidied his slightly disheveled collar; only his lips were a bit redder than usual. Sitting there, his outstanding looks were almost unreal.

Cheng Lang stepped aside to let them in, closed the door, and introduced, "Jin Chen, you can just call him Jin ge."

"Jin ge hello!" Cheng Mao was the first to react, quickly greeting.

"Hello." Jin Chen gave a slight nod.

Cheng Lang greeted them to have a seat, then walked back to sit beside Jin Chen, his arm resting casually on the back of the sofa behind Jin Chen in a half-embrace pose.

He looked at the few youngsters, "Didn't you say you came to play games? What are we playing?"

"Wind and Moon Martial World!" Lang ge, you promised to take us into the Gloomy Shadow Stone Cave Instance!" Cheng Mao brightened up, pulling out his computer from his backpack as he said, "Does Jin ge play too? Lang ge is amazing in the game! Our server ranks in the top ten; he's my idol!"

Cheng Lang smiled, turned his head, and exchanged a glance with Jin Chen.

The little female cousin opened the computer, curiously asking Jin Chen, "Jin ge, do you play Wind and Moon Martial World?"

Jin Chen's gaze fell on Cheng Lang's face, seeking his opinion; Cheng Lang raised his eyebrows, indicating he could do as he pleased.

So, Jin Chen turned back, "Xun Chen."

"Oh, let me search… Xun… what?!" the little female cousin exclaimed in a whistle-like tone.

Cheng Mao's computer almost slipped from his hands; he fumbled to catch it, his eyes wide as copper bells.

"Who? Xun Chen? Which Xun Chen! Is it that… the server's… Xun Chen the Great God?"

Jin Chen nodded, under their looks as if they'd seen a ghost.

"Mm."

"Good heavens…" Cheng Hao murmured, his gaze toward Cheng Lang full of awe and envy, "Lang ge, you should have said you were friends with the Great God!"

Cheng Lang finally laughed out loud, put his arm around Jin Chen's shoulders, chin slightly raised, his face beaming with a triumphant smile, "How about that?"

He raised his eyebrows at the several petrified kids, his tone full of smugness, "Impressive, right? Even the Great God can be lured home. Now, hurry up and go online."

"Yay!!!" the youths cheered.

Bringing along a group of half-grown youths to play games, full of energy and shouting, naturally there was no way to divert attention to whisper sweet nothings with his boyfriend and vent the accumulated longing.

Cheng Lang felt frustrated.

After over ten days of longing, finally seeing each other, only to be surrounded by a bunch of little light bulbs—how was he supposed to adapt?

He tilted his head, seeing Jin Chen's side profile staring at the screen, fingers tapping the keyboard; what Cheng Lang's mind conjured was not that, but how those hands would linger on his own body, the calm peach-blossom eyes, how the corners would redden, beautiful enough to startle.

Cheng Lang, absentmindedly, unleashed a skill, nearly failing to dodge the boss's area attack; Cheng Mao shouted, "Lang ge! Watch out! Move!"

Cheng Lang focused, the warrior's blade slashing down.

Taking advantage of the youths being fully focused on dealing with a wave of small monsters in the instance, with shifting light and shadow on the screen and nobody noticing this side, Jin Chen slightly turned his body and leaned toward Cheng Lang.

He swiftly placed a dragonfly‑touch kiss on the corner of Cheng Lang's lips, brief and fleeting.

Cheng Lang turned his head, meeting Jin Chen's lovely peach‑blossom eyes; his heart instantly eased, and he couldn't help but turn up the corners of his mouth, leaning in shoulder‑to‑shoulder, his fingertips lightly scratching Jin Chen's palm.

His little boyfriend was really thoughtful.

Cheng Lang simply leaned against Jin Chen, transferring half his weight onto him, and the two stayed like that while he continued to lead a few kids through Instances.

Cheng Lang's mind was full of: My boyfriend is so cute. Sneak‑kissing me is totally against the rules. I really want to hug him right now.

After clearing an Instance, with Xunchen Dashen leading the team, things went smoothly, the boss was easily pushed over, and a few decent pieces of equipment dropped.

Four boys got so excited their faces turned red, surrounding Jin Chen with nonstop questions.

Expert, how did you control that shadow clone just now? It was too fast!

Expert, expert, how do you usually practice your controls? Any tips?

Cheng Lang saw the time was about right, gave a light cough twice, started probing indirectly, "It's almost evening; your parents should be calling you home for dinner, right?"

Cheng Mao was listening intently, not turning his head, "Lang bro, you forgot? Our parents and uncles/aunts are all having a family dinner at grandpa's place today; they told us to sort it out ourselves, or we could go out to eat? After we finish eating we can come back and continue; chances to play games with the expert don't come often!"

Cheng Lang, upon hearing that, that was out of the question.

If he agreed, tonight there would be no chance for just the two of them.

He immediately reached out and tapped Cheng Mao's head, fierce, showing his older brother's authority.

"Not tonight, you bunch of kids about to start school—you have no right to stay up late gaming; wait until tomorrow, we'll make plans then."

"Ah... Lang bro!" several boys let out wails.

But Cheng Lang's attitude was firm, coaxing and urging, he finally managed to send them out the door.
