Chapter 2842: My Wife Stalks Me Every Day 02

~8 min read 1,438 words

Don't pick up wild people on the roadside.

The villain Yun Jian and the coffee shop owner next door each picked up a fainted person at their shop entrance one rainy afternoon.

Yun Jian had picked up Song Cun, the protagonist's uke whom a friend had asked him to look after for a while, while the coffee shop owner had picked up Tan Quan, the protagonist's seme.

Tan Quan fought in underground black-boxing matches, his methods ruthless—he must obtain whatever he wants. He fell for Song Cun at first sight, following him even in the rain, and when he saw Song Cun faint for no reason he went to help, but also felt dizzy; after waking up, he learned that Song Cun had lost his memory.

Having heard that the amnesiac Song Cun would stay on working at the flower shop, Tan Quan also spent a sum of money, insisting on staying at the coffee shop.

The story starts from here.

Tan Quan grasped a certain secret of Song Cun, shifting from secretly stalking to openly threatening and seducing him, demanding that Song Cun be with him; Yun Jian naturally saw that Tan Quan was no good person, and out of helping his friend's younger brother, he interfered a few times, earning Tan Quan's grudge, which almost led him to wreck the flower shop.

Thus Song Cun endured and got along with Tan Quan for a while, but for the amnesiac Song Cun, getting along with Tan Quan was truly difficult, and he feared he couldn't hide it.

Until one day, Song Cun suddenly regained his memory.

That day, Song Cun disappeared, the flower shop closed, and the frustrated Tan Quan, having nowhere to vent his anger, smashed the coffee shop.

After a while, Tan Quan died on the stage of the underground black-boxing arena.

Only half a year later did the flower shop reopen, but Song Cun never returned here.

Jin Chen is that unlucky coffee shop owner.

Jin Chen lay in bed, eyes open staring at the ceiling for a few seconds, and clicked his tongue.

What a bizarre plot.

A slightly tense voice of 999 came from his mind: 【Lord Jin Chen, the plot is just like this; tonight it's raining, and tomorrow you and the Main God will each pick up the protagonists' key plot points.】

Jin Chen sat up from bed without turning on the light.

The street where the coffee shop is located isn't prosperous; by this hour, most shops on both sides are closed, leaving only streetlights casting a dim yellow glow in the rain.

His shop is on the corner, next door is Yun Jian's flower shop; the two detached small buildings stand side by side, with an aged camphor tree between them.

The plot played through his mind once again.

Jin Chen picked up the cold water on the table, took a sip, his brows slightly furrowed—too strange.

As if some key information had been deliberately hidden.

Underground black-boxing arena.

Jin Chen said to 999, 【The original plot mentions little about it, but Tan Quan's connection to that place is deep. I need to go check it out.】

999 exclaimed, 【You want to go directly kill the protagonist seme to prevent later events?!】

It's no wonder it's prone to wild speculation—Lord Jin Chen of the Quick Transmigration Bureau has already made a name for himself by not following the script, and even this newly arrived auxiliary system has been told to stay flexible.

Jin Chen raised an eyebrow, walked to the wardrobe, casually took out a black shirt to change into, and his ambiguous smile was faintly reflected in the blurred window glass.

【Not a bad idea, but I don't want to be harassed by Heavenly Dao as soon as I arrive—constant thunder and rain are quite annoying.】

As soon as the words fell, several muffled thunderclaps exploded outside the window.

'I'm just going to familiarize myself with the environment, and see if I can do something ahead of time.' He explained while fastening his shirt buttons, 【Song Cun loses his memory tonight; if I can prevent this, the later developments might be different.】

999 fell silent, feeling that Lord Jin Chen was right, yet also thinking his attitude was a bit too relaxed.

【Alright, I'll prepare the false identity you need to enter the underground boxing arena right away.】

At 1 a. m., the rain eased slightly but hadn't stopped.

Following the address given by 999, Jin Chen came to the southern part of the city, to an industrial zone that looked abandoned, and stopped before a building marked Warehouse No. 9, then knocked five times on the side door as instructed.

The door cracked open, an eye in the darkness sized him up for a few seconds, then the door was pulled open.

"Newcomer?" The man opening the door wore a purple mask, his voice hoarse, "Do you know the rules?"

"I do." Jin Chen handed over his ID card to be scanned.

Jin Chen received the black cloak and mask handed to him; the mask covered only the upper half of his face, leaving his lips and chin exposed.

He donned them swiftly and followed the guide inside.

The warehouse interior was much larger than it appeared from outside; after passing through a narrow, dim passage, a sunken circular space came into view, with an iron-caged boxing ring at its center and tiered seating all around.

There were many people, nearly all wearing the same black cloaks, only the mask colors differed.

Jin Chen quickly glanced around, recalling the rules 999 had mentioned earlier: red masks for guests, white for fighters, purple for staff and companions, black for ordinary spectators.

The atmosphere here felt a bit odd; Jin Chen couldn't pinpoint what was wrong, but there was a sense of dissonance.

The spectators were excited, shouting back and forth, and many of their comportment had an indescribable wildness.

To the left, a man in a black mask was tearing at the edge of his glove with his teeth; to the front‑left, someone was scratching his arm and neck with his nails, leaving red streaks.

Jin Chen continued scanning the crowd for his target; according to the plot, Tan Quan should be here tonight, but after searching the spectator seats and the white‑masked fighters waiting by the ring, he found no one.

Jin Chen walked down another passage, nearing its end, when he suddenly heard a muffled groan coming from inside.

He stopped at the corner, turned sideways to look.

Inside was a small room that looked like a temporary rest area or storage closet.

A white‑masked person lay curled on the floor, body shaking violently, fingers dug deep into the ground, nails worn flat, bloodied; his exposed arms bulged with muscle, veins standing out, in an extremely unstable state.

Jin Chen was about to retreat when that person suddenly lifted his head, the eyes beneath the mask staring straight at him through the darkness.

They locked eyes for a second.

Jin Chen calmly withdrew his gaze and turned to leave.

He hurried out of the side passage back to the main corridor, but near the exit he brushed past someone just coming in from outside, who wore a red mask.

As they passed, Jin Chen sidestepped to yield; the other seemed equally unwilling to linger, heading straight out.

The red‑masked man took a few steps, then suddenly stopped.

He stood where he was, slightly tilted his head, twitched his nose, and the gaze beneath his mask hardened.

After standing there a few seconds, the man turned and followed in the direction Jin Chen had gone.

Jin Chen had already reached the outskirts of the boxing arena.

No matter how he searched, he couldn't find the two protagonists, but since he'd come, he couldn't just make the trip for nothing.

Jin Chen readjusted his mask, found a relatively secluded corner to sit, and turned his gaze toward the central fighting arena.

The fight on the stage was nearing its end; Jin Chen found it uninteresting, and Zero Egg didn't joke with him, so he inevitably felt bored, was about to leave, but then felt a gaze.

Jin Chen's eyes behind the mask flickered slightly; he looked toward the rear, seeing only a black cloak flash past before it vanished.

After watching a while longer, Jin Chen grew sleepy from the spectacle, got up, and left.

Not long after, the red‑masked man slowly emerged, took the seat Jin Chen had just vacated, his brows and eyes weary, yet he couldn't help breathing in the lingering scent in the air.
