Chapter 2946: You Are My Fashion Darling 05
The fitting room corner.
Jin Chen lowered his eyes, looking a bit cold; the aftereffects of low blood sugar lingered, the candy in his mouth almost melted, sweet enough to feel cloying.
"Who are you?" Jin Chen asked again.
Chenshu rubbed the pad of his finger against the back of Jin Chen's neck, then said, "I'm from the program team."
Chenshu hesitated for two seconds, still not revealing his identity just yet, then after speaking he adjusted Jin Chen, who was still half-leaning in his embrace, his tone gentle as if coaxing, "Still dizzy?"
Their current pose could be called ambiguous: Chenshu half-kneeled, Jin Chen's upper body leaned against his embrace, head resting on his shoulder and neck, Chenshu's hand wrapped loosely around his back.
Jin Chen wanted to shift away, but his body wouldn't obey; any movement made him dizzy.
Chenshu seemed to know this excuse was a bit perfunctory; he reached out to steady Jin Chen's shoulder, letting him lean more comfortably.
Jin Chen rolled the candy with his tongue; it was almost gone, sweetness spreading through his mouth.
He actually didn't like sweets, yet had this odd quirk: after eating candy he found it too sweet, and either way he felt unpleasant.
But at that moment his irritation had faded a little, perhaps because of this person's warm, soothing scent that made him drowsy.
Jin Chen shook his head, leaning his forehead against the windowsill, trying to get away from that hand.
Too close.
Chenshu noticed his faint resistance but didn't let go; his fingertips brushed aside a few stray strands of hair on Jin Chen's forehead, grazing his skin.
"Why did you suddenly faint? Didn't rest well, or didn't eat well?"
"Jin Chen: ……"
He lifted his eyelids, lazily glancing at Chenshu.
Is this person a little too familiar?
He was exhausted, lacking the energy to respond, his eyelids drooping wearily, "You're not from the program team, are you?"
"Hmm."
"You sent me the notice in the early hours."
"You said participation and preparation were mandatory; he was so sleepy he could barely keep his eyes open, and upon arriving he just sat there."
Jin Chen spoke slowly, but Chenshu inexplicably heard a hint of complaint.
"Chenshu: ……"
He felt a bit guilty, "It won't happen again."
Jin Chen took two seconds to react; his thoughts, slowed by fatigue and low blood sugar, interpreted that sentence bluntly as:
"The program team realized he was a trouble, and would no longer force him to participate in activities, possibly even letting him withdraw."
This realization sparked Jin Chen's interest after a long time.
He looked at Chenshu; in those peach-blossom eyes usually veiled in lazy mist, a faint light flickered—though it soon scattered from lack of energy—"You want me to withdraw?"
"That would be great."
"It's not that he didn't persist; it's the program team making him withdraw. The company side, and that manager who constantly finds fault with him, probably have nothing to say either."
"Chenshu wouldn't allow him to withdraw."
He reached out, fingertips pressing gently on Jin Chen's temples, his voice warm, "How could that be? You're a prospect the program team has their eye on."
Jin Chen was already a bit dazed, his thoughts slow; before realizing this was inappropriate, the first thing he felt was comfort, even unconsciously leaning toward that warm source.
Just then, the back door of the fitting room was pushed open.
The staff member whom Chenshu had earlier sent to find someone appeared at the doorway, accompanied by an anxious-looking cameraman.
The staff member kept muttering under his breath, "No one in the dormitory, none in the restroom… where else could he be… Jin Chen athlete might really have met with an accident…"
Her words cut off as she saw the legendary CEO of the Opalus Top Luxury Group half-embracing the Jin Chen athlete, hand still on his face, and countless industry rumors, unspoken rules, and visions of a sugar daddy and a petite model flashed through her mind.
Then the staff member reacted, grabbing the cameraman behind him and yanking him around.
The cameraman's lens traced an arc in the air, catching only a blur before he pointed it at the wall.
"Cameraman:???"
"Bullet comments:???"
": What the hell! Watching this made my head spin!"
": What happened? Why won't you let us see? (horrified)"
": Did Zhaige really meet with an accident?"
"Off-screen audience gripped with anxiety, the atmosphere inside the fitting room grew even more eerie."
"The staff member stood rooted, neither advancing nor retreating, his expression priceless."
"Hearing the commotion, Jin Chen turned his head and let out a lazy click of his tongue."
"Chenshu, meanwhile, remained composed; he released his hold, stood, smoothed his cuffs, and the lingering warmth in his eyes quickly faded, returning to his usual aloofness."
"Only after he stood fully straight and made space did the staff member, trembling as if facing a great enemy, dare to whisper to the cameraman, 'Can… can we…?'"
"The camera was aimed at the windowsill."
"Sunlight streamed in from outside the window, falling on the two people in the corner."
"One sat, one stood; one bright, one dim—though their statuses and circumstances were worlds apart, sharing the frame gave an odd sense of equal footing."
"It felt less like a superior and an athlete, and more like two outstanding individuals from different fields who happened to cross paths."
": There's a strange tension… I can't put my finger on it, but I'm loving it!"
": Holy shit this shot… both of their looks are off the charts—is this what they mean by evenly matched?"
": Zhaige's face is really… beyond words."
": God chases Zhaige to feed him, Zhaige kicks over the bowl and says, 'God, I'm just gonna lie flat.'"
": But he's really handsome—I'm dead!!"
"Chenshu watched Jin Chen as he tried to rise, grabbed his arm briefly, and asked, 'Can you still participate in the event?'"
Jin Chen looked up at him and shook his head.
Not participating anymore; I have no energy.
Jin someone's current condition—walking feels like stepping on cotton; if he goes to stand before the camera for another ten minutes, he'll likely just collapse on the ground.
Chenshu looked at his face, his tone so soft that the staff wondered if their ears were faulty, "Then go rest first."
Jin Chen tilted his head, stared at him for a few seconds, his gaze straight, without expression, just looking.
After a moment, Jin Chen shifted his gaze and let out a lazy "oh."
He came down from the windowsill, his foot wobbling when it touched the ground, but he quickly steadied himself, then walked out with that airy, hesitant step.
The staff let out a sigh of relief; finally he left.
She was about to speak when she saw Chenshu raise his hand to gesture at them.
Don't follow me.
Then Chenshu followed Jin Chen.
Staff: "……"
She silently swallowed the words that had risen to her lips.
Forget it, she can't handle the Chief Executive Officer's affairs.
