Chapter 2961: You Are My Fashion Darling 20
When Jin Chen woke up, the sky outside the window had already darkened; his headache had mostly faded, leaving only a heavy dullness from over‑exertion, making even lifting his fingers feel like an effort.
But he had enjoyed a rare, peaceful sleep—no nightmares, no sudden waking—so he didn't want to open his eyes; his lids lay lazy as he planned to keep sleeping, his consciousness half‑dreaming, half‑awake, and he could feel someone nearby.
Chenshu leaned against the single‑person sofa at the bedside, laptop on his knees, keyboard taps light and intermittent—obviously he was working.
Jin Chen couldn't be bothered to open his eyes, just listening; he didn't know how long passed before the keyboard stopped, and then a warm, soft kiss landed on his brow.
Obviously, someone had no intention of letting him keep lazing about; instead, they intensified their attentions, sliding a hand down his hair, fingertips brushing his ear before pinching his earlobe.
Jin Chen endured two seconds, then finally opened his eyes, a hint of post‑sleep grumpiness on his face; he raised a hand and seized Chenshu's wandering wrist, trapping that hand in his palm.
Chenshu was pulled forward, leaning in; his laptop had already been closed and set aside, and he didn't struggle, letting Jin Chen hold him in that posture, lowering his gaze with a hint of a smile. "Awake?"
Jin Chen said nothing, applied a little force, and pulled Chenshu entirely into his embrace, locking him in, chin resting on his shoulder, then closed his eyes; Chenshu didn't struggle, lying still and letting him hold him for a while.
Then he started being mischievous again.
His fingers slipped under the blanket, lightly jabbing Jin Chen's waist, then tickling his chin, like teasing a cat.
Jin Chen: "……"
He could bear it no longer, opened his eyes, and stared straight at Chenshu: "Enough already?"
Chenshu lowered his head and kissed the corner of Jin Chen's mouth: "Get up and eat; I had the food reheated twice—if you don't eat now, your low blood sugar will act up again."
Jin Chen stared at him for two seconds, tightened the arm around Chenshu's waist, pulled him in closer for a firm hug, then released him; Chenshu rose, walked to the clothes rack, and put on his outer coat.
Jin Chen turned his face, squinting at his back; as he watched, memories of the night before surfaced, and his mood felt like cotton warmed by sunlight—gradually becoming fluffy and warm.
Jin Chen lowered his gaze, the corner of his mouth curving upward; his mood was quite good.
Even though his face still showed little expression.
Chenshu finished putting on his coat, turned his head, and met Jin Chen's unwavering gaze—like obsidian immersed in clear water, unblinking as it fixed on him.
Chenshu walked back to the bedside, sat on the edge of the bed, and examined his complexion carefully: "Anywhere else feeling uncomfortable?"
Jin Chen shook his head; he had slept enough and his headache had eased. Being looked at by Chenshu like this, he rare‑ly felt a urge to say something.
He tilted his head, looking at Chenshu with leisurely interest: "You're not swamped with work, are you, Chief Chenshu?"
"As the CEO of Opalus, you ought to be swamped with affairs."
A smile spread in Chenshu's eyes; he genuinely tilted his head, adopting a thoughtful pose, then looked at Jin Chen and said, "Do you think I'm too busy, that the time I spend with you isn't enough?"
He nodded to himself, as if answering his own question: "Actually, I feel the same way."
Jin Chen raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue.
Chenshu rose, walked to the wardrobe, and pulled out a cardigan jacket: "The island has big temperature swings between day and night—don't get chilled."
Speaking, he watched Jin Chen take the cardigan, his movements a bit sluggish as he slipped it on, then reached out to help, pinching the collar's edges to straighten it.
While fastening the cardigan's front with its elaborate chain decorations, he continued: "So, I've already begun adjusting and delegating part of the authority to handle core affairs. The European and American branches will take on more routine decisions. Some unnecessary meetings and social engagements, I've also had the secretary reschedule or cancel."
Jin Chen felt a little uneasy lifting his chin, let him fuss, lowered his gaze, and watched Chenshu's downcast brows; silence flowed between them for a few breaths.
Chenshu straightened up, stepped back half a step, satisfied with the result, then lifted his eyes to meet Jin Chen's gaze: "From now on I should be able to free up more time to keep you company."
The cotton‑like feeling in Jin Chen's heart swelled further, warm warmth filling his whole chest, leaving him momentarily speechless.
He suddenly reached out, pulled Chenshu into his embrace, lowered his head to bury his face in the shoulder crook, and tightened his arms.
"Boyfriend."
Chenshu hummed in acknowledgment, his eyebrows lifting slightly.
But he knows Jin Chen; initiating a hug and calling him "boyfriend" surely isn't just for coaxing.
What comes next is probably not serious talk.
Sure enough, the next instant, the person buried in his shoulder shifted, his tone grave as if discussing some international affair.
"As your boyfriend, may I have a little privilege?"
Warm breath brushed his ear; Chenshu tilted his head, trying to create a little distance to see Jin Chen's expression clearly, mirroring the tilt with a thoughtful look: "For example?"
Jin Chen: "Give back my game console."
Chenshu: "……"
He reached out and pushed Jin Chen's face away.
That solemn face was pushed to the side, yet the anticipation in his eyes hadn't diminished at all.
Seeing Chenshu's silence, Jin Chen assumed he would refuse, and his pretty peach‑shaped eyes narrowed instantly.
Chenshu conceded: "Forget it… just play if you want to."
Just as Jin Chen's eyes lit up, Chenshu lowered his head and kissed the corner of his mouth: "But… come to my room tonight to play."
Having said that, he didn't wait for Jin Chen's reaction, turned, and headed first for the door, his steps unhurried, adding with a smile: "Boyfriend, the meal's on the table—eat while it's hot."
Jin Chen stood where he was, dazed for two seconds, the sentence turning slowly in his mind.
"Tsk."
But immediately after, the corners of Jin Chen's mouth turned up; he lowered his gaze to his wrist, where the earlier bruise had faded considerably, the medicated skin still retaining a faint scent of ointment—probably applied by Chenshu while he slept.
Jin Chen stared at that bruise, his gaze somewhat vacant.
He himself had actually long ceased to care—whether it was pain or stigma, habit had numbed him. He could shut out the world, indifferent to others' opinions, expecting no understanding.
But someone had carefully bandaged those hurts he no longer minded, even caring more than he did about whether the wounds hurt or would leave a mark.
Indifference is genuine.
But if someone cares for him in his stead, if someone is willing, because of the pain behind his indifference, to cherish him a little more…
Jin Chen lowered his eyelashes, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing the cool ointment on his wrist.
Not bad either.
