Chapter 583: Reverse Strategy 42
Red silk flowers hung high on the eaves, corridors, and treetops; the flower spirits all clenched their determination, determined to let the Yao Queen see the Yaogong at its most beautiful.
Wherever they went, floral fragrance filled the air, a riot of purple and red.
At the auspicious moment, Jin Chen wore the Yao King's new resplendent robe, its hem trimmed with gold thread, his waist bound with a flowing-cloud silk nine-tailed sash; every gesture bore boundless grace and charm.
Jin Chen walked toward the person he cherished, the one he would spend the rest of his life holding hands with.
At the end of the long bridge stood Chenshu, sent forth by the Yao elders.
He too wore a red robe matching Jin Chen's style, yet upon closer look it was even more luxurious, crowned with a jade cap and his face veiled by a jade tassel chain.
The new robe was of crimson shark-skin silk, adorned with the most dazzling flow-cloud treasure pearls between heaven and earth.
Seeing Jin Chen approach, Chenshu's smile could no longer be restrained, despite the Yao elders having repeatedly urged him to remain composed before coming out.
The two walked toward each other at the same time, joining hands in the long bridge corridor.
In an instant, petals filled the sky, butterfly wings fluttered, and the horizon's glow blazed like fire.
Yet Jin Chen felt that no matter how beautiful the scenery, it paled compared to the person before him curling his lips in a smile.
Hand in hand, they walked to the Yao clan's altar, each holding three sticks of incense, facing together the golden body of the Yao God.
"Pay respects—"
The Grand Elder beside them shouted loudly.
Before all the Yaogong's Yao folk, they simultaneously bowed and kowtowed to the Yao God.
Next came the universal Yao celebration.
They turned to face the vast Yao crowd already kneeling.
Immediately afterward, Jin Chen made a move that no Yao expected.
He embraced the increasingly handsome youth, and under the astonished gaze of the altar elder, he poured the Yao King's spiritual law into Chenshu's body, sealing it with a kiss.
Chenshu had not expected it either.
He had thought it was merely a spur‑of‑the‑moment urge to kiss, but feeling the Yao King's spiritual law surge into his sea of consciousness, he quickly suppressed his divine power and accepted the transmission.
This meant sharing lifespan and sharing blessings.
Looking down at the slightly startled youth in his arms, Jin Chen drew a faint smile, kissed him again, and spoke softly in a voice only the two could hear.
"To gain Shu'er is truly the fortune of this life."

His fingertips brushed the man's noble, handsome cheek; Chenshu's love in his eyes lingered, warm and full of reliance.
"Me too."
"Ritual complete—"
The Grand Elder's voice rang out again, and all the Yao knelt once more.
Thus the great wedding was concluded.
——
Jin Chen kept his promise faithfully.
On the sixth day after the grand wedding, Four Snakes came to report affairs, only to discover that their Yao King and the new Yao Queen had vanished without a trace.
He fell silent for a few seconds, then noticed a stalk of message grass before the writing desk.
Fine, they've run away.
He said he was taking leave to accompany the king on a tour of mountains and rivers, to see all the world's splendid scenery, and barring any surprise, he wouldn't return for nearly two hundred years if nothing major happened.
"Four Snakes! Have you seen the king?"
Five Deer and Six Shadows walked in, arms linked, presumably also unable to find the king.
Four Snakes tossed the message grass to the two of them to hear.
Thus the three monsters fell silent together.
Four Snakes cleared his throat softly: "Six Youngster usually sticks close to the king's shadow—how did you not notice they left?"
Six Shadows' face flushed.
"The king is newly wed; he's often indiscriminate about occasions, I feel embarrassed watching, and he won't let me look."
He silently raised the candle in his hand: "Erlang, life lamp bright, he's awakened."
Five Deer gave a snort: "Still pretty quick."
"Come on, since the king isn't here, there's no need to report."
The three monsters went together to see the awakened Erlang.
As for why they didn't summon Big Tiger and Three Lions,
the three single Yao said they had unilaterally isolated the two who had just confirmed their feelings, and now those brothers flaunt their love everywhere regardless of occasion.
Upon reaching Erlang's courtyard, he had already sat up from the bed, gazing blankly at the surroundings.
His gaze toward them was also wary.
Five Deer stared back, his whole body stiffening; after a moment he whispered, "Good, this gaze is very Erlang."
Indeed, still the original flavor! Even his appearance hasn't changed.
"Do you still remember us?" Five Deer asked a somewhat foolish question.
Erlang looked at him, shook his head, and spoke in a hoarse voice.
"Who are you?"
Five Deer's eyeball rolled, he exclaimed "Ah!", and walked over: "Actually you're a newly transformed little monster; we all count as your big brothers."
"Come, call out 'big brother' for us to hear."
Erlang: "……"
He instinctively felt this monster was spouting nonsense.
"Get lost."
Wulu was greatly shocked, scrambling and crawling to hide behind Sishe, "You guys said he had no memory, right? Why is he still acting like this?!"
Sishe: "Stupid, he's just reforging his flesh body, his soul hasn't changed."
Liuying pointed at Erlang, "You, Erlang."
Then pointed to the side, "Sishe, Wulu."
Finally pointed at himself, "Liuying, we are all trusted aides of the Yao King."
"You... have suffered grave injuries, and had no choice but to reforge your flesh body."
Erlang barely understood, then asked, "What about One and Three?"
Liuying: "We've isolated them."
Erlang: "???"
"There are only six monsters total, and yet they're still doing internal isolation!"
He suddenly began to worry about his life after losing his memory.
"There's something else, I want to ask you."
The first thing Erlang saw upon waking was Liuying, and his attitude toward him was a bit better.
"In the primordial chaos, I often dreamt of some things."
He looked at the three silent monsters, frowned, and asked, "Langnian, who is that?"
Wulu, who had just taken a sip of tea: "Pfft——"
He opened his mouth wide to look at Erlang, then looked at the two equally silent monsters, dragged them, and left first.
"Bang."
The door slammed shut, and Erlang sat cross-legged on the bed, eyebrows raised in doubt.
"Is this name that deadly?"
He scanned the room again, and suddenly noticed a recess at the head of the bed.
"What's going on!"
Wulu lowered his voice to complain, "He doesn't even remember who he is, yet he still remembers Langnian!"
Sishe slapped away the hand he had placed on her shoulder, "True love perhaps leaves a deep mark on the soul."
Liuying also whispered.
"'One could say Langnian is the culprit who brought him to this state, so from now on he won't have any longing.'"
Sishe: "Well said, but what if he wants to take revenge?"
Wulu hissed, stroked his chin in thought, "Or we could say Langnian is his brother, but he died protecting him."
"'Anyway, Langnian can't leave Lingnan mountaintop; if we don't let him come over, we won't meet.'"
"'This plan is actually better than making him the culprit.'"
All three monsters thought it feasible.
Thus the door was opened again; facing Erlang's doubtful gaze, Wulu coughed a few times to clear his throat.
"'Langnian is actually your brother; you also know you suffered grave injuries, and he in fact died long ago protecting you...'"
Wulu timely began to grieve, his sleeve wiping at nonexistent tears.
"'Don't be too sad, after all, the living must go on.'"
"'Really?'"
Erlang's gaze was doubtful, and he also looked at the silent Sishe and Liuying.
The two monsters nodded in unison.
