Chapter 91: Saving the Innocent Little Kitten 12

Early the next morning.

The report from that news agency came out.

Since there were pictures, videos, and the truth, many fans unfollowed Ling Siyuan and Song Che, and verbally condemned them in the comment section and private messages.

After all, the stickiness of internet celebrity fans is not as strong as that of real celebrities; besides those who truly spent money and joined fan groups, many people merely occasionally watched videos, found them interesting, and just clicked follow.

So unfollowing them wasn't a big deal for them, but the cat-abuse incident stirred up a huge wave.

In modern society, many people keep pets; even those who don't keep pets don't understand the psychology of such cat-abusers.

So this incident quickly spread on video platforms and major media platforms.

Originally, Ling Siyuan already had some estrangement with Shang Le due to the data tampering incident; the lawyer's letter and the black history of his past school bullying were simultaneously sent to Shang Le and the video platform.

They were completely disappointed in Ling Siyuan.

Shang Le still hoped to keep them if possible, after all, their company currently doesn't have many A-level streamers, and Ling Siyuan and Song Che are almost two major money-makers.

But due to the previous contract dispute with Yun Mi, the Legal Department of Jin Ting was under great pressure, overwhelmed, and couldn't attend to this.

As for the platform side, they never lack excellent streamers and bloggers; compared to keeping two streamers with blemished records, the platform would rather protect its own image.

So for these reasons, for a while no one spoke up for Ling Siyuan and Song Che, while fans wanted to explain, but then it came out that Ling Siyuan had also abused small animals during his college years, and even had campus bullying.

Now the evidence is completely piled up like a mountain.

As everyone knows, the internet's condemnation of a person is extremely swift.

And Jin Chen precisely used this point, almost without spending a single soldier, to completely push Ling Siyuan to the extreme.

Song Che, when it's time to decide, decides.

He had also received some family-related business education; he immediately cancelled his account, posted a Weibo to clear his name, claiming he had realized his mistake, being a first-time offender, hoping netizens would give him a chance.

Furthermore, he donated 1 million to the Animal Protection Association, and posted the donation proof on Weibo.

However, what he truly thinks behind the scenes is unknown to others.

And Ling Siyuan, he is unwilling to donate the money he has saved over many years to some damn association, and even more unwilling to have his easily obtained source of income smashed.

During these two days of exposure, he felt utterly depressed; on one hand he felt suffocated by the online attacks, on the other hand he didn't want to take actual action to prove himself.

Because he couldn't prove it, Ling Siyuan knows that the things exposed online are all true, so he has even less room to defend himself.

He thinks Song Che's actions are to distance himself from him, to return to a wealthy family and have a better outcome.

Ling Siyuan has already completely sunk into his own thoughts; or rather, stripping away his outwardly refined exterior reveals his true nature.

Song Che doesn't want to defend himself, and is even more dissatisfied with Ling Siyuan's passive attitude.

Thus the two broke up.

On the third day of the incident's spread.

Shang Le finally finished Yun Mi's contract termination procedures, sent away the representative of Jin Ting's Legal Department, and quickly had PR suppress the hot searches on major platforms.

They had consecutively lost a C-level streamer and an A-level streamer, suppressed by public opinion, and the company's vitality was greatly hurt.

The pot-bellied boss made a decision: even if fans and passersby criticize, he must do everything to keep Ling Siyuan.

With the company's help, Ling Siyuan recorded an apology video.

"I am Ling Siyuan, a signed streamer of Shang Le New Media Limited Company; regarding the events of this period, I personally feel deeply sorry and also guilty."

"When I was young and ignorant, I indeed made mistakes, and cannot defend myself; from now on, I will pay more attention to my words and deeds, absolutely not repeat them, hoping everyone can give me a chance."

Ling Siyuan recorded the video according to the PR draft, cursed a few times under his breath, then sent the video to the company.

He didn't notice that the camera, which should have been turned off, lit up again with a red light.

Shang Le quickly took the video and sent it out, while also buying a Weibo hot search.

But unexpectedly, that day coincidentally collided with a top-tier singer's official concert announcement.

Fans painstakingly manipulated data to push the keyword to the top of the hot search list, just to let more passersby click in to view and learn about this information.

But in an instant it was seized by a keyword from some unknown internet celebrity.

#Ling Siyuan apology

The hot search plaza instantly boiled over.

"? If you don't understand, just ask; wasn't the concert announcement just at the top of the hot search?"

"No, who is this person? Again, unintentionally occupying public resources with a fake apology?"

"Science Popularizer has arrived! This person seems to be the internet celebrity who recently got exposed for cat abuse and campus bullying."

"How disgusting…… who wants to listen to this apology, anyone can just move their lips; can't we do something substantive? The other person didn't donate money to the animal association, did they?"

Also, some singer's fans clicked in to watch and then gave a 'kind-hearted' explanation.

"Le, come give everyone a science popularization of what this Ling what element video means, 【I personally feel deeply sorry and also guilty】, meaning I know the situation can't be suppressed, so I have no choice but to come out and apologize."

"【When I was young and ignorant, I indeed made mistakes, and cannot defend myself】, meaning I was young before, I am still young now, who when young hasn't made mistakes? I know what you posted is true, but I just want to excuse myself."

"【Hope everyone can give me another chance】, meaning I have already apologized, let this matter just pass, let everyone give me another chance to make money."

Under this blog post's comment section, many passersby flocked in to mock.

"Hahahaha, the blogger is so awesome!"

"Save…… just who is Ling Siyuan treating as an idiot? Anyone who has been on the internet for a few years can see his meaning, it's outrageous."

In Shang Le's live stream room, Ling Siyuan stared at the phone screen, his fingers mechanically scrolling Weibo, his eyes filled with bloodshot, full of anger.

"Crazy! All crazy!"

"Always meddling in others' affairs!"

Two hours after the apology video was sent.

Shang Le's official Weibo also posted a PR article, bought a water army to speak in the comment section, to whitewash Ling Siyuan.

At the same time, they stirred up the fan group members, trying to arouse their sympathy; using Ling Siyuan's account for PR, they wrote a lengthy essay in the fan group, and the whole group fell silent for a few seconds.

Afterwards, a top-ranking sister who spent the most on gifting sent a sentence.

"How to put it, I'm a fan, not brainless……"

Then they left the group, immediately followed by more and more ellipses and quit-group notices.

PR: …… I'm so tired, I want to quit.

She sighed and reported the situation upward.

Shang Le's official Weibo released a clarification half an hour later, and then another video was exposed.
