Chapter 106: Zhu Yuan, You Aren't the Only One Who Will Be Afraid
If these words had come from someone else's mouth, they would have carried at least a hint of coquetry.
Yet, these words happened to come from the mouth of Sheng Yu.
It was entirely an overbearing demand, completely unreasonable.
"Don't you have a strong sense of social responsibility? Qi Qi is the future of the nation, and I am the present tense of the nation; both are equally important."
Zhu Yuan felt embarrassed for him, her face turning impossibly red.
Words she had merely spouted at random were actually being used by him to tease her.
The man's warm, dry hand burrowed inside from the hem of her clothes.
Zhu Yuan's body began to tremble bit by bit, her fingers curled and pressed against the door by his other hand; as that large hand inside her clothes gathered upward, a suppressed sob escaped her throat.
The next instant, her chin was lifted by the man, and the sob choked in her throat.
His tall frame loomed over her, the surrounding light suddenly dimming, and in the haze, she met the man's bottomless black eyes.
Zhu Yuan panicked and averted her gaze, her clothes being forcefully unfastened by him, rustling as they fell to the floor.
Her soft body succumbed inch by inch.
Outside the window, the shadows of the trees swayed.
She vaguely heard the man's extremely low voice pressed against her.
Zhu Yuan, you aren't the only one who will be afraid.
Like a ball of fire spreading through Zhu Yuan's chest, that scorching temperature made even her soul tremble.
Sensing her resistance and struggle, Sheng Yu pinched her chin to kiss her, possessing her without reservation.
Outside the house, the sun was bright.
Not far away, Situ stood in front of the building smoking with an expressionless face; he looked casual, yet no one could get within half a step of the lounge.
Qi Jing coaxed Qi Qi, preparing to take her to the hospital for a full check-up; he would only be at ease once he was sure she was fine.
Thanking Zhu Yuan would have to wait for another day; looking at this situation and the look on Sheng Yu's face just now, Zhu Yuan was likely unable to spare a moment.
He left with Qi Qi, and as the car drove to the entrance of the Horse Racing Track, many Bodyguards were deployed at the entrance and within the grounds of the Horse Racing Track.
Everyone was forced to have their phones checked.
The lead Bodyguard was Enzo.
The rear window rolled down, and Enzo saw Qi Jing, nodding respectfully, "Young Master Qi."
Qi Jing scanned his surroundings and immediately understood.
Many people had seen the scene of Sheng Yu risking his life to chase after Zhu Yuan on horseback, and it had even been filmed.
Enzo leading people to check phones was likely to avoid unnecessary trouble.
No wonder not a single whisper of news had leaked out before.
Judging by the extent of Sheng Yu's anxiety over Zhu Yuan, this matter hadn't been going on for just a day or two.
"Is this to guard against Sheng?"
Enzo had been by Sheng Yu's side for quite a while and knew that Qi Jing was someone Sheng Yu trusted; hearing him ask this, he shook his head, "Tu Ge said that Young Master Yu doesn't want to see photos and videos of Miss Zhu appearing on other people's phones."
Qi Jing was stunned for a moment, then suddenly felt a sour ache in his teeth.
This possessiveness.
"She is a stage actress, after all."
Although the audience was not allowed to take photos or videos during a stage performance, theater promotions, including the magazines Zhu Yuan shot covers for, would have her photos released.
Enzo was cryptic, "This is Young Master Yu's greatest tolerance."
Qi Jing clicked his tongue.
But soon, his expression changed slightly. He realized it wasn't that Sheng Yu tolerated others seeing Zhu Yuan's photos.
It was that Sheng Yu tolerated Zhu Yuan.
When had a person like Sheng Yu ever tolerated anyone else?
During the most difficult years, when Sheng Yu had just become the president of the Sheng Group, Sheng Hongyao had tripped him up at every turn, and he had never tolerated it in the slightest.
Whether it was the Board of Directors or executive meetings, he had never given Sheng Hongyao any face, and often Sheng Hongyao would be left with a livid face after being refuted by him in a few words.
If it weren't for the sake of his mother's belongings that Sheng Hongyao had hidden away, Sheng Yu probably would have overturned the entire Sheng Family long ago.
Qi Jing had thought Sheng Yu's tolerance could only be for his mother; he hadn't expected there to be another person in this world who would make him break his rules.
After Qi Jing's car drove away, Enzo continued to lead people to check the phones of everyone at the Horse Racing Track.
There weren't many people at the Horse Racing Track today; apart from the staff, there were only about twenty people. Once today's events leaked out, these people would all be suspects, and no one dared to risk offending Sheng Yu to cause unnecessary trouble.
After the surveillance footage was cleared, Enzo took the footage captured by the drone to find Situ.
"Tu Ge, should these be cleared too? I just took a look; Miss Zhu's posture while riding was too cool, it's a pity to delete it."
Situ had the face of an honest man, but his words and actions were crisp and decisive, without any hesitation, carrying a streak of ruthlessness.
Yet, facing Enzo, he couldn't help but show an expression of looking at a fool, "You'd better not praise Miss Zhu."
"Can't even praise her?" Enzo asked in a low voice.
"Try praising her in front of Young Master Yu and see if it works."
Enzo became obedient in a second, "Then I'll delete the data."
"Wait."
Situ stopped him, "Keep it."
He lit a cigarette; there were already three cigarette butts on the side, and the door of the house behind him had yet to open.
"What about that horse?"
Enzo knew he was talking about that horse, the one that was supposed to be ridden by Zhu Yuan, the horse that had the accident.
He replied: "It has already been locked in the horse pen."
"Go and interrogate them."
Enzo was stunned, "Tu Ge, you'd better be joking."
Tell him to go interrogate a horse? Can it even talk?
Situ frowned, and just as he lifted his foot, Enzo immediately pressed down on his strong thigh, "Tu Ge, I was joking, I'll go interrogate the stableman right now!"
But he was no match for Situ; Situ shook off his hand and landed a solid kick on his backside, "Get going already!"
Enzo clutched his backside and walked toward the horse paddock; seeing the Bodyguard approach, he immediately lowered his hand and put on a serious face.
"Brother Zuo." The Bodyguard stood respectfully to the side.
Enzo gave a grunt of acknowledgement.
Situ couldn't bear to look.
If it weren't for the fact that Enzo was highly skilled, quick-witted, and could put in a good word before Miss Zhu, he would have beaten him to death long ago.
Not far away, a red sports car was parked at the entrance of the Horse Racing Track.
Dong Shu looked back at the tightly shut door of that house, the corners of her lips slowly sinking.
She recalled, in a near-masochistic way, the lipstick stained on Sheng Yu's thin lips when Zhu Yuan and Sheng Yu dismounted, and Zhu Yuan's smudged lip makeup; there was no need to guess what they had done in the woods.
Inside that tightly shut door, half an hour had already passed.
How much longer until it ends?
The car sat quietly at a corner out of Situ's sight; as time ticked by second by second, Dong Shu remained in the car like a statue, her gaze fixed on that door, her fingernails digging into her palms.
Until that door opened.
Zhu Yuan stormed out from inside, while Sheng Yu, who followed behind her, looked satisfied and refreshed; he watched her with deep eyes, letting her vent her anger, then walked over and grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms.
Zhu Yuan's legs were likely weak, as she stumbled into his arms without standing steady; she said something, and the teasing smile in Sheng Yu's eyes deepened a few notches—to any onlooker, it looked like he was coaxing the person in his arms.
The car window rolled up, Dong Shu withdrew her gaze, and the car left the Horse Racing Track with a roar.
