Chapter 126: She Is Only Being Protected for Young Master Sheng

~8 min read 1,473 words

Zhu Yuan saw them and tossed Zhu An'an aside; she was as heavy as a dead pig, and it was only thanks to her own strength that she could manage it.

"An'an!"

Feng Mingyue and Zhu Chaoqin screamed in terror and rushed over, and Zhu Yuan considerately made room for them.

"How could this happen, An'an!" Feng Mingyue looked at the clothes on her body, which were soaked red with blood, and didn't dare to touch her at all, not even knowing where she was injured.

Feng Mingyue burst into tears.

No matter how she called out, An'an didn't respond; what kind of inhuman torture had she endured before falling into a coma?

The nanny was trembling all over at the sight; the smell of blood permeated the air, a shocking scene.

Zhu Chaoqin glared at Zhu Yuan with a ferocious expression and roared, "What exactly did An'an do to wrong you that you would harm her like this!"

It seemed they didn't know what had happened, or perhaps, in their eyes, those things weren't worth mentioning at all.

"What did she do?" Zhu Yuan met his gaze coldly, without the slightest retreat. "She went to my grandfather and sowed discord, forcing him into such a rage that he vomited blood and fell into a coma, nearly losing his life. I should have taken her wretched life directly; what business would you even have left!"

Zhu Chaoqin's expression changed slightly. "What did you say?"

Feng Mingyue looked at the unconscious Zhu An'an and, losing her reason, raised her voice: "Judging by what you said, isn't your grandfather fine now? Why must you still beat An'an like this!"

Isn't he fine now?

A light, airy sentence, dismissing the brush with death her grandfather had experienced so simply.

Zhu Yuan returned the same words to them: "Isn't Zhu An'an not dead yet? Why must you still scold me!"

"Zhu Yuan, you are simply unreasonable!" Feng Mingyue cursed her, using her full name.

If this had been during the time she had just returned to the Zhu Family, Zhu Yuan would surely have felt aggrieved and heartbroken, but now she had long since seen through the character of the Zhu Family and remained completely unmoved.

"Quick, call a doctor!" Feng Mingyue realized. "No, we'll take her to the hospital now; we must take An'an to the hospital immediately."

The nanny and the Bodyguard stepped forward to help, but just as they touched Zhu An'an, a tall and burly figure walked in from outside the door.

"Without Miss Zhu's word, no one is allowed to step out of this door."

The person most commonly seen by Sheng Yu's side in the outside world was Situ; few had seen Enzo.

Therefore, Zhu Chaoqin did not recognize him, and he scolded Zhu Yuan, "Tell your man to move aside!"

"Enzo, close the door." Zhu Yuan's tone was indifferent.

"Yes, Miss Zhu." Enzo did not hesitate in the slightest and closed the villa's main door with a backhand motion.

Feng Mingyue was kneeling on the ground trying to lift Zhu An'an up, and seeing this, she looked at Zhu Chaoqin in a panic.

And Zhu Chaoqin clearly hadn't expected Zhu Yuan to throw her weight around in front of him.

He turned around and said sternly, "Are you all dead!"

The five Bodyguards of the Zhu Family stepped forward simultaneously; they looked equally tall and burly, but Enzo didn't even move his feet an inch, taking them down one by one in a single move, resolving the situation instantly.

He cursed them as trash in his heart, then looked at the livid and anxious Zhu Chaoqin with an expressionless face.

"Forgot to introduce myself; my name is Enzo, a subordinate of the Sheng Family's Young Master Sheng Jiayu."

Enzo!

Zhu Chaoqin had of course heard of this famous name, he just hadn't seen the man himself.

Zhu Chaoqin froze in place, his face showing a moment of disbelief, but slowly, a chill of despair welled up in his heart.

Previously, when An'an offended Second Master Pei, he had urged Zhu Yuan to save her; at the time, Sheng Yu had broken into the Pei Family Bank, and he had known then that Sheng Yu was not ordinary toward Zhu Yuan, but he hadn't expected him to arrange such an important subordinate for her.

He looked at Zhu Yuan with bloodshot eyes, suppressing his anger, and asked in a deep voice, "What exactly do you want to do?"

Enzo pulled over a chair with a backrest and placed it behind Zhu Yuan.

He ignored Zhu Chaoqin's paper-tiger posturing, and his voice was not intentionally lowered, spoken specifically for them to hear.

"Miss Zhu, don't tire yourself, sit and talk. If you don't want to look up to speak to them, I'll have them all kneel and look up at you."

"That won't be necessary." Zhu Yuan sat down accordingly.

Feng Mingyue cried and begged her: "Yuanyuan, let's talk about anything later, let us take your sister to the hospital first, okay? Last time she broke a finger and lost too much blood, her body is very weak and hasn't fully recovered; you'll be the death of her like this."

"I had almost forgotten, since you didn't mention it, that she broke a finger." Zhu Yuan swept a cold, indifferent glance at the person on the ground.

Thinking Zhu Yuan had softened, Feng Mingyue said hurriedly: "Yes, Yuanyuan..."

"To be able to continue coming out to do evil after breaking a finger, it seems it was broken too little."

Zhu Yuan's light, airy words shattered Feng Mingyue's hope.

Her face turned pale in a flash, her lips trembling, "What did you say..."

Zhu Yuan looked at her face, without the slightest softening, and said word by word, "If I had known, I should have chopped off all her fingers."

Feng Mingyue collapsed onto the ground.

Zhu Chaoqin hadn't expected her to be so ruthless, and he slammed a hand hard against the shelf of the curio cabinet.

Suddenly, Enzo drew the handgun from behind his waist, the pitch-black muzzle aimed at him.

"No! I beg you, don't!" Feng Mingyue was so scared she wanted to throw herself over.

Zhu Yuan looked up at Enzo, "It's fine, I wasn't startled."

Enzo wasn't worried about her being startled; with her nerve, what could possibly startle her?

He was simply protecting her on behalf of Young Master Sheng, not letting her suffer any grievances.

Enzo obediently put the gun away and swept a cold glance at the nanny, "Don't you know how to pour a cup of tea for Miss Zhu?"

The nanny scrambled to pour the tea, and Enzo took the cup before handing it to Zhu Yuan.

Zhu Yuan drank the tea, "What I want is very simple: issue a statement severing the father-daughter relationship with Zhu An'an."

"Impossible!" Zhu Chaoqin raised his voice in refusal.

Feng Mingyue shed tears, "How can you be so heartless?"

Zhu Yuan wasn't the least bit surprised by their reaction; she just sneered: "Zhu An'an did so many bad things to me, and I spared her, yet she nearly caused my grandfather's death; I am indeed too heartless."

Zhu Chaoqin took a deep breath, "The rumors about you and Second Master Pei last time were purely a misunderstanding; you are still clinging to that matter, it was not An'an's fault at all."

Zhu Yuan set her teacup aside, and upon hearing these words from Zhu Chaoqin, she suddenly seemed to understand something.

She stood up and walked toward the person on the ground.

"What are you doing?" Feng Mingyue immediately stepped forward to block her.

However, Zhu Yuan easily dodged her and stepped on the back of Zhu An'an's hand; the person who had supposedly "fainted" suddenly let out a miserable shriek.

"An'an!" Feng Mingyue hugged her in distress and shrieked at Zhu Yuan, "If you want to touch An'an, you'll have to go through me first!"

Zhu Yuan looked down at them from above, "Ask her yourselves what exactly she has done to me."

Zhu An'an's face was devoid of color; held in Feng Mingyue's arms, she shed tears of humiliation, "I admit that I had a slip of the tongue and nearly harmed Grandpa Zhu, but if you are determined to condemn someone, you will always find a pretext—I have never done anything to hurt you!"

Zhu Chaoqin also knelt beside Zhu An'an, shielding her.

Throughout the entire ordeal, there was not a ripple of emotion on Zhu Yuan's face; watching her own biological parents protect a snake-hearted adopted daughter, she only felt it was incredibly ironic.

She suddenly spoke: "Do you think all the videos have been deleted?"

The cold wind whistled through the eaves, carrying with it the faint, lingering scent of snow.
