Chapter 184: I Will Never Leave You
Back at the Hot Spring Villa, Zhu Yuan pulled Feiyuan into her arms and turned to ask Sheng Yu, "I didn't dare ask before, why did you name it Feiyuan?"
"Why didn't you dare ask?"
"You were so fierce back then..." Zhu Yuan said softly.
Sheng Yu stared at Feiyuan, and the moment the dog's head rubbed against Zhu Yuan's chest, he couldn't help but grab it by the neck and pull it away, holding it with one hand, "No matter how fierce I am, aren't you still bold enough to do anything?"
"I am not!" Zhu Yuan reached out to save Feiyuan, but Sheng Yu's jealousy flared up; he wouldn't let her hold it and tossed it to a servant.
The man chuckled, "Heh, do you want to think back carefully on how indulgent I am toward you?"
Zhu Yuan actually subconsciously thought about it.
Her expression suddenly turned cold, "Is that what you call indulgence? You were clearly taking by force..."
However, before she could finish her sentence, Sheng Yu reached out and pinched her lips, pulling her into his arms as he changed the subject, "I thought of you when I saw it, and it's fat, so that's how the name came about."
He finally understood a woman's ability to bring up old scores; no wonder Yuan Fengye had to change girlfriends every few days.
But he didn't feel any aversion to Zhu Yuan being like this.
Yet, Zhu Yuan's emotions were rising.
Sheng Yu pressed her against the bedroom door and kissed her eyes, then kissed the tip of her nose, his hot, damp lips lingering on the edges of her lips, teasing her until her legs went weak, before he picked her up and laid her on the large bed.
With his hands pressed on either side of her, his eyes were dark and bright, "Since my mother passed away, I have lived in calculation and violence. This is the first time I've liked a girl, and I don't know what to do; I can only follow that set of predatory methods in my heart."
Like...
With her heart racing against her chest, Zhu Yuan felt a moment of oxygen deprivation, and her hands involuntarily rose to wrap around Sheng Yu's neck.
"Sheng Yu, no one is perfect, including you, and including me."
At this moment, she felt as if she had truly walked into this man's heart, seeing that fragile heart beneath his arrogant and cold exterior that he didn't let people touch easily.
His hardness and his predation all stemmed from the insecurity in his heart.
The fear of her leaving.
She stroked Sheng Yu's somewhat stiff hair and said gently, "I will never leave you."
Sheng Yu held her tightly in his arms, feeling her steady, powerful heartbeat passing through flesh and blood to reach the depths of his soul.
His chin rested on her neck, and he laughed in a low voice, "Are you petting a dog?"
"Sheng Yu."
Zhu Yuan called his name.
The man hummed, his thin lips kissing her petite earlobe.
Zhu Yuan was between laughter and tears, "Sometimes I really want to say that when the atmosphere is good, you don't have to use your mouth to speak."
Having been tossed back and forth by Sheng Yu at the hospital, Zhu Yuan was exhausted by now, and curled up in Sheng Yu's warm embrace, she fell asleep before long.
Watching her soft little face pressed against his chest, and remembering the words she said—I will never leave you—the corners of Sheng Yu's lips curled up.
At this moment, his phone on the nightstand vibrated.
He reached out to take the phone and swiped the screen open with one hand.
It was a message from Situ—Young Master Yu, Hai Bin has been caught.
A name from long ago, so long that it could make one have the illusion that it had already been forgotten.
The screen went dark; he glanced at the sleeping Zhu Yuan, lifted the quilt to get out of bed, and left the master bedroom.
Inside the study, Sheng Yu toyed with a cigarette in his hand, not lighting it.
"Where is he?"
Situ replied, "He is already on the way back to the country under escort. Our people found him in a sewer; he had been hiding in there for a long time and only gave himself away when he couldn't hold on any longer."
Sheng Yu gave a cold snort; truly a sewer rat.
He held the cigarette and tapped it on the table a few times, "Did you interrogate anything?"
"He insists that it was his own personal act and has nothing to do with anyone else."
"Personal act?" Sheng Yu sneered.
Situ hesitated for a moment and said, "He believes you are treacherous and took advantage of Young Master Lu's death to make a move on Young Master Lu's fiancée. Young Master Lu was kind to him, and he couldn't swallow this insult."
"What, the man is dead, what fiancée?" Sheng Yu's expression was cold and dark.
Situ observed the man's expression without changing his own, seeing that Sheng Yu was angry.
But was that the key to the problem?
"Do you believe this reason?" Sheng Yu looked at him.
Situ shook his head, "Even if the reason he gave holds up, his escape route out of the country was clearly planned. It would be very difficult for an ordinary Bodyguard like him to do it alone, otherwise, it wouldn't have taken us so long to find him."
Without a doubt, there was someone behind Hai Bin.
"After we found Hai Bin, we kept investigating along the path of Lu Huaizhan. What was your first reaction?"
Situ frowned, "This subordinate had an absurd thought: that Young Master Lu did not die. That was my first reaction."
"After he died, I confirmed it myself." Sheng Yu's eyes were dark and deep.
Situ was stunned for a moment, but in the next second, he realized: Sheng Yu had designs on Zhu Yuan from the beginning, and Lu Huaizhan, as Zhu Yuan's fiancé, was his greatest rival.
"This is the opponent's method of distracting us, making us keep investigating along this clue until we end up with nothing."
"Who do you suspect?"
The cigarette between his fingers snapped, and Sheng Yu sneered, "Shen Yijing."
Shen Yijing disguised herself too well, timid and afraid of trouble, clinging to men.
Sheng Hongyao, her own bedfellow, was kept in the dark by her, and even now, he is unwilling to believe that Shen Yijing was rescued by someone that day.
Sheng Family Old Residence.
Early in the morning, the Old Madam Sheng stood in front of Sheng Hongyao's bedroom door, sighed, and asked the butler, "He still hasn't come out?"
The housekeeper shook his head.
Ever since Shen Yijing's accident, Sheng Hongyao had either been drinking or locking himself in his room, refusing to speak to anyone.
There was no trace left of the demeanor of the group Chairman who once held everything in his grasp.
"Go get the key," the Old Madam Sheng instructed the housekeeper in a deep voice.
Before long, the housekeeper brought a ring of keys upstairs, found the key to this room, and stood at the doorway, hesitating.
Old Madam Sheng watched him, annoyed, and snatched the keys, "Give them to me!"
The door lock clicked open.
Old Madam Sheng pushed the door open and walked in; the massive room was devoid of any light, pitch black, and there was not even a shadow of a person to be seen.
She frowned and ordered the housekeeper, "Go pull back the curtains."
After the curtains were pulled back, Old Madam Sheng saw Sheng Hongyao sitting on the floor by the side of the bed.
He slowly raised his hand to shield his eyes from the blinding light and said hoarsely, "Close them."
The housekeeper glanced hesitantly at the Old Madam, not daring to move.
Old Madam Sheng leaned on her cane and gave a cold snort, "Just for the sake of one Shen Yijing, look at what you've turned yourself into?"
"You are a fifty-year-old man, not some twenty-something-year-old brat; acting half-dead over these matters of love—what would it look like if word got out!"
