Chapter 32: Dark Possessiveness

~9 min read 1,632 words

Taking advantage of the moment he was speaking, Zhu Yuan suddenly broke free from him, intending to pick up the Electric Baton on the floor.

Sheng Yu pulled her back with a backhand motion; Zhu Yuan could almost hear the sound of her wrist bone snapping. She bent over in pain, but the next second, the force on the back of her neck tightened abruptly. She was forced to lift her head, and the man's kiss descended once more.

It was not like the playful one from just a moment ago.

It was a frantic plundering, as if he wanted to tear her apart and swallow her whole.

Sheng Yu stared at Zhu Yuan's pained face as he kissed her; she retreated step by step, and he pressed forward with every step.

In the floor-to-ceiling window of the dining room, the man's tall figure loomed over the petite woman in his arms. The warm yellow light was exceptionally cozy; if not for the woman struggling violently in the man's embrace, the scene would have been nothing short of warm and romantic.

Zhu Yuan suddenly felt her body lighten; she was lifted up by Sheng Yu and placed on the dining table.

The man's powerful waist pressed between her legs, danger on the verge of erupting.

Sheng Yu pinched her chin and demanded a kiss wantonly, only pausing his movements when he tasted a salty, bitter flavor in his mouth.

He opened his eyes to find Zhu Yuan's face covered in tears; after his lips parted from hers, she turned away and could not stop crying.

The sound of that crying reached his ears, and Sheng Yu frowned. Looking at her lips, which were slightly pouted from being kissed, he said with displeasure, "Are you that sad?"

Zhu Yuan did not answer him, only crying incessantly, sobbing until she kept sniffling. Sheng Yu, annoyed, grabbed the tissue box from the dining table and threw it beside her hand.

He strode away from the dining room with his long legs, while the hand Zhu Yuan used to clutch the tissues trembled uncontrollably.

Her pupils, behind the tears, were exceptionally clear.

It had been a long time since she had pretended to cry so loudly.

But the effect was good; Sheng Yu was indeed feeling put off.

Not long after, Sheng Yu returned to the dining room and glanced at the floor; the Electric Baton that had been emitting a buzzing sound was gone.

He swept a glance at Zhu Yuan, who was still sobbing, and said coldly, "Eat."

Zhu Yuan looked at the dishes on the table, which had already gone a bit cold, and they were all spicy dishes. Thinking of how he could not eat spicy food, she said in a tearful, very sensible tone, "I'll make you something else."

"Another one of your 'hard' dishes, right?" Sheng Yu exposed her without mercy.

He had strong teeth, yet that beef was so tough he could only swallow it whole.

With that level of culinary skill, she had the nerve to make him eat it.

Zhu Yuan lifted her tear-reddened nose and nodded, eyes brimming with tears.

She stole a glance at him and saw that his hair was a bit damp, with water droplets on his face; he must have gone to wash his face just now.

Sheng Yu stared at her, the fire in his heart rising and falling, never once extinguished.

Before long, Situ brought people in to clear away the cold dishes on the table, replacing them with a table full of fragrant and appetizing food.

In the quiet dining room, one could only hear the crisp sound of plates touching the tabletop, along with Zhu Yuan's sobbing.

"Get out." Sheng Yu's tone was cold and indifferent.

Situ and the Bodyguard left one after another, and Zhu Yuan stood up, preparing to leave as well.

"Did I tell you to leave?" Sheng Yu did not grab her hand, but looked at her coldly. "I am granting you the honor of dining with me."

Zhu Yuan sniffled, her nose tip bright red, looking incredibly pitiful.

Sheng Yu's expression grew colder. "Stop pretending."

Zhu Yuan's sobbing stopped abruptly.

The embarrassment on her face was fleeting, yet it was caught entirely by Sheng Yu, and the corners of his mouth curled into a mocking arc.

She turned and pulled out a dining chair further away from Sheng Yu.

"Sit closer," Sheng Yu said, before picking up his bowl and chopsticks.

He gave Zhu Yuan no chance to say no.

Zhu Yuan had no choice but to pull out the chair to his left and sit down.

Just as she picked up her bowl and chopsticks, a bowl of prepared soup was placed in front of her.

A dark green porcelain bowl, containing fish soup boiled to a milky white.

She looked up, but only saw Sheng Yu's cold, indifferent face.

She silently picked up her spoon and took a sip of the soup; she had thought that after Sheng Yu exposed her, he would continue what he hadn't finished earlier, but he didn't.

She couldn't understand Sheng Yu at all; this way of getting along, like a ticking time bomb, was agonizing for her.

"When you were with Lu Huaizhan in the past, were you also this fond of acting?" Sheng Yu asked out of the blue.

Zhu Yuan's hand holding the spoon paused; she became nervous the moment he spoke, a complete conditioned reflex.

Being with Lu Huaizhan...

Actually, during the time she was with Lu Huaizhan, she had been very relaxed. The thing she did most every day was bicker with Lu Huaizhan; she even wondered if Lu Huaizhan had been angered to death by her.

As she thought about it, she couldn't help but drift off, failing to notice the man's increasingly cold face.

Suddenly, her chin was gripped by a warm, dry hand. She looked up in panic, meeting those deep, dark eyes, only to hear the man say coldly and sternly, "I told you to answer, not to think about him."

Zhu Yuan's nostrils flared for a moment, her eye sockets gradually turning red, and the tears came as soon as she willed them.

How could such a palm-sized face hold so many tears!

Sheng Yu, annoyed, pinched her chin tighter. "Are you never going to stop? If you pretend to cry again, don't even think about leaving tonight!"

Zhu Yuan sniffled and held back her tears.

In her peripheral vision, the man picked up his bowl and chopsticks and ate quietly. Only she knew that she hadn't been pretending to cry just now; she had simply thought of Lu Huaizhan and felt aggrieved.

After Sheng Yu finished his meal, he didn't even look at her, turning to leave the dining room and heading upstairs.

Not long after, the sound of a car engine came from downstairs.

Situ stood at the entrance of the master bedroom on the second floor.

The room was dark, but the landscape lights from downstairs illuminated the balcony. He said to the man sitting there smoking, "Young Master Yu, Miss Zhu has left."

The man stubbed out his cigarette and gave a faint, "Mm." "Bring that man surnamed Lou here."

Lou Yi was brought to the open ground outside the small building.

The moment he saw Sheng Yu, he was so scared he knelt down directly, "Young Master Yu, Young Master Yu, spare me, I won't dare to do it again, I really won't dare to do it again."

He spread his hands, making a gesture as if to kowtow to Sheng Yu.

Sheng Yu walked over with a cigarette in his mouth, as if strolling in a courtyard, and stepped on the back of Lou Yi's hand.

The leather shoe sole pressed onto the back of his hand, and the pain made Lou Yi's face contort, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead, yet he dared not utter a sound.

The man lowered his eyes to look down at him, "Did you have an engagement with the Ling Family before?"

Lou Yi was stunned for a moment.

He had indeed dated Ling Bing for a period of time, and they were almost engaged back then.

But that day he went to see a play and fell in love with Zhu Yuan at first sight, breaking up with Ling Bing unilaterally; he even heard that because of this, Ling Bing had made things difficult for Zhu Yuan at the Lu Family on the day of Lu Huaizhan's funeral.

"Speak!" Situ urged coldly.

Lou Yi had a trauma regarding Situ; his body shrank back violently, and he hurriedly said, "Yes, Young Master Yu."

Ling Bing wanted to marry him, but it was only because of the resources of the Lou Family; although the Lou Family was far from being comparable to the Kyoto Five Great Families, they still had some strength among families in the same tier.

The Ling Family held a tight grip on Ling Bing, and she had no choice in her marriage.

Sheng Yu flicked the cigarette ash, "Since there is an engagement, then get married as soon as possible. You two are a match made in heaven; it would be a pity not to tie you together."

"Yes, yes, thank you for your guidance, Young Master Yu." Lou Yi was so grateful he was just about to kowtow on the spot.

Situ looked expressionlessly at the person being taken away by the Bodyguard, then silently turned and followed behind Sheng Yu.

If it weren't for Young Master Yu turning a blind eye, how could Lou Yi have possibly threatened Miss Zhu?

And how could he have made Miss Zhu take the initiative to ask Young Master Yu for help?
