Chapter 208: 208. The Three Little Girls in the Factory
208. Chapter 208: The Three Little Girls in the Factory
"Arrived?" Xing Tao and Tang Cai had already run near the overpass.
This was an abandoned factory site; the factory had moved elsewhere, and hardly anyone came here anymore.
Beneath the overpass lay several large pipes, occasionally leaking residual chemicals, filling the air with a foul stench.
Xing Tao followed Tang Cai straight into a small building beside them.
Behind them, Xiao Yun and Eliel gave chase.
Eliel wanted to reclaim all the Experimental Subjects, while Xiao Yun waited for an opening—he wanted to see what Xing Tao was doing.
In short, he would not believe Xing Tao had betrayed the nation.
"Doctor, everything in the Laboratory has been stolen!" Eliel called Dr. Xiao, his tone grave and helpless.
This was likely the first time anything had ever been stolen from the Night Watch Bureau.
The key issue was that none of the Night Watchers had helped—they'd just watched like spectators.
Dr. Xiao's voice came through the phone: "I've already transferred the Cultivation Product data, but these items must not be leaked—especially the Ghostly Flesh containing Ice Wall Creature genes. If accidentally released, they could form an entirely new hazardous entity."
"I don't know why the Demon Bear insists on seizing this, but under no circumstances can he succeed. Meisefu and his team are en route. If you can't recover it, kill Xiao Yun and the others. Remember: this Laboratory's existence must not be exposed—otherwise, Great Xia's Official will hunt and expel you."
Dr. Xiao cared little that the Demon Bear sought to steal this to enhance his power.
In his view, no matter how much the Demon Bear upgraded, it would remain a Ghost—he had plenty of ways to deal with it.
What he feared more was his own secret dealings behind the Official's back; if exposed, Great Xia's Official would never let him live.
The organization's strength was indeed great, but still weak compared to the entire Great Xia Official. He had not yet reached a level where he could oppose them.
Eliel nodded: "Understood."
He turned to watch Xiao Yun's back—Xiao Yun was strong, but what Dr. Xiao had brought would be stronger.
Wait for the right moment, and kill them all.
Xiao Yun's identity made him hard to kill, but right now, there was no time for hesitation.
He had openly let Xing Tao go inside the Night Watch Bureau—he could not be allowed to live.
Arriving here, silence engulfed the surroundings. Xiao Yun moved sideways, followed by Su Jinlong's Night Watchers.
Eliel's side consisted of Dr. Xiao's people.
The number of people on Dr. Xiao's side kept rising steadily.
Most were former temporary Night Watchers, but now they had clearly joined Dr. Xiao's organization entirely.
Liu Li whispered: "Brother Xiao, something's wrong. Their numbers are growing, and I sense hidden watchers—strangers, all with strong Qi."
"Yes, I felt it too. Why hide from Ghosts? I suspect they plan to strike us." Zhang Tao spoke after a moment of thought.
Their words caught Xiao Yun's attention—he'd been focused on Xing Tao and hadn't noticed the surroundings.
Now, hearing them, he released his Spiritual Qi—and realized:
The entire factory had been surrounded. This wasn't just about dealing with Ghosts—it was about eliminating them all.
Xiao Yun narrowed his eyes and coldly smiled: "Stay alert to your surroundings. We all know the truth about Xing Tao. If they dare move, we won't fear them."
Liu Li said: "Teacher once said Dr. Xiao was suspicious—he seems backed by some organization. Could it be these people?"
Zhang Tao analyzed: "I'm worried they've prepared thoroughly. We'll be hard-pressed to respond."
An organization even the Official couldn't trace, one that worried Su Jinlong—there must be many experts among them.
Will we even have a chance when the fighting starts? We don't even have a single B-Rank Night Watcher—only Xiao Yun, an A-Rank! Xiao Yun waved his hand: "Just stay careful. I'll go in and see. I believe Xing Tao isn't that kind of person—I need to ask him directly."
As he spoke, he stepped forward. Eliel saw him and walked beside him.
Xiao Yun asked first: "You're a Night Watcher too? Why have I never seen you before?"
Eliel smiled, his golden hair fluttering lightly: "I'm not. I'm here personally to assist Dr. Xiao—I'm one of his Spiritual Contracted people." "Spiritual Contracted people?"
Boom—
Suddenly.
In the instant they advanced.
A sound like a water wave exploding rang out, followed by a wave of black light spreading outward, engulfing the entire factory.
The sky lost its moon—only pairs of red eyes glowed, blinking above.
The eerie Spiritual Qi began to spread, and they had entered the Demon Bear's Infernal Domain.
The Demon Bear's Infernal Domain radiated Fear.
Eliel showed no fear—only sneered: "Looks like we'll find them soon."
Xiao Yun said nothing. A flicker of red light darted ahead.
Then, they heard laughter coming from ahead—light, cheerful giggles.
They looked closely.
Three children were playing, sitting on swings, pushing each other back and forth.
One child had delicate features, like a character stepped out of an anime; another had two heads, more like a denizen of hell.
The third was ordinary, hugging a dull gray stuffed toy, laughing endlessly.
Eliel narrowed his eyes; his Ghost writhed and transformed into a longbow.
He aimed at the three girls, pulled back sharply, and released a burst of Spiritual Qi.
The arrow pierced the air, moving so fast it shattered the void and instantly blew off Xu Bing's head.
It exploded suddenly.
Xiao Lili and Xiao Wan froze for a moment, then turned to look at Eliel.
Their faces turned icy.
Then Xu Mang roared and charged straight at her.
Eliel sneered and glanced back at Xiao Yun: "I hope you don't interfere with my capture of the Demon Bear and Xing Tao."
As she stepped forward, she suddenly felt something grasp her foot.
Looking down, a shadow pinned her firmly in place.
Immediately, Xu Mang descended from the air and slammed a fist down at her.
The two fists collided, and instantly a massive shadow appeared in the air, enormous beyond measure.
It looked like a small hill.
It grew larger and larger.
Upon closer look, it was a doll.
Eliel frowned, her right hand conjuring a blade to stab downward while preparing to dodge away.
Boom—
A Drumbeat sound froze her for a second, rendering her motionless.
Thud—
The Broken Doll plopped squarely onto her face. (End of chapter)
