Chapter 33: What? I was kidnapped by a lion!?

"Snow Dragon Fruit"

First-class resource; after ordinary lifeforms consume it, there is a certain probability of awakening; after extraordinary lifeforms consume it, they will gain an increase in spiritual power, and it also has a certain healing effect.

Ice Armor Crocodile's demon core

Medium extraordinary spirit beast's demon core, containing a small amount of ice-element spiritual power

I didn't expect this hunting squad to be so wealthy!

Chen Mo was somewhat surprised.

But now, these are all his.

Afterward, he also discovered a huge crocodile corpse in the last off-road truck.

Obviously, this is the owner of that demon core.

【These people, do you know them?】

After finishing these, Chen Mo walked up to Sang Qi and the others, and wrote in the snow.

Let me introduce, they are the Leopard Squad I mentioned earlier.

The fat commander chuckled awkwardly.

These days, in order to survive, he basically confessed everything he needed to.

When he previously saw a military drone, he was overjoyed inside.

However, after only 20 minutes, his hope came to nothing.

When he saw the Leopard Squad completely wiped out, the fat commander fell into utter despair! Even the strongest Leopard Squad was no match for this lion king.

No one could come to save them anymore! Chen Mo nodded.

Regarding the Tanzanian military's combat strength, he already had a basic understanding through the fat commander's words.

He knew the Tanzanian army had a strong awakened squad, but he didn't expect to encounter them so soon.

But these human awakened ones don't seem very strong, do they?

———————————

I'm not dead? Where am I?

Ka La Mu slowly woke up, discovering to his surprise that he had not died in the lion's mouth, but was lying on the front seat of the off-road vehicle.

Did that lion king not harm them?

Or is it just my nightmare? 'Colonel, you're awake!'

At that moment, a somewhat familiar voice came from his ear.

A black figure approached him quickly, holding a bottle of mineral water.

It turned out to be Sang Qi, the communications soldier of the second hunting squad that had lost contact! 'Sang Qi?'

'It's me, commander.'

Sang Qi replied.

'Have some water first!'

'What's going on?'

Ka La Mu looked around and found that he was the only one in the vehicle.

'What about the other members of the Leopard Squad?'

'Commander, rest assured, the Lion King did not kill them. Like you, they have all been placed inside the vehicles.'

Sang Qi replied.

At that moment, Ka La Mu seemed to have seen something terrifying, and instinctively stepped back a few paces.

Only see a huge ice lion slowly walk up to his side, using its claws to write in the snow——

【You have been kidnapped】

Looking at the giant lion writing Chinese characters by hand, Ka La Mu's pupils contracted, and he was extremely horrified.

Everything happening before his eyes had already overturned his worldview.

And those five words '【You have been kidnapped】' made his flesh creep!

Before he could recover, the frost giant lion continued writing in the snow——

【Ransom, exchange】

This was a plan Chen Mo had devised before deciding to attack the Leopard Squad——

To conduct trade with humans in the form of 'kidnapping'! Unlike the previous hunting squad, this awakened squad is of extraordinary significance to Tanzania, and they could never easily give it up.

After their disappearance, they would likely send tanks, armored vehicles, even fighter jets and other modern weapons to his territory.

Although Chen Mo is not afraid, he still does not want to clash with humans right now.

He just wants to quietly bide his time and develop.

And as long as this awakened squad is continually 'imprisoned' among the lions, yet not killed, while also proposing a deal to Tanzania.

After they pay a certain price, it is guaranteed that the Leopard Squad will be released after a period of time.

Tanzania, wary of acting rashly, will likely not dare take drastic action in the short term. This way he can not only gain more development time, but even have a chance to obtain an extraordinary resource! Two birds with one stone.

'Ransom?'

Ka La Mu simply could not believe his own eyes.

One day, he actually got kidnapped by a lion!

At that moment, Sang Qi brought over an iron box containing a bluish-green fruit.

Exactly the Snow Dragon Fruit, the divine medicine previously discovered by the Leopard Squad!

Two Snow Dragon Fruits.

One of them was eaten by Ka La Mu, giving his strength a nice boost.

There is still one Kalamu left, prepared to wait until this mission is finished, then reward it to the best‑performing soldier; unexpectedly, it has now fallen into the Lion King's hands.

Chen Mo pointed at the fruit, then pointed at Kalamu.

The meaning is obvious——

One fruit like this can redeem him!

Chen Mo also pointed to the more than twenty awakened individuals still unconscious in the vehicle, and wrote the number "5" in the snow.

One fruit can be exchanged for five people.

"I advise you to give up on that idea."

Kalamu said calmly:

"The value of the Divine Medicine far exceeds ours; the General would never agree."

"Roar!" (Just try and you'll see.) Chen Mo originally intended to ask this colonel about the extraordinary resources currently held by the Tanzanian military; now it seems unlikely.

He naturally also couldn't be bothered to continue the talk.

How could kidnappers and hostages discuss ransom! "Roar!"

He let out a low roar, then had San Qi use Kalamu's phone to call the number labeled "General".

——————————

Tanzanian Command Headquarters.

The General sat wearily at his desk.

Two hours ago, he dialed Kalamu's phone, but no one answered.

Next, he dialed several more numbers in succession, and also called the communications officer of the Cheetah Squad and other team members.

Without exception, none went through; the Cheetah Squad lost contact.

Their last message was that they had discovered the cause of Squad 2's loss of contact: an extraordinary lion pride.

After that, there was no further word.

He knew well the strength of the Cheetah Squad; even against a B‑rank demon beast, they could hold their own and even kill it.

What could have happened to them that they couldn't even send a message before all lost contact!? The General prepared to convene an emergency meeting, dispatching aircraft and troops to search for the Cheetah Squad's whereabouts.

Know that Kalamu and the Cheetah Squad were trained by him specifically to counter this spiritual aura resurgence crisis; without this squad, once the Great Snow Mountain officially descends, Tanzania will be extremely passive!

Now, retraining an awakened squad would be too late.

One step slow, every step slow.

Facing stronger extraordinary creatures and more precious Divine Medicine ahead, he could only seek foreign aid.

At that moment, the General's phone rang.

It was a video call.

And the name shown was none other than the lost Colonel Kalamu!

The General hastily answered; on the other end of the screen appeared a dark‑skinned young soldier.

The young soldier moved the phone away a bit, and the General then saw a massive ice lion, with Colonel Kalamu beside it and the other members of the Cheetah Squad.

"General, Colonel Kalamu and the Cheetah Squad are not dead, but they are now captives of the Lion King."

San Qi said calmly.

During these days with the lion pride, his mental fortitude has greatly improved.

That old man opposite him had once been his idol.

But now he represents the Lion King.

"I called you this time because the Lion King wishes to discuss a deal with you."

"What business?"

The General's expression didn't change, but he was deeply shocked inside.

He never expected the Cheetah Squad to be captured alive by extraordinary creatures!

Moreover, this extraordinary creature even has the Hunting Squad's members under its control, wanting to discuss business with him!? First day of the month, begging for a minimum monthly ticket duck~ (End of chapter)
