Chapter 103: Time Flows Like Water, Reversing Upstream

~8 min read 1,486 words

Wang Chuan turned and saw Lou Yihan, her figure slender yet distinctly curvaceous, dressed today in professional attire.

Her collarless gray suit fit her quite well.

Underneath, she wore a white striped shirt, paired with straight-leg trousers that hung slightly loose.

The entire outfit was of ordinary quality but neat, and on her feet were old yet polished black low-heeled shoes.

Lou Yihan had delicate features; her hair was tied in a low ponytail, with wispy bangs scattered across her temples, fine beads of sweat glistening on the tip of her nose as she strove to appear competent.

However, her eyes betrayed the greenness of someone new to the workplace, and her hands tightly gripped the edge of the document folder.

"Give me the materials!"

After signing, Wang Chuan instructed, "Next time you need my signature, if there are too many pages, stick small labels on each page requiring a signature; that way, we can find them quickly."

"After I sign, check through them again to see if I missed any."

"Understood, Boss Wang," Lou Yihan noted carefully.

"Don't just memorize what I said today rigidly. Someday you might face another Boss whose style is to have you point out every single page for him to sign."

"Adapt to the situation."

Wang Chuan picked up the entire set of application materials for the Company Name Pre-approval.

He said, "Wait here for a moment; I'm going to find the other Shareholder to sign. If any Nurse or Doctor looks for me, have them contact me via Mobile Phone."

"Don't just stand there; relax, go pour yourself a glass of Water to drink!"

Wang Chuan arrived at the Respiratory Medicine Doctor's Office. "Director Tao, good morning."

"Wang Chuan, what brings you here?" Director Tao Tao stood up. "I know, you certainly didn't come to see an old man like me."

Wang Chuan smiled slightly at the corner of his mouth and said, "Director Tao, how is that Cui Gan from last night?"

"You're asking about that? I called this morning to inquire. They said this Cui Gan admitted that after being caught near the Hospital and released, he came to stake out the Hospital to randomly retaliate against Doctors. He is set for fifteen days of detention along with a fine."

Wang Chuan frowned. "Has it been confirmed as a random crime? Was no one behind it instructing him?"

Tao Tao looked up. "Wang Chuan, did you offend someone? Surely not. If you offended anyone, it should be people from San Yang Village. By the way, I'll mention it to them later and have them investigate San Yang Village."

Wang Chuan neither affirmed nor denied, inwardly certain it was not random; when Cui Gan ambushed him, he had explicitly spoken Wang Chuan's name.

Never mind; since he was now Guo Yong's savior, Cui Gan would not target him again.

He would see later, upon encountering Cui Gan, whether he could dig up illegal facts concerning the Tang Family.

After all, last night's public security case, which did not constitute a minor injury, would not bring down the Tang Family even if they were implicated.

Wang Chuan then asked where Pei Nanli was and walked out of the office.

Behind him, Tao Tao took a sip of goji berry tea, wiggling his fingers. "This kid, I knew it; he came to find Director Pei's daughter. Starting with some nonsense questions about Cui Gan, when he wasn't even injured last night."

Wang Chuan led Pei Nanli into the Doctor's Rest Room. "Sign these pages, all of them."

Today was Pei Nanli's outfit of the day.

She wore a neat White Coat, its tailored cut outlining her tall and slender figure.

Her raven-black long hair was pinned up in a simple bun at the back of her head, with a few stray strands falling by her ears.

Sunlight streaming through the window made the lines of her profile appear cold and jade-carved.

Pei Nanli deftly took the documents, quickly scanned and confirmed them, then signed her name in the designated spots.

Her gaze fell upon the company name, her delicate brows knitting slightly as she asked, "Why is the company called this?"

"Mingzhou City Suguangchuan Consulting Co., Ltd.?"

"Suguangchuan; I hope that when I grow old, time will flow like water, reversing upstream to my youth, allowing me to live once more and choose again."

Pei Nanli looked seriously at Wang Chuan. "Then which day do you plan to return to?"

"Pei Nanli, if you had the chance, which day would you want to return to?" Wang Chuan countered.

After Wang Chuan asked, he saw Pei Nanli pause slightly, a rare expression of contemplation appearing on her beautiful face.

After a brief silence, Pei Nanli replied, "My life so far has been extremely smooth; there is no need for me to return to the past to make a different choice. You answer quickly: which day are you returning to?"

Pei Nanli's tone was steady, carrying a hint of pride.

A smile curved Wang Chuan's lips. "I thought you might say you'd return to that day in your freshman year when you took out a Glucose bar to treat me after I fainted."

Pei Nanli asked in confusion, "Why? Did you not need me to save you that day?"

Wang Chuan revealed a teasing expression. "Because I want to return to the moment last night when I kissed you."

He slowly extended his hand, intending to embrace Pei Nanli.

Almost reflexively, Pei Nanli sharply raised her hand and slapped Wang Chuan's outstretched arm away with a "Smack."

A flush of shame leaped onto her face, and a trace of angry embarrassment flashed in her eyes; Pei Nanli turned her head, intending to open the door and leave.

"Wait, you are a Shareholder; give me your original Identity Card, I need to take it to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau," Wang Chuan called out to stop her.

Pei Nanli paused mid-step, did not turn around, casually tossed her Identity Card onto the bed in the Rest Room, and hurried away.

She threw back an angry remark: "Yes, I want to return to that day, throw away the Glucose bar and not give it to you, letting you faint to death! Then we wouldn't have met at all!"

Wang Chuan laughed. "Pei Nanli, unfortunately, your time cannot flow backward. Our meeting was destined by Heaven."

Hearing 'destined by Heaven,' Pei Nanli's heart stirred slightly; without Wang Chuan's companionship over these four years, it was hard to imagine what she would have become.

Wang Chuan returned to the Emergency Department, handed the document materials to Lou Yihan, and told her to hurry to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau to submit the application.

Under normal circumstances, if no supplementary materials are needed, the Name Pre-approval Notice will be issued within ten working days.

If this were in Shanghai, starting from April 1, 2004, online applications could be implemented.

Within fifteen working days, the applicant brings the relevant written materials to the intended Industrial and Commercial department for review; if conditions are met, the Name Pre-approval Notice can be collected on the spot.

Around noon today, Wang Chuan handed Shen Mianshuang's Bank Card to Wang Jia.

Wang Jia was the one delivering lunch to Shen Mianshuang at noon. "Boss Wang, since I'm delivering food to Doctor Shen, aren't you going to pay us deliverers some wages?"

"Just deliver it well. With Doctor Shen, Deputy Group Leader Shen, speaking up, how could your Internship Attitude Score be low? Isn't that score worth more than a little money?"

Wang Chuan sent Wang Jia away and continued working until four in the Afternoon, when the morning shift ended.

Tapping the light screen, he saw: 【Peak Medical Skill Experience Activation Progress: Earn deep gratitude from patients and family members, cumulative 97/100】.

【Virtual Operation Training】 sessions fifteen and sixteen have activated; the activation condition for the seventeenth session is 3/6.

During today's morning shift, for some unknown reason, there were so few emergency patients.

Could it be that Heaven wants me to activate the Peak Medical Skill Experience on my last day in the Emergency Department tomorrow?

Beep, beep—two consecutive text messages arrived; one was from Lou Yihan: 'General Manager Wang, should we prepare the follow-up registration materials in advance? Will you provide the Company Articles of Association, or should I find a template?'

Wang Chuan replied: "I will slightly modify the Industrial and Commercial Bureau's template for the Company Articles of Association. Once modified, I'll send it to you!"

The other was from Xin Chanxi: "Doctor Wang, I get off work at five, and my father has already left after his shift. Come to Source Land Real Estate Headquarters, to my Office. I will take you somewhere."

Wang Chuan replied: "No problem; I happen to need to use your office computer and printer to draft the new Company Articles of Association."
