Chapter 24: Liuer Battles Nezha
Liuer and Nezha arrived at the open space in front of the imperial palace.
"Come on, monkey, let me see what kind of skills you have to be so arrogant," Nezha said provocatively.
"Hmph, little brat, don't cry when you lose in a moment," Liuer said without any courtesy.
Nezha was furious, charged up wielding the Fire-tipped Spear, performed a spear flourish, and thrust it toward Liuer.
Watching the spear flourish Nezha thrust toward him, Liuer lifted his Meteor Iron Staff to parry it, then swung the great staff to strike at Nezha.
Nezha blocked with his Fire-tipped Spear; with a 'Bang!', Nezha retreated several steps, his brows furrowed, not expecting the staff to be so heavy, wondering how he managed to lift it.
"Since your staff is heavy, I will take the agile route; let's see what you do," Nezha thought to himself, adopting an agile fighting style, comparing techniques, and using his prized spear arts to attack Liuer.
"Comparing techniques with me? I, Liuer, started out with techniques," he said, dancing his staff as they began to fight.
Liuer only grew more fierce and spirited the more he fought, while Nezha grew more alarmed; he had not expected Liuer's combat techniques to be so high, and slowly, having no strength to counterattack, he could only helplessly defend.
At this rate, Nezha would definitely be defeated, so Nezha shouted: "Three Heads and Six Arms!"
Suddenly, three heads and six arms sprouted from Nezha's body, respectively holding the Universe Ring, Heaven-Mixing Silk, and Fire-tipped Spear.
He charged at Liuer and attacked in turns; slowly, Nezha seized the initiative, and though Liuer was suppressed by Nezha, he was not anxious and continued to fight with Nezha.
Everyone watched as Liuer was suppressed by Nezha and felt very worried, as this concerned the face of the Jie Sect.
Yuan Hong watched everyone's worried expressions and said with a smile: "Do not worry, the Second Junior Brother has not yet used his ultimate move; Nezha is bound to lose."
Upon hearing this, everyone felt relieved.
Sure enough, after a short while, Liuer let out a roar, his body rapidly growing until it stopped at several dozen meters, his entire body erupting with flames, and the Meteor Iron Staff also grew along with him until Liuer was satisfied.
After Liuer transformed, Nezha's pressure increased greatly, and he was immediately suppressed by Liuer. Nezha desperately resisted Liuer's attacks, but since Liuer's strength had multiplied after his body grew, and every attack carried flames—causing injury upon contact—he found it increasingly difficult to fight, and seeing that he could no longer resist, he was about to be struck by the great staff Liuer swung down from the sky, which would mean death or at least a grave injury.
Suddenly, a Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade blocked Liuer's attack. A three-eyed man walked over.
"My sect's disciple Nezha is ignorant; I hope you, fellow Daoist, can be magnanimous."
Liuer watched the three-eyed fellow come over to block his attack and originally wanted to hit him as well, but he could not see through the strength of the three-eyed fellow, so he stopped his movements.
From behind came the voice of Shen Gongbao: "That is enough." Liuer put away his weapon, returned to his normal appearance, and walked behind Shen Gongbao.
Yang Jian saw Liuer walk behind Shen Gongbao and said: "Thank you, Uncle-Master, for your magnanimity. This junior brother of mine ran out secretly. Uncle-Master Jiang and I discovered he was missing and ordered me to come and stop him immediately; I hope this does not damage the 'friendship' between our two sects. Once I bring my junior brother back, I will certainly punish him; I hope you, Uncle-Master, will forgive us."
Seeing that the Jie Sect had not suffered a loss and had defeated a great general of the Chan Sect, Shen Gongbao was very happy and said immediately: "Nephew, you are being too formal. Don't young people always have a competitive spirit? It is no matter. Nephew, take him away."
Hearing Shen Gongbao's words, Yang Jian was visibly relieved and said: "Thank you, Uncle-Master. Then, Uncle-Master, I will take my junior brother away." After speaking, he took Nezha and flew toward Xiqi.
Everyone was even more excited after this battle; not only had Yuan Hong defeated a master from Buddhism, but even a famous third-generation powerhouse of the Chan Sect had lost to Liuer. Their confidence had truly increased greatly, and they returned to the banquet to drink until dawn before they were willing to stop.
Upon returning to Xiqi, Nezha was severely reprimanded by Jiang Ziya and was punished with a one-month ban from battle. Nezha regretted it to death now; this trip to the Jie Sect had not only caused him to lose face, but he was also unable to go to the battlefield to kill the enemy.
