Chapter 1012: Copying the method, traveling light is the way to solve it

Li Long said: "The best way is to slaughter and sell the culling sheep in the hands of the herdsmen before they freeze or starve to death. In this way, it not only saves feed but also reduces the pressure on herdsmen."

Li Xiangqian was a bit surprised. This method was not something he hadn't thought about.

After all, it was icy and snowy now, and wanting to collect enough feed was really not easy.

But slaughtering cattle and sheep in batches to reduce the consumption of feed could be done.

Although the price of cattle and sheep slaughtered in batches at this time would be much cheaper, at least some money could be sold to make up for some losses, so as not to wait until they really froze to death, and then it would be difficult to sell at a price.

"I have actually thought about this idea." Li Xiangqian said, "It's just that I'm afraid those herdsmen won't be willing. Cattle and sheep are the most precious and cherished wealth of theirs. Are they willing to slaughter these culling cattle and sheep? I don't think they are very willing, right?"

"We don't need to communicate directly with the herdsmen about this, right? Isn't the pastoral team there? Just find the pastoral team." Li Long said, "The feed we raise can't be given directly to the herdsmen, right? It is also handed over to them through the pastoral team.

This kind of thing we are just making suggestions. After all, to tell the truth, now we can collect some wheat straw and corn stalks, but it's freezing cold, and with the current transport capacity, how much can we transport? It's just a drop in the bucket. Unless we start a nationwide donation, otherwise, just us, we really can't collect it, and the transport capacity is not enough."

Li Xiangqian nodded repeatedly after hearing Li Long's words. In fact, he thought so too. To tell the truth, as far as the current situation is concerned, collecting forage really couldn't play much of a role, just a little bit of relief.

The real solution was just as Li Long said, slaughtering the culling sheep and making a brave decision to cut off the wrist.

Otherwise, by January or February, the feed stored by the herdsmen would be eaten up, and the snow wouldn't have melted yet. Then all the cattle and sheep would suffer.

"We can only report this suggestion on our side. As for how the higher-ups implement it, we don't know. However, this matter is really troublesome to implement. Who will collect the slaughtered cattle and sheep? How will our supply and marketing cooperative handle these things?"

"I won't talk about big places, but our Maxian County, I can collect some." Li Long said quite confidently, "Wait until I go back, I will first contact the merchants inside the pass to see if they need cattle and sheep here.

The quality of our cattle and sheep meat here is good, the pass should need it, right? Even if they don't need it, I will store it first and put it into the market before the New Year. Not to mention making money, at least I can break even."

Through two years of fattening cattle and sheep, Li Long already knew how hot the market in Maxian County and Shicheng was before the New Year.

Even the poorest families would take out money to buy some cattle and sheep meat before the New Year, wrap dumplings, and eat a reunion dinner.

So although it was still in the primary stage of socialism and everyone's life was still some distance from being well-off, it was already much better than five or six years ago.

Why is the Engel coefficient not working in China? Isn't it because Chinese people, as long as they have some family wealth, basically eat something good first?

"Didn't expect you to have this courage. Also right, you have earned a lot of money from this purchasing station in the past two years, and it's time to take out some to make some contributions to society. Okay, I will report this suggestion, you really want to collect it, you also have to act according to your ability, don't put yourself in for the sake of face."

After Li Long returned to the purchasing station, he discussed with Gu Bo Yuan about clearing out the warehouse, and he really intended to collect some culling sheep.

Halimu and their small tribe didn't need culling sheep, but other tribes might not. Li Long had gotten quite a few sheep from them when Halimu and the others suffered a small snow disaster, and thus got to know Li Xiangqian, Section Chief Hu, and others.

Now thinking about it, another cycle had come.

At this time, the snow was truly very heavy. In the northern Xinjiang's northern Altay, Yili, and Tacheng areas, there was often one meter of snow in winter, and some even reached the horse's neck. ===== CHAPTER 1013 =====
