Chapter 574: The Case of the Mass Disappearance of Deaf-Mute Girls

Under the gaze of the top leader, Captain Xu continued:

"Those missing are not only the fourteen female students, but also the school bus driver."

"Road surveillance footage shows the school bus was neither attacked nor hijacked; it drove straight to a blind spot in the suburban surveillance network without stopping even once along the way."

He paused, then shifted his tone:

"But the strange thing is, that school bus driver is just an ordinary person; he lacks the ability to kidnap fourteen female students."

"So he must have accomplices, or he was threatened and had no choice but to do this."

After he finished speaking, an eerie silence fell over the conference room.

Even the top leader wore a Heavy, solemn expression.

The incident occurred yesterday morning.

A school bus from a special education school in Xicheng, after picking up fourteen deaf-mute female students, did not drive to the school.

Seeing the students had not arrived at school for a long time, the teachers contacted the school bus driver, only to find his phone was switched off.

The teachers then reported the situation to the school leadership, and upon learning this, the school immediately called the police.

Fifteen people missing at once, fourteen of whom were deaf-mute female students; such an incident, no matter where it happened, would be a major case.

The police attached great importance to it; while investigating, they reported up through each level, until the case finally reached the provincial department.

The provincial department reacted swiftly, dispatching officers from the general detachment to Xicheng to conduct a full-track investigation into this disappearance case.

But until this morning, the missing students still had not been found.

Instead, the school bus was found in an abandoned factory in the suburbs.

Being able to evade the city's Sky Net tracking, transfer the female students, and hide them, undoubtedly, this is a premeditated kidnapping case.

According to the on-site investigation.

Excluding the footprints of those fourteen girls, a total of seven men's footprints were found on and around the school bus.

Excluding the school bus driver, the criminals number at least six.

This is all the clues currently available.

After all, only one day has passed since the incident, and most of that time was spent on tracking, so the gathered clues are limited to this.

"Immediately establish a special task force; you will serve as the team leader."

The top leader ordered Captain Xu:

"Personnel, vehicles, resources—all are at your disposal; you must find the missing persons as soon as possible."

Although the top leader did not demand Captain Xu sign a military pledge, his tone made clear the degree of importance he attached to this case.

"Yes!" Captain Xu replied immediately.

After the meeting adjourned, he immediately gathered personnel to form the special task force.

At a time like this, the most effective investigation method is, of course, surveillance screening.

Although the abandoned factory where the school bus stopped was in a surveillance blind spot, intersections nearby were all equipped with surveillance.

Starting from when the school bus disappeared, every vehicle passing through that road section must be screened; then suspicious vehicles are compiled and subjected to a second, in-depth investigation.

The workload is somewhat heavy, but it is currently the most effective method.

After assigning the surveillance review work, Captain Xu called the special task force members together for a coordination meeting.

Even if in a hurry, time must be set aside to analyze the case, then formulate an investigation direction based on the existing situation; otherwise, they will spin around like headless flies.

The greatest taboo in solving a case is losing one's composure; therefore, the person in charge of handling the case at this time must remain calm.

"From now on, we are a single entity; the only job is to solve this kidnapping case."

Captain Xu looked at the members of the special task force and said:

"Everyone share their own views; if any suspicious points are found, raise them now; we will discuss them together."

This is a process of pooling wisdom.
