Chapter 665: There's a Technique to Tying People Up

~4 min read 715 words

"Was the entire villa searched?" Yu Dazhang looked at the officer standing nearby.

"Yes," the officer replied immediately:

"Every place where someone could hide has been searched."

That answer was already very rigorous.

Places capable of hiding a person certainly wouldn't be too small, so the search wouldn't take long.

Someone might ask, "Smaller places should also be searched; what if someone is hiding there?"

That's just being argumentative.

Should we smash the piggy banks too, to see if someone is hiding inside?

Unscrew the medicine bottles, pour out the pills, and check if someone is inside the bottle.

Open all the white liquor, pour it out, in case someone is soaking in the liquor bottle.

Is that clear now?

If anyone actually did that, their intelligence would be worrying.

Finding a person isn't like finding an object; the places a person can hide in a room are very limited.

Just as he was about to continue questioning that young man, a shout from an officer suddenly came from the basement:

"Who?! Come out!"

From the sound, it was clear they had been startled.

Yu Dazhang and Captain Xu immediately exchanged a glance.

There's still someone hiding down there!

Arriving at the underground sunroom, Yu Dazhang saw two officers holding guns pointed at a room, with one officer about to step inside.

Yu Dazhang walked to the doorway and looked in, discovering the room was piled high with miscellaneous items; that officer was pushing aside cardboard boxes one by one.

"Where is the person?" Captain Xu asked from the side.

"Just now, we heard movement down here," the gun-wielding officer at the door answered:

"After arriving here, we saw the originally stacked cardboard boxes were shaking, so we concluded someone was behind them."

That statement had a problem.

Seeing movement later indicates they hadn't thoroughly searched this storage room beforehand.

"Didn't you check this room?" When Captain Xu asked this, his voice had already sunk.

"We did check," the officer, not daring to conceal anything, stated truthfully:

"We looked at all the gaps between the miscellaneous items; we just didn't move these cardboard boxes because, from the outside, they all looked properly stacked. We didn't expect the space behind to be empty."

Actually, there was nothing to argue; negligence is negligence, and it can't be brushed off with a single "didn't expect."

The more full a storage room looks, the more carefully it must be checked, because that is where people are easiest to hide.

But from the appearance, such places are also the easiest to deceive people with.

While they were speaking, the officer inside had already moved all the cardboard boxes aside, revealing the space that had been blocked.

Throughout this process, Yu Dazhang kept staring intently ahead, fearing some accident might occur.

When the last box was moved aside, two women with disheveled clothes and messy hair appeared before them.

Their hands were bound, and their mouths were taped shut.

Upon seeing the people before them, fear simultaneously appeared on their faces.

Two more trafficked women?

"Don't be afraid, we are police."

The officer closest to them softly comforted them:

"You are safe now."

Saying this, he moved to help the two women curled up on the ground.

"Don't move!" Yu Dazhang suddenly shouted sharply.

Who was he telling not to move? His shout left everyone bewildered.

Even the two women curled on the ground looked at him in confusion.

"Dazhang, what are you..."

Captain Xu was just about to ask when Yu Dazhang interrupted:

"Step back. I'm talking to you."

This time, everyone saw clearly that Yu Dazhang was speaking to the officer in front.

While speaking, he took his service pistol from his waist.

And then...

He pointed the muzzle at the two women on the ground.

"Sit up, raise your hands!"

After saying this, he spoke again to the officer in front:

"Handcuff the two of them, then search them for weapons."

That's being overly cautious... Captain Xu couldn't help but feel worried.

These two women clearly looked like they were imprisoned by a suspect; was it necessary to treat them this way?

Besides, there are no female officers in the task force; under these circumstances, searching them directly, what if it's a mistake? Who would bear the responsibility?
