Chapter 733: Who Is the Lamb, Who Is the Wolf?
“Just say you picked them up from the armed police.” Yu Dazhang ventured.
This excuse was certainly plausible and fit the girls’ identities and demeanor, yet it sounded utterly absurd the moment you heard it.
The reason was simple: Zhang Jiangke didn’t have that kind of ability.
Kidnap people from the armed police?
Unless a human trafficker had gone mad, no normal person would even dare to imagine it.
He said this merely to test Zhang Jiangke’s sincerity in cooperating with the police.
“Don’t joke.”
Zhang Jiangke avoided the girls’ gazes, lowering his voice to Yu Dazhang:
“I don’t even believe this myself, let alone expect anyone else to buy it.”
Good enough—no tricks… Yu Dazhang then nodded slightly to the female special ops leader, signaling her to take the girls to the next room to change.
After the seven girls left, Zhang Jiangke sat back down on the bed and let out a long breath.
“Even if they’ve been professionally trained by the military, they’re still women—and far too young.”
Zhang Jiangke suggested:
“If you really send them over, it’s like leading a flock of lambs into a wolf’s den. If contact is lost, you’ll regret it too late.”
Lambs? Yu Dazhang turned his head silently, his lips twitching.
Who’s the lamb and who’s the wolf? That’s still uncertain.
During the last mission, Yu Dazhang had once harbored similar concerns—but after witnessing the bathhouse scene firsthand, he realized how naive his thoughts had been.
One thing was certain.
If these girls truly went missing, Gu Dingwen and his crew would likely be finished.
Sometimes you must respect professionalism; on the surface, these girls easily lull you into complacency.
But the military trained them precisely to handle emergencies, so there’s no need to worry about them.
“What you need to consider is how to make Gu Dingwen believe it.”
Yu Dazhang reminded him:
“As for the safety of my personnel, that’s my responsibility—you just focus on how you’ll explain it.”
He knew Zhang Jiangke only wanted to prevent casualties on the police side, but some things simply weren’t his concern.
A little while later.
The room door slowly opened, and a figure appeared at the threshold.
She was a girl in a floral dress, her steps light, hair loosely cascading down her back—not styled, yet naturally effortless.
Her presence was like a fresh breeze; as soon as she entered, a wave of youthful vitality surged into the room.
Zhang Jiangke was instantly captivated by just one glance.
“Who’s this?”
He turned to Yu Dazhang and asked:
“Did you bring someone else?”
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, his eyes lit up and he nodded repeatedly, muttering:
“This one works—perfectly fits the criteria—but…”
Before Zhang Jiangke finished speaking, another girl entered through the door, wearing ripped jeans.
Her top was a bold T-shirt covered in strange patterns and text.
This outfit made her stand out sharply.
Add to that her slightly messy short hair and her cold, detached expression, and at first glance, she looked every bit the rebellious teen.
“She…”
Zhang Jiangke’s gaze fixed on the girl, and he couldn’t help but glance again:
“She works too.”
Before he could continue, another girl entered—wearing overalls, her style playful and cute, like a neighborhood little sister.
Zhang Jiangke’s attention snapped to her again.
Before he could react, four more girls filed in one after another, then lined up in a row before the bed.
Now he finally saw their faces clearly—and recognized their identities.
