Chapter 758: Don

~3 min read 560 words

He could really blow smoke… Yu Dazhang simply didn’t believe a word of it.

Although he had no real grasp of the unit “hundred million,” he knew earning that much was by no means easy.

Many people couldn’t reach that sum even by taking desperate risks, let alone five hundred million.

“How much did you invest?” Yu Dazhang asked.

He asked this precisely to expose Qu Tuotuo’s lie.

Stock market investing requires capital; without sufficient funds, it’s impossible to earn that much.

“I built my position in batches.”

Qu Tuotuo answered bluntly:

“Total investment was around forty-eight to fifty million.”

She’d invested that much… Yu Dazhang realized he’d underestimated her.

She really went all in.

She put up half a billion— and that’s just her own money; if Qu Wannian also invested, the amount would at least double.

But then…

Even in a bull market, you can’t make ten times profit.

“Your invested capital doubled tenfold?”

Yu Dazhang’s tone carried skepticism—he clearly didn’t believe her.

Although in such a strong bull market, anything you buy makes money, achieving such an astonishing return still seemed unbelievable.

“Yes, and I was still being conservative.”

When Qu Tuotuo talked about this, her voice grew noticeably lighter:

“If I’d been more aggressive back then, my returns wouldn’t have stopped at tenfold.”

“You know about sector rotation, right? I picked stocks based on past patterns of A-share bull markets—and I was right.”

She assumed Yu Dazhang understood stock market mechanics well.

What she didn’t know was that Yu Dazhang had never traded stocks; everything he knew came from what he’d heard from criminal suspects.

“Tell me more.”

As he spoke, he glanced around and, seeing no one paying attention, relaxed.

Before the portrait was finished, Yu Dazhang had no urgent tasks, so this free time was perfect for a break.

Talking to Qu Tuotuo on the phone was just a way to clear his mind and unwind.

“At first, it was a broad rally, with minimal differences in gains across sectors.”

Qu Tuotuo spoke slowly:

“This was the foundation phase of the bull market—I focused on stability, so I bought heavyweight stocks like banks, real estate, and defense.”

She paused briefly, then continued:

“After making my first profit, the market entered the confirmed bull phase—after October—I switched my holdings to second-tier blue chips.”

“Right after I made the switch, second-tier blue chips surged across the board and led the market.”

Here, Qu Tuotuo’s voice rose slightly:

“Then came sector rotation—in January this year—I switched again, buying heavily in traditional industries: steel, coal, non-ferrous metals.”

Finally, she concluded:

“Later, I switched once more into thematic stocks. Not every move was perfect, but overall, my choices were correct.”

There was quite a bit of depth to this… Yu Dazhang listened, stunned.

Now he was gradually believing Qu Tuotuo hadn’t been boasting.

That was five hundred million.

His careless drunken remark had earned her that much.

This wasn’t group revenue—this was entirely her personal wealth.

“When are you free?”

Not hearing Yu Dazhang’s reply, Qu Tuotuo added:

“Let’s go look at houses—we should buy a wedding home soon, get things ready. Do you prefer a villa or a large apartment?”

Neither’s good… Yu Dazhang muttered to himself.

As someone reborn from 2024, he knew exactly where the property market was headed.

Buying property now makes you a fool.
