Chapter 14

~6 min read 1,013 words

Mary said urgently.

"Don't worry, Auntie Mary, I'm still pretty strong."

Luo En grinned at her.

That wasn't wrong, but in Mary's eyes, it sounded like a joke.

After all, standing before her was only an eight-year-old boy whose height didn't even reach her waist.

His waist was probably not even as thick as those pirates' arms.

"Stop messing around, it's dangerous here, you go back right now!"

Mary said sternly to Luo En.

Luo En wanted to say more, but seeing her anxious gaze, he swallowed his words.

He nodded: "I got it, I'll head back now."

Only on hearing this did Mary ease up a little.

"Being obedient makes a good child, hurry back."

Luo En nodded, then jogged toward the end of the street.

Only then did Mary fully relax, shifting her gaze to the melee on the street.

Harris took a hard hit from a pirate's iron club without so much as a frown, then slammed his fist into the man's face, caving the whole thing in.

"Got him!"

A pirate leapt into the air, gripping his blade with both hands and chopping down at him.

But midair, Brian blocked it with his fish-gutting knife.

The two close friends exchanged a glance, wordlessly leaving their backs to each other and focusing on the enemies before them.

"Damn it! How dare you sneak-attack me!"

Smokey rubbed his swollen face, glaring at Harris with a vicious, venomous look.

He raised his flintlock, the muzzle aimed at Harris.

"Go to hell!"

Mary saw this and her pupils shrank sharply.

Harris also caught a glimpse of it in his peripheral vision and tried desperately to dodge, but it was too late.

Bang!

The bullet left the barrel.

Even though Harris dodged with all his might, the bullet still grazed his arm.

He clamped his hand hard over the wound, but blood still streamed down his arm, pattering onto the ground.

A pirate beside him seized the moment, swinging an iron rod into his leg and drawing a pained cry from him, dropping him to one knee.

"Did I miss…"

Smokey sneered, aiming the muzzle at Harris's head. "The next shot takes your life."

"Harris."

"Big bro Harris!"

Brian and the other resisters grew frantic, wanting to save Harris, but the pirates had them locked down tight.

"Hehehe, let your death be a lesson to everyone on this island of what happens when you resist me, Smokey."

Smokey's gaze turned vicious as he laughed darkly, his finger slowly squeezing the trigger.

"No, don't."

Mary's face was full of despair, tears and snot streaming down.

"Die."

Bang!

A heavy thud rang out.

But it wasn't a gunshot—rather, it sounded like something heavy slamming into the ground.

"Dad, I'm here to save you."

A boy's childish voice rang out across the field.

"That voice is…"

Brian and Harris snapped their heads up.

They saw the arrogant, vicious 'big' pirate Smokey—worth 1.5 million berries—with his entire head sunk into the ground, and squatting on top of that head, a little boy with black hair and black eyes.

Brian and Harris stared at the little boy, jaws dropping, utterly dumbfounded, their chins nearly hitting the floor.

"E-E-Luo En?!!!"

Mary, her face covered in tears, saw that tiny figure and was likewise struck dumb with shock.

Why was little Luo En there?

"Captain!"

"Boss!"

The pirates stared at Smokey, whose entire head was sunk into the ground beneath Luo En's feet, and instantly flared with rage.

"Damn brat, get off the boss's head right now!"

A bare-chested, fleshy, fat and burly pirate swung his long blade and hacked at Luo En.

"Danger!"

Mary was frantic with worry.

But the scene before her eyes left her and everyone around utterly stupefied.

The little boy simply leapt lightly, dodging the long blade that swept across horizontally, then spun in mid-air and delivered a vicious, wind-whipping kick to the neck of the burly pirate.

The burly pirate's vision went black in an instant, and the sound of bone cracking rang out from his neck.

Immediately after.

This pirate, over two meters tall and estimated to weigh more than two hundred kilograms, spun and flew out, slamming heavily onto the ground with a thud, foaming at the mouth and unconscious.

The whole scene fell silent for a moment.

Every single person present—the pirates, the watching crowd, Harris, Brian, and Aunt Mary included—looked as though their eyeballs were about to pop out of their sockets.

"Eh?!!!!!!"

7, Sudden pointing and whispering (7/10)

Can you imagine the sight of an adorable-looking eight-year-old boy kicking a vicious pirate weighing over two hundred kilograms flying with a single kick?

"Aunt Mary, I told you, I'm actually pretty strong."

Luo En grinned at the stunned Aunt Mary.

Mary was now completely at a loss for words; her thoughts had ground to a halt.

Several pirates nearby swung their blades and slashed toward Luo En.

Harris had just been about to step forward to help.

But before he could take more than a few steps.

Several thuds rang out.

All those pirates attacking Luo En were sent flying backward, and Luo En was still holding one pirate by the collar.

"S-spare me!"

That pirate's face was drenched in cold sweat, begging for mercy.

But Luo En punched him right in the face, caving the entire face inward.

"M-monster!"

The pirates nearby gripped their weapons, retreating in terror, wanting to get away from the boy still standing atop their boss's head.

Brian came to Harris's side, gazed at that tiny figure, and couldn't help saying: "Harris, what's going on with Luo En here…? He's only eight, right?"

Harris's face was full of bitter smiles: "I-I don't know either. All I know is he's been working out for the past half year…"

"An eight-year-old kid, training for half a year, can become this strong?"

Brian gaped, unable to believe it.

Harris didn't know what to say either.

He also felt all of this was utterly inconceivable.

"Boss Harris, let's take this chance and wipe out these pirates in one fell swoop!"
