Chapter 599

~5 min read 933 words

Before him, the view suddenly opened up, and a cool breeze brushed against his face.

Luo En immediately became much more alert.

He saw that he had smashed a large hole in the curse.

Naizi and Taiyilang also rushed out right behind him.

The three of them ran forward a considerable distance before finally stopping.

Luo En and Taiyilang collapsed onto the ground, unable to rise again easily.

In that instant, they had expended every ounce of their strength.

At this moment, they finally let out a breath of relief.

Thus, a wave of exhaustion and pain surged over them, nearly knocking them unconscious.

Naizi's condition was slightly better.

Although she had lost a great deal of blood earlier, she recovered quickly.

She quickly stood up and helped Luo En to his feet, asking with concern.

"How are you doing?"

Luo En slowly opened his eyes.

"Go, hurry, don't stay here."

"We're still within their attack range."

He could still sense the lingering presence of the curse nearby.

Moreover, that aura was growing denser—surely the curse would not let them go so easily.

Naizi promptly helped Luo En and Taiyilang up, and hurried down the mountain.

At the inn at the foot of the mountain, Luo En slept for three full days and nights.

Only then did he regain a little strength.

When Luo En awoke, he felt his body was still weak.

That great battle had granted him much—he could feel his strength had risen again.

And he had awakened a very special skill.

That skill was rage.

He slowly rose from the bed, intending to find some water.

But the room was empty—Naizi and Taiyilang were nowhere to be found.

Luo En struggled to his feet, dressed himself, and staggered out of the inn.

The young lady behind the counter saw Luo En and looked astonished.

She said.

"You're awake?"

"We've been waiting for you—you slept for three full days and nights."

Luo En asked in surprise.

"Am I the only one here? Where did the other two go?"

The young lady said.

"They left this morning. One of the girls told you to wait for her at school."

Luo En nodded, then asked about the room fee.

It turned out Taiyilang had already paid it in full.

As Luo En stepped out of the inn and headed toward the school, a figure suddenly blocked his path.

The man was tall and thin, with a fierce gaze—he clearly was no good person.

Luo En stared at the man in surprise; the man also looked curiously at Luo En.

"My Master wants to see you."

The man spoke and walked forward.

Luo En wondered—who was this man's Master? What connection did he have with Luo En?

Though wary of a trap, curiosity drove Luo En to follow.

The man kept walking forward, never once looking back at Luo En.

As if certain Luo En would follow him.

After winding through narrow alleys, they passed a cluster of small cottages and entered a more secluded path.

Luo En glanced around, puzzled why the man had brought him to such an isolated place.

"Kid, you really know how to sleep."

Suddenly, a familiar voice pulled Luo En from his thoughts.

Luo En looked up and saw Taiyilang standing right before him.

And the tall man from before stood silently beside Taiyilang, head bowed in respect.

"You have a disciple?"

Luo En was stunned—he had assumed Taiyilang fought alone.

He never expected the man had already taken on a student.

Taiyilang, however, wore a wry smile.

"I never acknowledged him as my disciple—he just stubbornly stuck to me."

"But he's got some potential."

Luo En looked around and asked in surprise.

"Why did you bring me here? Couldn't we have talked in the hotel?"

Taiyiro shook his head and did not tell Luo En the reason; then he spoke.

"After escaping from that cursed body,

I've been pondering how to kill him quickly. I think I've found one of his weaknesses."

Luo En stared at Taiyiro in surprise.

Earlier, Taiyiro had been severely injured, yet only three days had passed.

He had nearly fully recovered, and was full of vigor.

There was no trace left of his previous grave wounds.

Moreover, all his scars seemed to have vanished.

Taiyiro saw Luo En's gaze and seemed to guess his thoughts; he smiled and said,

"In years of battle, I've long grown accustomed to such pain.

I've suffered worse injuries before, and my body's functions allow me to heal rapidly.

This is probably some kind of unique mutation."

Luo En looked at Taiyiro with a touch of envy.

"Such an ability is truly enviable."

In battle, injury is unavoidable; if one could heal quickly, it would greatly aid combat.

Then he changed the subject.

"You said you've found the curse's weakness?"

Taiyiro nodded and pulled out a diagram from his chest.

It was covered with crooked, scribbled symbols.

Luo En glanced at it and understood nothing.

Taiyiro pointed to the diagram and said,

"Since I woke up, I've been thinking: why can't we truly harm him?

I believe the key reason is that when we enter his body, we're completely at his mercy.

So if we attack from the outside, perhaps we can hurt him."

He pointed to the largest area on the diagram.

"From here—I believe we must attack here to stop him."

Luo En looked at the diagram and nodded slightly.

Though the diagram looked extremely strange, Luo En understood what Taiyiro meant.

"Do you plan to go in again?" Luo En looked at Taiyiro.
