Chapter 6
"Can I learn these martial arts from you?" Xia Wusheng bit her lower lip, glancing at Luo En with cautious eyes as she sensed his intent to leave.
Luo En smiled, "I don't do business that loses money."
"Where do you usually stay?" Xia Wusheng asked again, disappointed yet unwilling to give up.
She now had nothing but that jade stone—and she had already given it away, leaving her no means to trade.
"Serve me? I need some subordinates, then I'll leave far away."
Xia Wusheng faced the same dilemma again, "Can I think about it?"
Grandpa still needed rest; leaving for a short while was fine, but staying away too long would be problematic.
"Fine. Use this jade stone to contact me."
Luo En made a bloodstain on his fingertip, and the system's voice appeared again.
System: 【Congratulations, host, you've acquired a small beast.】
With that bloodstain, a glow suddenly flashed in Luo En's palm.
A small beast emerged, fluffy and fur standing on end, biting Luo En's pant leg, clearly tense.
"What's wrong?"
Noticing the beast's actions, Luo En immediately crouched down, "Internal injury?"
The beast nodded, released Luo En's pant leg, whimpered softly, and kept staring toward its own lower leg.
Luo En instantly understood, placing his palm over the beast's lower leg.
The beast immediately recovered; Luo En's palm glowed, and the beast vanished inside.
Xia Wusheng was startled at first, then amazed, "I didn't know this jade stone was something like this."
"Tap the jade stone to bring up the interface, then contact me."
Luo En tossed the jade stone over, glanced at Xia Wusheng, and turned to leave.
Xia Wusheng nodded.
At this moment, the system spoke again: 【Another potential Kage has appeared.】
Luo En smiled and headed toward the Genin Exam.
He had a feeling the potential Kage would appear at the Genin Exam.
And he would meet up with Boruto and the others.
Over here, Feng Qingyue had just entered the village and was stunned—then instantly curious.
What is this thing? How can they train so fast? The designs are so unusual—more advanced than those in her homeland? And they don't even need large buildings?
Feng Qingyue looked around, raised her head—and nearly collided with a tree trunk. She instinctively stepped back, touching her forehead, exhaling in relief.
Indeed, don't get too happy—Master was right; excessive joy invites misfortune.
Along the winding path, Feng Qingyue's eyes grew dizzy, nearly blinded by the sights.
The Hidden Leaf Village truly won her heart, though the sunlight was a bit too strong.
After some time, the sunlight no longer stung her eyes; Feng Qingyue fixed her gaze on the tall platform ahead and the massive characters beside it—her eyes lit up.
Finally, she had reached the Genin Exam.
7, Encounter (No need to read)
The system's voice sounded at this moment.
【Ding, congratulations, host, you've acquired the Divine Physician skill.】
"Can you take me home?" Xia Wusheng blinked, her eyes like a lost rabbit staring at Luo En, as if tears could spill out.
Luo En smiled, about to refuse—when Xia Wusheng asked again, her tone urgent, eyes on the verge of tears.
"Do you know medicine? My grandfather is critically ill; all doctors have given up, saying he's about to die—but I still believe there's hope. Can you save him?"
"My ancestors owned a miraculous treasure. If you save him, you can have it. I've never used it, but my ancestors once gained immense power from it."
A miraculous treasure? Well, I might as well go—perfect chance to test the Divine Physician skill.
Luo En nodded, "Take me to your home."
These words instantly ignited Xia Wusheng's hope; her heart surged with excitement, "Alright, let's go."
Saying this, she grabbed Luo En's sleeve and began sprinting.
Luo En couldn't help but find it amusing.
She was already eighteen, yet acted as recklessly as a seven- or eight-year-old child.
They arrived at the destination; Luo En raised an eyebrow.
Before them stood a thatched hut, utterly dilapidated—the door made of straw, swaying as if about to collapse.
Xia Wusheng grew embarrassed, scratching her head apologetically, "This is where my grandfather and grandmother first lived. My grandmother passed away years ago."
Her eyes dimmed as she lowered her head, "My grandfather feels his time is short; he misses my grandmother, so he insisted on living here."
Luo En walked over and patted Xia Wusheng's shoulder, "Let's go inside."
The faint, soothing voice offered Xia Wusheng some comfort; she lifted her head and nodded firmly.
"But I believe Grandpa will get better. Let's go."
"But what's your name? I don't know it yet."
After walking a while, Xia Wusheng suddenly remembered, tilting her head to ask Luo En, then introducing herself, "I'm Xia Wusheng. Xia means summer, Wusheng means no sound."
"Summer without sound?" Luo En chuckled softly, finding the name pleasant.
"I'm Luo En."
"Luo En?" Xia Wusheng nodded, thinking it over, "It sounds quite nice."
Saying this, Xia Wusheng and Luo En entered the house. The interior was old and simple: a few pieces of furniture, a table, several stools, a large wardrobe beside it, and a bed to the left.
Little else remained—only a few sparse ornaments. A frail, emaciated old man lay on the sickbed, his aged, cloudy eyes opening briefly to glance at Luo En, then turning to Xia Wusheng.
"Wusheng, cough, cough… who is this person?"
Xia Wusheng hurried over and propped up the pillow, and the old man clung to her and sat up.
"Grandpa, this is the doctor I found for you. In a bit, your illness will be cured."
Xia Wusheng looked at the old man's pallid complexion with heartache, forcing back tears as she spoke with a smile.
The old man was stunned, then scolded her, "You child, did you steal money again? You've been stealing money lately to go find doctors. What's the point? At my age, I'm already content with this old body."
"Don't worry, Grandpa, no money was spent," Xia Wusheng looked toward Luo En, "He's Luo En, and he even saved me. Grandpa, just let him take a look."
The old man looked toward Luo En. Because of his serious illness, his eyes could no longer make out a person's features. He squinted tightly, but he could not refuse his granddaughter's request.
"Doctor Luo, I'm counting on you this time."
"Mm." Luo En went over, exposed the old man's left wrist for diagnosis. A stream of knowledge flowed into Luo En's mind, and he instantly arrived at the answer.
Poisoned. This poison could accelerate a person's aging and death, making it appear as if they were merely ill.
Luo En rotated both hands to gather power, then tapped it into the old man's left wrist.
This power coursed through the old man's body, absorbing all the toxin.
"Bowl." Seeing the moment had come, Luo En looked toward Xia Wusheng.
Xia Wusheng froze for a beat. Setting aside her confusion, she hurried to the table, grabbed a bowl, and handed it to Luo En.
Luo En took the bowl and placed it in front of the old man. A churning rose in his stomach, and the old man vomited up several mouthfuls of black fresh blood.
Xia Wusheng could not help but be frightened. Tears streamed from her eyes as she looked anxiously toward Luo En. "Luo En, is my grandpa okay?"
After finishing vomiting, the old man felt refreshed and clear-headed, considerably lighter compared to before.
Hearing Xia Wusheng's worry, he hurriedly responded.
"Wusheng, I'm fine now."
"Fine?" Xia Wusheng froze for a beat, looked toward Luo En, her eyes full of doubt. "What was that black blood just now?"
"Your grandfather was poisoned," Luo En explained. "This kind of poison looks like an illness, which is why you thought he was sick."
Xia Wusheng understood at once and looked at Luo En gratefully. "Thank you, Luo En."
"Young man, stay for a meal," the old man said, looking at Luo En, feeling a wave of comfort in his heart.
Having been ill for so many days, he had thought there was no saving him. He truly had to thank the young man before him.
"I have some matters to attend to. Please rest well," Luo En replied politely, recalling in his heart the words he had spoken earlier with Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki.
"My cooking is pretty good. Stay, please."
Xia Wusheng looked at Luo En hopefully. She only felt that the man before her was increasingly charming, giving her a great sense of security. If only she could make the man before her fall for her.
"Next time," Luo En thought for a moment, leaving Xia Wusheng with a riddle.
Xia Wusheng nodded, a hint of disappointment on her face. "Alright then."
