Chapter 612: The Cursed Statue
Luo En told Nai Zi the entire story from beginning to end.
After hearing it, Nai Zi's expression subtly changed.
"I never expected this place to be so eerie."
"I've never encountered such a terrifying curse before—have they evolved?"
Luo En shook his head and said.
"We still don't know what exactly these curses are."
"But now we must go to the small village and see what condition it's in."
"It seems they went through a great battle, but when I came before, I found nothing unusual."
Nai Zi nodded and said.
"Then I'll go with you."
The two hurried toward the small village.
The small village remained shrouded in darkness; even the faint moonlight could not pierce the dense forest.
The small village looked extremely dim.
Luo En and Nai Zi entered the village gate and headed for the first place they had planned to stay.
But they found the house even more dilapidated than before.
Luo En said, puzzled.
"When I first came, it didn't look like this—why has it become so ruined now?"
Nai Zi suddenly formed hand seals, and a brilliant glow appeared in her hands.
Within the glow, Nai Zi was startled to discover the room had long since fallen into ruin, utterly unlike a place inhabited by anyone.
She said to Luo En.
"It seems you've already encountered the so-called curse—though…"
Here she looked at Luo En, and his expression subtly changed—he hadn't expected to have been tricked.
"But why didn't it attack me?"
Luo En said, surprised; he had been inside this room just now and hadn't encountered anything strange.
Nai Zi placed the glow before Luo En, allowing him to see the true condition of the ruined house through the light.
Luo En saw the dilapidated house.
"Did the people in this village already meet their end?"
Luo En said, astonished.
But just a few days ago, this place was peaceful—he never thought the curse's claws would reach here.
Yet he never imagined it would have become like this.
Luo En said.
"Then let's hurry and check other places—has the entire small village fallen victim to the curse?"
Nai Zi nodded and followed Luo En to other locations.
The small village was large, so the houses were scattered irregularly across various areas.
