Chapter 632: The Cursed Book, The One Who Wrote It
"Look at what's over there!"
That group pointed at a small charred object, their faces all showing surprise.
Everyone hurried forward to inspect it, and Luo En also stepped closer.
He saw the object, his expression subtly changed—he could sense the aura of curses emanating from it.
It must have been left behind by the curse.
He stepped forward and gently reached out to touch it.
Everyone watched this with great tension.
One of the team members spoke to Luo En.
"Be careful, don't touch it lightly—I can feel this thing might not be simple."
Luo En waved his hand and said.
"This object was likely created by the curse."
Then he carefully observed it again.
"This thing appears to be formed from condensed powerful energy."
Although we don't know how it was produced, we must be cautious."
Before he finished speaking, faint sounds suddenly arose from all directions.
Everyone tensely turned to look around.
Luo En tightly furrowed his brows—he could sense the aura of curses coming from every direction.
"It seems the opponent has already surrounded us."
Luo En said coldly.
Long Yi immediately ordered his team to prepare.
"Stay alert, don't let your guard down for a moment."
As he spoke, he placed his long cleaver across his chest.
His team members all drew their weapons.
The sounds outside grew louder—clearly, the opponent was about to arrive.
Everyone was tense.
Suddenly, Luo En felt a chill at his back, as if something had pierced through.
He quickly sidestepped, then saw a black shadow flash past his face.
Luo En shouted.
"He's over there! Everyone, attack him!"
Before he finished speaking, a gleaming blade suddenly appeared before Luo En.
They were too slow—the black shadow had already vanished.
Luo En grew even more tense, for at that moment he suddenly sensed a powerful killing intent.
And it was clear that although this group was well-trained,
when truly facing combat, they were far too nervous, and their reactions simply couldn't keep up.
"This curse is clearly not ordinary.
Stick together, don't let anyone fall behind."
Long Yi said.
Immediately, everyone huddled together, all weapons pointed outward.
Luo En whispered.
"Can you make out what the black shadow looks like?"
Everyone shook their heads—no one had been able to see the shadow's form, for the opponent's speed was far too fast.
Long Yi spoke to Luo En.
"You be careful too—it seems the opponent came specifically for you."
Luo En tightly furrowed his brows.
When he first arrived here, he had clearly sensed something was off.
Obviously, these curses had been following him—he had brought them to this region.
Long Yi patted Luo En's shoulder and said.
"Don't worry—we'll definitely defeat them."
Nai Zi also cast an encouraging glance toward Luo En.
The curse they now faced was no ordinary one—the opponent's strength was clearly formidable.
Moments later, a flash of cold light passed, and suddenly one person collapsed with a crash.
Everyone turned to look—he had a deep gash across his neck.
Blood continuously poured out; it was clear he was already dead.
Someone immediately rushed over to tend to his wound, then helplessly shook his head.
"No hope—he was cut clean through the throat."
Everyone immediately panicked.
The opponent's speed was far too fast—no one had yet tracked his movement.
This man's strength was no weakling, yet he was slain in an instant.
"Everyone, stick together—don't act alone. This isn't the time to show off."
Even as they huddled together, people continued to be killed one after another, their throats slit.
Their necks were all slashed wounds—clearly, the curse had used a knife.
"That guy's knife technique is incredibly powerful; just one strike severed the opponent's throat.
Without decades of knife training, no one could achieve such a level."
Luo En furrowed his brow tightly and focused every ounce of his attention.
He concentrated all his awareness around him, searching for the opponent's whereabouts.
Yet even so, he could not catch the opponent's movement at all.
Moments later, the ground was littered with corpses.
This team had never encountered such a formidable opponent before.
Yaguan Long Yi said.
"Damn it, how did this curse even arise? Why is the knife technique so powerful? Be careful!"
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly felt a chill on his arm, and his heart sank to his boots.
He had pushed his speed to its limit and narrowly dodged the opponent's attack.
But a bloody gash had already appeared on his arm, blood seeping steadily from it.
He stared at his arm and roared.
"Where the hell is that bastard? Come out!"
But no one answered. Yaguan Long Yi felt his vision darken—he realized he had lost too much blood.
At some point, the wound on his arm had already appeared.
He had been so focused on his surroundings that he never noticed his own body's condition.
The teammates rushed over, shouting loudly.
"Rest immediately, don't move anymore.
If this wound isn't treated properly, you'll lose your life easily."
Yaguan Long Yi waved his hand, stood up gritting his teeth, yet he still felt he could collapse at any moment.
"No, everyone, retreat quickly—it's clear this guy is beyond our capability."
After speaking, Yaguan Long Yi gathered everyone and ordered a collective withdrawal.
But it was obvious the opponent had no intention of letting them leave.
