Chapter 641: Cut Down All Wasteland

~5 min read 968 words

At that moment, Luo En suddenly noticed that energy from all directions seemed to be declining.

Luo En did not understand what had happened here; he looked toward Taiyirang.

Taiyirang also stared in surprise at that direction, and said.

"It seems a very powerful energy has appeared there, completely suppressing all this energy."

Luo En said.

"What kind of energy is that?"

Saying this, he rose to go and investigate.

At that moment, Luo En suddenly realized that many curses seemed to be lurking around, all surging toward this direction.

Luo En's face turned pale.

"They've detected our whereabouts; we must leave here as soon as possible."

But just as they tried to leave, they suddenly discovered the doors on all sides were locked.

Moreover, those doors were extraordinarily sturdy; he exerted all his strength but could not push them open.

Taiyirang beside him spoke urgently.

"I can feel the curses have arrived here."

Luo En hurried forward, wanting to check on those few people again, but he found they had already vanished.

"Damn it, where did they go?"

Luo En said with deep concern.

Taiyirang asked with confusion.

"Could they have set up this curse themselves, just to lure us here?"

Luo En shook his head.

"It doesn't seem so; if the opponent wanted to strike at us,

they could have done so long ago—there was no need to lure us here."

The curse's aura outside grew stronger and more intense, and Luo En sensed a terrifying power surging within those curse auras—a power that even made Luo En feel a quiet dread.

Taiyirang suddenly widened his eyes, staring ahead.

Luo En followed his gaze and saw, not far off, a strange scroll.

Luo En hurried forward and unrolled it; inside were drawn some utterly inexplicable lines.

Luo En could not understand them; even Taiyirang looked puzzled.

"Why would this appear here? We didn't see it yesterday."

Luo En nodded; he guessed this object must have been left behind by those people.

What was their intention? The center of the scroll seemed to mark a triangular symbol.

Luo En examined it closely; apart from this symbol, all other lines were chaotic and disordered.

It was impossible to make any sense of them.

Luo En frowned tightly and said.

"Since the opponent left this message, they must intend to convey some information—but we can't decipher anything."

Taiyirang said.

"Perhaps the opponent only meant to send a message to their own people, not to us; others might know their code.

These things look like codes—those who don't understand them could never know."

Luo En first tucked the scroll away, hiding it in his robe, then said.

"Let's break through this door all at once."

But Taiyirang suddenly said.

"We cannot open this door—can the curses open it? If this door can protect us,

then we have no need to go out."

Luo En paused, thinking it over—it did make sense—so he and Taiyirang waited quietly beside it.

The curse's aura grew thicker and more obvious.

Suddenly, the entire room shook; the curses must have begun their assault.

Taiyirang widened his eyes, extremely tense.

Even Luo En felt tense.

A terrifying aura surged like a tidal wave toward this direction, nearly surrounding the small room.

Accompanied by that aura, an even more terrifying power transmitted instantly—the entire room began to shake violently.

Luo En steadied his breath and mind; he knew this was the most dangerous moment.

If they could withstand it, the curses would be unable to enter here.

Then he heard rapid knocking, accompanied by a familiar voice from outside.

"Open the door—we're back."

Taiyirang looked at Luo En.

Luo En shook his head.

"Don't open it; clearly it can't be those people from before—perhaps the curses are impersonating them."

As he spoke, he clenched his fists.

The knocking grew more urgent, the voice tinged with anger.

"Open the door! This is our room—do you intend to seize it by force?"

Luo En's heart sank to the bottom; it seemed the group had already been killed.

Otherwise, how would these curses know of their existence?

Luo En looked at Taiyirou.

"We must hold this place now; we cannot let those curses in."

Gradually, the knocking turned into pounding.

The sound grew louder; the outside force seemed to have lost patience and desperately wanted to break through the door.

Immediately, a series of thunderous crashes came from the direction of the door.

Luo En and Taiyirou were both extremely tense; they had no idea how many curses were outside.

But the noise was deafening, and the door was clearly about to shatter.

Luo En clenched his fists; a surging force of curse power formed in his hands, and he was ready for battle.

Taiyirou drew his twin blades and held them before his chest.

The booming grew louder, and the entire room began to shake uncontrollably.

Yet the door did not break—evidently, it was extremely sturdy.

Perhaps those few people had reinforced it with additional defenses before leaving.

Luo En breathed a slight sigh of relief.

But before he could recover his composure, the entire room began to shake violently again.

Taiyirou looked at Luo En.

"What should we do now? Are we really just going to wait here?"

Luo En looked outside.

Although all the windows were now covered by runes,

through gaps between them, the scene outside was still visible.

Outside, black smoke filled the air—these were curses, now spread everywhere, overwhelming in number.

Luo En watched, silently startled.

Though he had previously encountered all kinds of curses, none had ever been so vast and imposing.

Luo En said.

"No matter what, we stay here—for now. Unless the door breaks, we do not go out."

Taiyirou said nervously.

"It looks like the door won't hold much longer."
