Chapter 649
The box looked extremely strange; Luo En had always believed it contained something of great importance, but now they had no way to open it.
Taiyirang looked astonished, desperately trying to pry it open, yet discovered that though made of wood, its structure was remarkably sturdy.
After a long while, they all realized they were powerless against the wooden box.
Taiyirang frowned tightly, glaring at the man.
"What the hell is going on? You try."
After saying that, he handed the wooden box to Kage.
Kage stared at the wooden box, glanced nervously at Luo En and Taiyirang, tried to open it, then shook his head and placed the box on the ground.
"I can't open it at all."
The crucial information was right before them, yet they had no way to open it.
Luo En was furious.
Taiyirang said.
"Why not subdue the Lord and make him open this box?"
Luo En shook his head; achieving that would not be easy.
The Lord Kage himself possessed terrifying power, and among all curses, his intellect surpassed ordinary humans; fighting him was an excruciating ordeal.
Kage beside them suddenly spoke.
"Look over there."
Both turned toward that direction and saw a faintly glowing door suddenly appear in the distance.
Luo En sensed a powerful aura emanating from within the door; he was puzzled by what this sudden door might be trying to convey to them.
Taiyirang hurried forward, and Luo En followed closely behind him.
The door appeared very small, barely wide enough for one person to pass through, and was completely sealed shut.
Luo En involuntarily reached out and touched the door; he felt the material was utterly strange—not any he had known before—and looked incredibly sturdy.
Luo En struck the door hard, but it did not budge.
The sudden appearance of this door made Luo En extremely wary.
Kage watched the door, his expression suddenly changed, and he said.
"I've heard rumors that the appearance of such a door signifies great chaos across the world, but it was only a legend—no one ever believed it—until now. Yet this door is nearly identical to the one described in the legend."
Luo En slightly furrowed his brow; he had never heard such a legend, but Kage spoke with such conviction that Luo En began to suspect the legend might be true.
At that moment, the door suddenly trembled, its entire body shaking violently; Luo En was startled and quickly stepped back, fixing his gaze on the door.
As it shook, the door's size seemed to have expanded slightly.
Luo En said.
"This door is changing—we must find out what it truly is."
Saying this, he rushed forward and reached out to open the door.
But the instant Luo En's hand extended, a tremendous force slammed into him and hurled him backward.
Luo En crashed heavily to the ground, his vision spinning; it took him several moments to slowly rise.
That attack had shown him the opponent could unleash devastating power.
Luo En had used all his strength to dissipate that force; otherwise, he would not be standing so easily now.
Yet he had not even seen a shadow before being struck.
He swiftly scanned his surroundings, searching for any trace of the attacker.
But the area was eerily empty—no one else existed except Taiyirang.
Luo En shouted loudly.
"Who's behind this? Come out right now!"
But long after, there was no response.
Taiyirang looked puzzled, stepped to Luo En's side, and helped him up.
"What just happened?"
Luo En said.
"When I tried to open the door, I was suddenly thrown back by a massive force. If I'm right, someone is hiding here."
"But we've found nothing. Who is he? Why is he stopping us?"
Taiyirang stared at Kage.
"Is he your man?"
Kage shook his head and said.
"How could that be? If he were mine, he would likely have rescued me by now—but he's never contacted me."
Luo En tensed, carefully scanning his surroundings, yet all the energy here was calm—no fluctuation at all, meaning no one was nearby.
Luo En cautiously approached the door again and reached out once more to open it.
This time, no attack came; his hand finally touched the doorknob, and he felt a shock—suddenly, a surge of vibrant energy rushed toward him.
