Chapter 82

~7 min read 1,302 words

"Ah, Ashley, look, it's that big brother!"

The older of the twins, spotting Luo En, widened her large, tear-filled eyes slightly, speaking with great surprise and excitement.

The younger sister, whose face was rounder and bore a hint of baby fat, wiped away her tears and looked over; once she clearly made out that figure, a glimmer of light appeared in her eyes.

"Seeking death!"

Two pirates not far from Luo En, seeing him standing a few meters away facing them, felt malice rise in their hearts and immediately swung their weapons, slashing at him from behind.

Luo En didn't even look, simply raising his hand to fire two more shots.

Bang! Bang!

Clang.

The weapons dropped from the hands of the two vicious pirates; their bodies, brains pierced through, swayed twice before falling straight down, dead beyond any doubt.

Blood-Blade Hand Misa narrowed his eyes, shouldering his great blade as he walked toward him.

"Kid, what's your name?"

There was no answer.

Only the silver revolver emitting green smoke in the black-haired youth's hand was raised, aiming directly at him.

"With this kind of weapon, do you think you can do anything to me?!"

Misa let out a cold laugh, stomped his foot, and charged at the black-haired youth, enveloped in killing intent.

The black-haired youth, expression calm, pulled the trigger.

Bang!

A silver bullet tore through the air at tremendous speed, like a streak of silver light, shooting toward the charging Misa.

Its destination... was his brow!

Unavoidable!

Misa widened his eyes, his heart slightly shaken.

But after all, he was a pirate with a bounty of twenty-seven million, one who had faced death before.

His eyes tightened; he raised the refined-iron long blade in his hand, preparing to flick away that rapidly approaching silver bullet.

When dealing with the Navy's lead bullets in the past, this was always how he handled them.

But the instant the blade made contact with that silver bullet.

Misa realized just how naive his thought had been.

The great blade forged from refined iron was instantly pierced by that silver bullet wrapped in Armament Haki; before his horrified and terrified gaze, it penetrated his brow.

Plop.

The long blade, now bearing a hole through its center, fell from his hand; then, before the stunned eyes of everyone present, this deputy captain of the Desa Pirates, known across the Grand Line as Blood-Blade Hand and carrying a bounty of twenty-seven million, swayed slightly before collapsing face-first directly in front of the black-haired youth, blood slowly flowing out.

"N-no, it can't be. The deputy captain... he's dead?"

The remaining pirates turned pale with horror, their voices trembling.

The passengers aboard and that noble Lady also stared blankly at the extremely young-looking black-haired youth.

In the eyes of the crowd, the black-haired youth released his grip on that silver revolver, letting it fall; yet instead of dropping to the ground as everyone imagined, it slowly vanished into the void, which resembled a water surface.

"A-A Devil Fruit user?"

A pirate cried out in terror.

Hearing his words, the other pirates could not help but step backward, wanting to put more distance between themselves and that mysterious, dangerous figure.

Luo En bent down and picked up the great blade lying on the ground, over two meters long.

It originally belonged to Blood-Blade Hand Misa, but since he now lay in a pool of blood, plunged into eternal slumber, borrowing it briefly shouldn't be considered impolite, right?

Watching the clear-featured black-haired youth effortlessly lift that refined-iron great blade over two meters long, the passengers grew even more shocked and awestruck, while the pirates trembled with fear.

"Quick, run!"

"W-we're no match for this guy!"

"Hurry!"

They hastily dropped the money and treasures in their hands, not even bothering with their weapons, and sprinted toward their pirate ship.

"Only now do you think of leaving..."

Luo En stomped his foot, his figure rapidly catching up to that band of pirates.

Before their utterly terrified gazes, Luo En raised the over-two-meter-long great blade in his hand and casually slashed a few times.

Several slender, thread-like water-blue slashes cut across the bodies of those pirates.

Two seconds later.

The weapons held by the twenty or thirty pirates standing rigidly in place were simultaneously shredded apart, and blood sprayed from their bodies all at once, creating a rather spectacular scene.

The noble Lady came to her senses and hurriedly covered the eyes of her two daughters beside her with her hands.

The passengers and the few surviving Marines were dumbfounded, gazing at the black-haired youth holding the great blade, his back to them as he walked toward that pirate ship, their hearts filled with immense shock.

Beyond shock, there was also deep reverence.

Luo En leaped from this merchant vessel onto that pirate ship; the pirates gazed at him in extreme terror, gripping their weapons and trembling all over, unsure whether to fight him to the death or immediately jump into the sea and flee.

Luo En casually swung the great blade in his hand.

A straight, slender water-blue slash cut through the air, severing the flag bearing the Desa Pirates' emblem.

"This ship, I'm taking it."

Speaking thus, Luo En, still gripping the great blade, walked toward those pirates.

As he drew closer.

The pirates' psychological defenses were completely shattered; under extreme fear and panic, they made the wrong choice.

"Die!"

The group of pirates raised the muskets in their hands and fired wildly at the mysterious youth draped in a military-green long windbreaker.

But the fellow walking toward them merely tilted his head or sidestepped, dodging every attack with extraordinary ease and poise.

"Wh-why? Why can't we hit him?!"

One pirate lowered his smoking musket and shouted desperately at that figure.

No one could answer him.

The black-haired youth with a calm expression raised his long blade in their gaze of despair.

"N-no, don't!!"

"Aaaargh!!"

Accompanied by several sounds of slashes tearing through the air.

Under the violent sword wind, the pirates each had blood gushing out as they were sent flying off the ship one by one, plunging into the sea in parabolic arcs.

Afterward, under the command of Luo En, who had obtained the Navigation Mastery skill, the pirate ship slowly sailed into the distance, watched by the grateful and awestruck gazes of the merchant ship's passengers and surviving marines.

Gazing at that departing pirate ship.

One of the twin girls looked up and asked the noble Lady innocently.

"Mother, was that big brother the one who saved us?"

"Mm, he is our savior."

The noble Lady gazed at the distant ship, her eyes full of gratitude.

"Mother, what's his name? Will we be able to see him again in the future?"

The little girl asked innocently.

The noble Lady crouched down, gathered her two daughters into her arms, her gaze gentle: "Yes, we will definitely meet again in the future."

Someone so powerful yet gentle surely would not remain unknown on the great sea forever.

Half a month later.

Luo En, alone, sailed that pirate ship into the Devil's Triangle shrouded in thick fog.

This place was shrouded in thick fog with no way to tell direction, which was quite troublesome for an ordinary navigator, but for Luo En it was not much of a problem.

He could clearly see the movements of that island-like giant ship from the nautical chart on the light screen.

At the pirate ship's speed, catching up to that terrifying three-masted sail ship should not take too long.

On this day, thick fog rose over the sea.
