Chapter 1144 - 883: Han Yi’s Romance (Part 2)

~5 min read 905 words

This left Lin Wan astonished, looking at Han Yi with surprise, "Wow, in less than two months, you’ve managed to discipline your son so well."

"I didn’t scold the little guy. It was all his initiative. While you were away, I hardly had to manage him. Aside from checking his homework, I didn’t have to interfere much, and he did his homework well, he’s quite smart."

"Well, no matter how you look at it, it’s all thanks to you."

After Dingding finished his homework, Little Star came back from school. This time, Lin Wan had bought Little Star a cartoon watch for girls, her favorite hairpins, and the English practice book she wanted.

The things her daughter asked for were all related to studying. Lin Wan bought the watch, hairpins, and some clothes and shoes, helping her daughter choose them.

Even though her daughter usually wears a uniform at school, occasionally on Sundays, she wears clothes appropriate for girls.

Little Star in the family still loves to dress up, but the clothes she usually wears are from their own shop, so there’s no need to buy them. Lin Wan would pick out a suitable outfit from the shop for her daughter.

She knows that girls at this age like to wear loose clothes, Yaoyao too. Gu Lin often asked her to bring back clothes for Yaoyao, and even now that Hanhan is in high school, it’s still the same.

Most of the kids in this area wear clothes from their shop.

"Mom, we have a diagnostic test coming soon. I’ll need to study hard at home on Sundays. Mom, could you buy me a softer chair? The one in my room is uncomfortable after sitting for long periods."

"That chair is meant to remind you not to sit too long, to get up and move around," Lin Wan said, but she still bought her daughter a comfortable soft leather chair.

The end-of-semester exams were approaching, and besides staying home with the kids and supervising their studies, Lin Wan was busy going back and forth to the factory.

Since she won the award, many manufacturers have sought her design services. She prioritized her factory, sending new designs directly to Su Ling for the design department to review.

When she had free time, she designed styles for other companies.

Gradually Lin Wan realized she couldn’t help Little Star with her homework, especially math.

There weren’t any tutoring centers around; the ones available only opened by some teachers during summer and winter breaks. When Han Yi was at home, he could help the kids with their studies, but he was often busy and couldn’t always manage.

Lin Wan discussed with Han Yi and decided to hire a tutor for Little Star. Han Yi agreed.

This was their first time hiring a tutor, so they didn’t know who was good. Lin Wan mentioned it to Xingxing’s teacher, and the teacher introduced someone.

When she arrived, Lin Wan met her — a woman named Jia Na, in her twenties, who used to teach math in middle school. After getting married and needing to take care of her children with no one else to help, she took a leave of absence while earning some income from tutoring over the years.

The students she tutored all improved significantly in their studies.

Lin Wan only wanted Teacher Jia to help with math since she could handle more of the language arts subjects herself.

Jia didn’t need to come often, just once on Wednesday evenings for an hour, and once on Saturday mornings was enough. It was 200 yuan a month.

Since Teacher Jia started, Xingxing’s math wasn’t as challenging. She did well in this semester’s exams.

Because of this, Teacher Jia got two more tutoring jobs in their neighborhood, spread by word of mouth among the Saozi.

During the winter break, Lin Wan didn’t arrange any extra classes for the children. Instead, she bought some practice sheets for them to complete, ensuring they didn’t forget previous knowledge, and let them relax during the break.

That winter break, the kids all went to their Grandma’s. During these months, Lin Wan took on two external projects, earning several hundred thousand yuan. The factory also saw great success in the winter season due to her designs.

Her brother started a dedicated logistics line because of them. This time along the route, he advertised on TV, inviting franchise partnerships for the logistics points, but joining required a fee. This fee was essentially a deposit because they managed all shipments in the area, which involved collection fees. It was substantial — set at a hundred thousand. Payments needed to be settled within three days. The terms were clearly stipulated.

The bar was quite high, but it attracted interest because logistics was thriving. Seeing the fee structure, two franchises joined by year’s end. This made things easier for her brother.

By the end of the year, after paying employees, there were still over 200,000 yuan left. Overall, her brother made a profit this year. At least, excluding the franchise fees, the company’s operations broke even.

Opening a company is not easy, and expanding is even harder. Now, they are slowly developing. Someday they’ll grow bigger and bigger.

Lin Wan’s factory also did well this year. Besides regular shipments, they handled a lot of subcontracting, generating considerable annual profits.

Her two retail stores also yielded significant profits over the year.
