Chapter 221: Interlocked Fingers

~7 min read 1,363 words

Chen Xun pulled her over, then gave her pouting lips a light kiss; his upright voice had now turned hoarse, "Where are you hungry?"

An Yinan pursed her lips and said critically, "Comrade Chen Xun, I am hungry."

Chen Xun sighed helplessly, but in the end, he still got up and ruffled her slightly messy hair, "The floor is cold, don't get down; I'll go make some food."

An Yinan watched his back as he hunched over and left the room, smiling slyly.

She set up a kang table, placed the materials that needed translating on it, and began to translate them carefully.

There were only three pages left in this book; if she hadn't been so extremely sleepy at the time, she definitely would have finished translating it before resting.

Now, the waiting time was perfect for finishing the translation and passing the time.

Twenty minutes later, Chen Xun walked in from outside, carrying a large enamel mug.

"I haven't learned anything else yet, but I saw some dried noodles in the kitchen, so I cooked some; taste it and see how it is," Chen Xun said softly.

An Yinan picked up some noodles, blew on them to cool them down, and said to Chen Xun, "Ah."

Chen Xun smiled, "Weren't you hungry? You eat first."

An Yinan raised an eyebrow, "Hurry up, open your mouth."

Chen Xun couldn't do anything about her, so he opened his mouth and let An Yinan feed the noodles into it.

Only after seeing him eat did An Yinan giggle and pick up a mouthful for herself.

The two of them took turns eating the large tea mug of noodles, and it was finished very quickly.

An Yinan looked at the noodle broth, "It would be even more delicious if we had put in two stalks of baby bok choy."

Chen Xun sighed; in this Northeast Military Region, it snows all year round, and no plants can grow.

"You don't have to be like that; I plan to grow some vegetables inside the room. Since our room is so big and so warm, it would feel like we're doing ourselves a disservice if we didn't plant some greens," An Yinan said, then blinked at Chen Xun.

Chen Xun smiled and nodded, "You direct, I'll do the work; we'll start planting vegetables tomorrow."

"Okay," An Yinan agreed happily.

Chen Xun lowered his head and asked her, "Are you full?"

"Full!" An Yinan rubbed her stomach and answered affirmatively.

Chen Xun placed the large ceramic mug that had held the noodles on the table by the edge of the kang, then turned back, looking at An Yinan with deep eyes, "Then is it my turn?"

"Huh?" An Yinan didn't react in time.

Chen Xun had already pulled her over and lightly brushed her lips, like a dragonfly skimming the water.

"Wife, I'm hungry."

Although An Yinan admitted she was a "straight-as-steel" woman, if she couldn't react to this now, she wouldn't just be straight—she'd be a fool!

Chen Xun didn't give her a chance to refuse; with a roll of his body, his arm quickly pulled the curtains shut.

Then he pressed An Yinan beneath him, and looking at the girl with features as beautiful as a painting, he gently kissed the corners of her lips.

"I actually have a talent for cooking noodles."

An Yinan's complexion flushed slightly, turning a pale pink; she pouted—this dog of a man!

Chen Xun didn't wait for her to answer; he kissed her forehead again, his five fingers sliding into her fine hair, the smooth strands obediently making room for his palm.

Afterward, his lips were like a fair judge, kissing the tip of her nose, then the corner of her lips, impartial and balanced.

The places he kissed made An Yinan tremble, a tingling sensation traveling from her toes all the way up to the top of her head.

Her breathing gradually grew rapid; Chen Xun watched as her ears turned a delicate red.

He let out a soft, muffled laugh, his voice carrying an unknown allure, like a male fox admiring his prey.

Following that, he slowly licked her earlobe, and that delicate red earlobe turned even redder.

"Hiss..." An Yinan sucked in a sharp breath.

Chen Xun met her gaze, then slowly withdrew his hand from her hair, grasped her hand, and interlaced their fingers.

He kissed the corner of her lips, then his low voice sounded as if he were whispering sweet nothings, "Nan Nan'er."

An Yinan blinked her watery eyes, which were brimming with moisture; her naturally pitiful and innocent appearance now made one want to cherish her fiercely.

He kissed her earlobe again, "Nan Nan'er."

An Yinan slowly and softly let out a sound, "Hmm?"

His hand rubbed her soft fingers, and his lips gently kissed her palms, the backs of her hands, and her fingers, leaving his scent all over her body.

"Nan Nan'er," Chen Xun coaxed in a hoarse voice.

He didn't know how to say sweet nothings, but every form of address, every call, was a manifestation of his desire for her.

He lowered his head, hooked her chin, slowly kissed her chin, kissed her fair and delicate neck, and lightly licked the hollow of her throat.

That cool sensation made An Yinan's body tremble slightly.

Fingers interlaced, lovers embraced, the night was long, and the orioles sang in the green willows. (Ahem, blushing.)

The sky in the Northeast was always dim and gloomy, with no blue to be seen; when An Yinan woke up, she felt as if she had been run over by a truck, and thinking of everything from last night, she pursed her lips slightly.

It seemed that once a man had tasted meat, he could no longer eat vegetarian.

She patted her face lightly, "An Yinan, stop thinking about it."

She rubbed her flushed cheeks and looked helplessly at the watch that had been tossed to the side.

"Why is it so late?" She widened her eyes; it was already twelve o'clock!

If not for the light leaking through the gap in the curtains, she wouldn't even know if it was day or night.

Her stomach rumbled, voicing its protest.

An Yinan sat up, put on her clothes, and then got down from the kang.

The room was very quiet and empty.

Looking at the kang that had already been tidied up, everything except for her own bedding was folded neatly.

She went to the kitchen and smelled the fragrance of food; it turned out Chen Xun had already brought the meal back and kept it warm in the pot.

She took out the lunchbox; it was a whole box of rice, and she had eaten it clean, she must have been a bit too tired...

She scrubbed the lunchbox clean and placed it in the living room, then glanced at the bed sheet soaking nearby; it seemed Chen Xun hadn't had time to wash it.

She pulled the washbasin to her side, quickly scrubbed the bed sheet clean by hand, and then threw it directly into the washing machine in her space to rinse.

Carrying the washbasin, she walked out of the courtyard.

"Her? It's said she came back together with Qin Dafu. Battalion Commander Chen just doesn't know a good heart when he sees one; he wasn't even happy when told the truth. I reckon his head has long been covered in green," Wang Erhua said, not hearing the footsteps behind her at all.

As for the few people in front of her, they kept signaling to her, but she didn't realize it.

Just at this moment, a basin of cold water was poured down from over her head!

"Ah!" Wang Erhua jumped up instantly.

An Yinan had never understood before what it meant for a dog to never change its habit of eating excrement!

Now, seeing Wang Erhua, she understood!

"Who is so shameless, you bitch, you money-losing goods, can't you see someone sitting here? Are you blind?" The water poured on her made it impossible for her to see clearly.

Besides, how clean could the water used to wash a bed sheet be?
